I was asked to be bitchy on Roadies: PalakDIVYA PAL , TNN 3 August 2009, 12:00am IST
Palak was praying hard to get out of the jungle!
And when she finally did walk out of the jungle in the show Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, she was elated. "Wahan itne keede aur machar the," she says, adding, "A three-week survival is in an achievement. Mujhe nahin lagta ki mera elimination jaldi hua hai." She has taken back home happy memories and a regret. Read on to know more. "Maine bahut time bitaya hai wahan," she says. And the time she loved the most was her birthday celebration. "I was quite impressed with the way my birthday was celebrated. It was a one of its kind experience. After all, people across the nation wished me," she says, adding, "I'm happy I was shown as the person I'm in reality unlike how they showed me in Roadies 5.0." She doesn't have fond memories from the show. "I'm not in touch with anybody from the show. Koi dost nahin hai. I don't want to talk about it. It was the worst part of my life. I was misrepresented and was coaxed by Raghu (Ram) to be bitchy. Jo bhi hua tha, channel walon ne karaya tha," she adds. But in Iss Jungle... things were different. Palak made a few friends who she'd like to stay in touch with. "No matter what happens, I'm going to stay in touch with Aakash, Mona and Negar," she says, adding, "I don't know what was the controversy surrounding Negar but I think she's an innocent girl." Any contestant she did not like? "Shwetaji (Shewta Tewari) left the show because she was missing her daughter. Unka mujhe kuch samajh nahin aaya. She was nothing but an actor on the show too. Also, I don't think she was right in being vocal about her tiff with Cezanne Khan and Deepak Qazir," says Palak. And with everybody addressing her as Palak, does she miss being called Gurmeet Kaur? "Gurmeet is my passport name. Waise bhi naam mein kya rakha hai?" she asks. And while she may not have missed her 'passport name' on the show, she confesses that she'll miss with Mika, who has recently made an entry to the jungle. "If I had been there, I'm sure Mika and I would have bonded well," she says. From Mika to Rakhi Sawant , what does she have to say about the comparisons that are drawn between her and Rakhi? "Main kahan se Rakhi Sawant lagti hoon. Is being frank, fearless and bindaas enough to be Rakhi? Rakhiji mujhse kitne saal badi hain. Woh toh mujhse bahut badi hain. I want to achieve popularity though my hard work and not by being called her lookalike," she explains. |
