So, here is my analysis of the ages of the characters.
Guessing from previous glimpses of maha puja 16 years ago, It looks like Chandni was like around 6 - 8 years old. Lets say she was 8. Advay said he is 8 years older than Chandni. So that makes him 16. When Advay was carrying his baby brother, he probably was 4-5.

Now 16 years later, Advay is 32. Chandni is 24 and Veer is approx. 21.

So is Advay really after an 8 year old girl's mistakes (or what ever it is)?? Even if something terrible happened by her, she was a kid!!!!

Well, it is not a small mistake( if she did the mistake) ...His parents died because of that...atleast that is his perception...if you loose both your parents and brother and your whole life ruined bcoz of one person...you hate him...that is what they are showing...

Whether she is the real reason or not is another question which will be answered eventually...

And also Advay is not just back of Chandini, he wants to Avenge the family too...He thinks if chandini suffers the family would to, as she is their pride...

I had the same reservations before;that she was just a kid..even now if I think from my point of view I can't hold her responsible... But advay was wounded mentally as a kid after watching the mob lynching of his parents and I think he has let that wound fester.. our childhood plays a very important role in shaping us up as adults and advay probably centered his childhood around the belief that chandni betrayed him and this belief just got stronger and stronger as ge grew up...he never allowed himself to heal..many times we feel the need to blame something or someone for all the wrongs that happened to us just to make the blows bearable and he has blamed chandni maybe to retain his sanity or maybe because if he doesn't blame someone he might not feel anything at all..

Or May be the facts he saw then pointed to Chandini as the reason

Again his parents were killed because of chandni but the thing is her intentions were not to hurt them or get them killed from a third persons view chandni is innocent but from his view and his psychy she is guilty..

Some times we all have to take responsibility of our actions
As at times some of our minor actions cause major repercussions
One small tiny word from out mouth can cause a major mishap
Similar case had happened with Chandni
She told the villager that Advay mom was a witch
And that she was flying in the air
We all know even now in villages some people are very superstitious
And if not superstitious then also then follow some old customs
Now in this case all villages believed that Advay mom was a witch
So they burned her alive and even Advay dad was also killed
Advay himself was chased by some people
Chandni gave alway even his hiding place to them
He had to baord a train and throw away his baby brother
So for a few innocent words from Chandni
Advay whole world turned upside down and his life was ruined
After this whatever he does to him is very justified

you put it so well, this is exactly what it is, i dont know what it would be like losing my whole family and watching my parents die pretty brutally. so its easy to be like well his an adult so he should forgive and forget what she did as a kid, if it happened when he was an adult then yeah i would agree.

unfortunately what she did in his eyes was cement his families fate with her accusation, from someone he trusted, cared about and loved. its not something he can get back, he lost his parents, he saw them die, he lost all those yrs with his brother and that family and girl who did all that are living comfortably as far as his concerned in his family home. i think you put it aptly, he was wounded as a child and that had a heavy affect on his pysch, so much so that his whole life is shaped around that moment, that is the anchor that has kept him grounded and on top of that no justice was given, they got away with it, can you imagine that, man i would be pissed. at the end of the day, despite her being a child, she played her part obviously not maliciously, its not MU where she actually didnt say anything and he thought she did. like i can totally see why he hates her and her whole family, why would he care about their feelings at the end of the day.

thats why his an anti hero, they arent driven by morality

he never got closure and i feel like through doing this he will and will be able to move on. its gonna be a hurdle.

I also wonder how makers are going to justify anger against a child in this situation
