I'm glad the gender issue is being addressed before I have jumped in with my 2 cents! It's good to see that there are fans out there who can see the absurdity of the situation.
I'm an Equalties practitioner and have been in this field a number of years. Even if I apply the incredibly broad UK equality laws i cannot see how this has became a case of gender discrimination. This case would not even make it to a workplace tribunal. The fans seem to be have jumped on the he for she award and than straight on to the gender in the work place bandwagon. Some of the comments I have read on twitter (which have been retweeted hundreds of times!) have given me heartburn. From stating that no-one listens to SC because she has a uterus (I know we may not consider them human but I'm pretty certain that Gulneet have one and they are the decision makers here) to hoping Shivaansh is stillborn. They have spoken about miscarriage/ stillbirth as a throwaway subject. If only these so called feminists could understand the painful irony of what they are tweeting.
In all the frenzy of trying to end the show they appear to have forgotten that you actually have to prove that SC was let go because she is female. There is no evidence of this. All the old cast have been let go, including Kunal and Lee. I know most people don't appear to like them but they have also been dealt with unfairly. They have been there from the start and false promise, after false promise has been made with pretty much nothing materialising. I genuinely hope the show does not end because of gender issues. If it does it will be a huge disservice to actual victims of gender discrimination.

There is no doubt that SC has been dealt with incredibly unfairly. As someone else mentioned there are a million and one things you can move your movement ahead with but gender issues is not one of them. Anyone who has watched a GK show before will know the modus operandi she operates by. At some point Aliens from planet crazy attack her and she ruins everything she so painstakingly built. I'm pretty confident that she will never learn her lesson and neither will I!!

THIS! It isn't about gender bias at all. No doubt SC has been treated unfairly along with the rest of the cast. But SC's weigh's more because she's been the FL carrying the show along with NM however much the PH shoves the super 6 or O'bros. But to term this as gender bias is not right at all. It is simply the case if unprofessional attitude of PH and channel not giving an actor their due. Would it be okay to retain SC and let NM go to uphold the HeForShe?

PREACH, partner.

@Bold esp agree with these parts. I mean they do realize that part of the reason why they're being royally ignored is because SP knows how delusional these fans sound considering real world situations? Because anyone not part of the stan world can see how it sounds (not that I have anything against the stan world. Am a part of it myself). Real organizations can see this "movement" for EXACTLY what it is. and trust me, it's not about GI. I mean even as s strategy it's a huge failure because fans aren't able to hide their own gender discriminatory acts/opinions when they attack other women related to the issue. Just yesterday I came across a tweet that said "I hope uss Harneet kee kabhee shaadi na ho" 🤣 I mean I'm no fan of HS any longer but Aik toh a) you're wishing ill for another woman and b) assuming that "shadee" and having a man in your life is the be all and end all of your existence and then you're pretending to be an advocate for women empowerment. I mean this is some next well irony. It's also giving a bad name to ACTUAL fans who aren't pretending to be some great leaders leading a great morcha against a huge corporation 😆

Attack SP on regressive content on the actual shows and you frankly might have a better chance because they can't dismiss that as offhandedly by saying "hormonal teenagers".

Whatever is given to them, they've given their best in performing it! So same can be said for NM now too, he was given track, without questioning it he accepted it and fully in his right to do so. And going forward all actors may work with the same PH and channel. That's between the the actors and channel/PH and nothing to do with the fans.So blaming NM for this entire mess doesn't make any sense.

However, when the actors involved never questioned the creative team in the past/present/future about the tracks , doesn't mean we the viewers can't question the PH and channel about it and this entire movement is based on that, questions r directed towards the channel and PH. And in this some fans direct it towards the actors and bash them is unfortunate and unacceptable. Viewers have always questioned the tracks when they r not good, doing the same now because Shivika story now is rushed and compromised to facilitate the generation leap.

The bottom line here is the producer here made contradicting claims regarding why this generation leap is happening. First it was "Chandu is not happy to do a child track but later it turned out to be that track is only to facilitate the leap. Then came " Shivika story is not holding " Shivika story isn't working etc where almost all the time for them it's an Obros story or super six story. Since merger the focus was never entirely on Shivika, a redux that was meant to test their love and as a gift to Shivika fans have derailed into something else in reality. So how can they blame Shivika and their fans for low trp and hotstar ratings!

Many shows have gone off air since the inception of IB, some ended abruptly too but the channel is willing to give IB an extension based on the brand value created by NM and SC mostly from the cast along with the creative team, an equal partnership here by NM and SC, but when that brand is carrying forward without one of the contributing partner, it's unfair. A generation leap is not the only available creative option out there. The way they've rushed the shivika remarriage now and adding illogical things such as making Sahil from this to next generation villain etc doesn't seem like a logical ending the producer was talking about! And there's Awasthi angle and going back to RU too. All of of these can be shown without further ruining the characters during this extension period!

Anajli...as always you have written beautifully...😊

@bold...this I agree completely...no doubt Gul didn't come clean about the leap...she tried to put down fans by first blaming SC and then about Shivika not bringing in numbers and also abused fans...fans are no less mind you, they have always abused Gul and HS...

There is no doubt the writers have failed big time with redux...and I am sure they will never agree to that...
What happened to Ishkara, Rikara and Rumya, Ruvya in the past now the same is happening to Shivika...only Gul didn't replace SC or NM saying that they are not working..this time she choose to kill off both...

But I do agree that this IB brand which the channel/PH want to milk in after leap is actually created by NM-SC together along with some good writing in the beginning...
So its clear that the writers are incompetent in writing for that couple that has been brand IB...and in the name of creative freedom and freshness wants to do a leap...
There are many issues that can be dealt with Shivika but we know our writers, tehy are simply not that brainy and also the general issues of Gul's shows...budget, set issues and etc...

It will be extermly difficult for the fans to get used the change overnight after investing on a show for more than 2+ years. There is no guarantee that the writing will improve with the leap. If it's a copy and paste once again would viewers want to invest time ? Would we get the same chemistry with the new FL? People will compare them over & over again with Shivika. It will be extremely difficult to imagine the new character par would be able to create the same magic or it will take time. How long will the channel's patience run out in this case? Also baring in mind the over roll cast bought power packed performance can we expect the same from the new cast.

Unless the writing is top notch, the new FL & the other characters give air tight performances or the show might fail before it even starts. It will be unfair for NM to carry burden & the previous baggage on his shoulders on his own ( he might have to at least for the first few months). So however much good actor he is if the other departments fail, I hope & pray the blame will not land on MN's head. He is taking a faith of leap with his eyes wide open & hopefully everything will workout.
I might watch the new season for a change but I have many reservations.

@bold...agree with you completely...there are lot of factors which are not at all looking good for the leap..the first and foremost the writing ! After seeing the way redux has been handled , I dont have much hopes from the writing team...

If makers try to re-create the same magic of Shivika with new couple, by trying to reboot and rehash the the past, then there is no way the show is going to work...atleast online fans will always compare and then more bashing...

I just wish the writers take this as new show and try not to go for recreation of Shivika after leap...
