Finally Anika took a step today and Boy was it amazing
i am fully sucked in back all thanks to slight improvement in Anika's behavior and her not crying continuously. definitely a much much better episode aaj . it just felt more thought through episode today but plz can we have them meet already and bring some khushi and joy and fun . itna depressing ho gaya hai seeing shivaay and anika itne soft. my heart esp is hurting for how akela billu is man i just need to hug him tight. why have they left him so aloof and so quiet. anika needs to come jaldi to rescue him from the demons of the past. NM is doing so good in this + they are just adding so much more hollowness and emphasis on his eyes making them look way more glassy then they are and man it hits you in the right spot. i love the layers they have added to shivaay his scene with tia was really interesting to watch to understand where he is coming from why he is so aloof but plz can someone just comfort him. worry about him

dadi bhi ro do ke apna rant karke nikal leti hain and don't even try to help him in any way or comfort him in anyway like seriously what kind of grandma is this . again Nm was so good in the scene with dadi just barely reacting but reacting enough to hit you straight in the feels. i definitely want to see more of this side

about anika i am glad she gathered herself and showed some of her anika traits as funny as the plastic jars getting burned scene was i watched it on repeat and claps for aniak and SC bringing the confidence out but making it different adn variation of old khidkitod anika. here i felt for this girl being burdened with everything but today i saw that never give up attitude with all her expenses and all she is still trying to have all these expenses covered and that too alone protecting her sister not only that uthaooying the burden of her useless boyfriend too lole wow kya cheez hai woh . hope iss abri robin ko replace kar de in tia ki life

and am glad they gave us more insight into this anika too like what are the things that are important to her what are her thoughts about shaadi, izzat pyar and a clear thought process

in all the new characters or returning characters i like tia baaki toh hardly any change in supporting characters tia is interesting for now let's see when she turns evil lol .

so all in all i liked it

sorry this is all over the place but i think we've discussed most of the points pehle so ab mujhe samjh nahi aa raha aur kya boloon

lol definitely excited for tomorrow's hit and miss will be interesting to see kitna variation laate hain same scene main for now to it really does look quite different . the toning down of everything is really making things lots depressing but interesting too for sure ek alag tarah ka intrigue hain .

oh and yes shivaay ki changes are adding to more depressing feels like all the changes in his wardobe ahh itna dull sso is painful to watch just like it was painful to see anika crying.

yaar jaldi milwao and give me my happy chirpy babies back . there is a reason why separations never worked in this show

So much word to the nuances you pointed out...honestly even though we don't get any references to kanji aakhein in this AU, NM is really good at showing vulnerability through his eyes...there is a very delicate kind of softness in them these days in this hollow sa Shivaay...the glassy eyed look you mentioned...a perpetual grief...even though the reason in the show is said to be Shinky's deaths, for some reason that grief still seems more connected to losing Anika...that feeling of him having lost something so profound without really knowing what he has lost...just this grief that exists in every pore of his body...NM has incorporated it into all of Shivaay's body language in this AU also...he's grieving for something that he can't even pinpoint. And it feels even more sad cuz no one around him seems to notice either...as if in this AU, this perpetually grieving and closed off Shivaay is a basic given.

The scene with Tia again had interesting shades added in that didn't exist in the previous Shita equation...last time Tia was self-absorbed and comical with her Universe and Reiki lines...Shivaay seemed to tolerate her idiosyncracies at best...this Tia seems to crave Shivaay's affection more and he's more upfront with her about how their relationship is than the previous Shivaay who barely bothered discussing the status of their relationship with Tia...there was a kind of compassion in Shivaay today saying then don't marry me if you love me...it was a tragic sort of compassion but it was there...he wished Tia well and truly didn't want her to attach herself to a broken soul like him...the previous Shivaay wasn't like this. ...I liked that ending bit when she says that you'll fall in love with me after marriage and all he does is look at her and then switch the subject to "Mandir jaana hai"...NM really is doing so so well, man.

Then there's SC...she has less to play with than NM at this point for her character but I absolutely loved the shades she brought out today...the effort is obvious in trying to show a still resilient and fierce Anika underneath all those layers of sharaafat and accommodation...the other thing I have to commend SC for is the softness she's added to Anika through her body language...she smiles indulgently at Gauri but a perpetual pain lingers in her eyes also...the smile never fully reaches her eyes, never fully blooms on her face...it's a held back smile...she battles her own demons vis a vis craving izzat in society...they've both been given reasons for their grief in this AU but cuz of the tremendous history b/w them, the grief still feels more about the fact that they are apart and thus incomplete.

I hope the writers capitalize on what they have here with these two tremendous performers capable of adding so many nuances even now👏👏

The jar burnt, her hand didn't. That's cool though.
So they almost opened the episode with a clarification that Anika remains khidkitod, SMASHING that is in the process of falling down in mud while fetching corporation water, haath-jodoing in front of Chachi or the landlady, begging for more time and all that.
Chalo maan liya that she is still khidkitod not because of all this but inspite of all this...Anika appeared a variant waise bhi but Anika toh lagi. This is good.

NM...liked the variation in body language, how he did notrespond by hugging Dadi back. The absence of response by not embracing her back speaks the level of aloofness. He is using his eyes to his advantage in bringing out that feeling of lingering pain. His eyes may be emotionless or rather distant as marriage is discussed, yet there is honesty shining through when he makes his stand clear to Tia.

Seeing Shivay not reaching out to Dadi for a response hug only makes me miss apni waali Kalyani Dadi, that scene as they discuss "chittiyan" as she massaged his head was LOVE.❤️

Anika believes in marriage for she believes that brings in izzat more so because she experiences society's callousness in judging her mother. Since Chachi ranted the 'rakhel angle, I wonder will she be in a simular situation with Shivay. Forced shadi bhi huyi toh shaadi hi hai. Curious about that. SC...Kya kahoun...It's wonderful to see her variate even as Anika smiles at Gauri, she smiles but the happiness doesn't seem to reach her eyes.

Mandir Scene...Let's see what it brings forth.

yup i liked the bond here too and man his abrupt switches like mandir jaana hai today just make you feel even more for him the way he just switches the conversation when it gets too much for him and he is left with no answer the way he just says these end of conversation lines are seriously too good . i do hope he manages to share more with tia. he needs to take his bottled up emotions out. this is eating him inside but then again idk how can he exactly do that when he really doesn't even know the reason behind it . now here's i;ve seen plenty of judaais and sad heroes but Nm is really bringing something quite new with his enactment . have hardly seen someone do this phase so subbdued and in an understated way. he isn't screaming crying asking for attention drinking or anything yet his pain just comes across. normally these are the avenues where heroes go become devdad wallow in self pity and i really really appreciate and applause the makers for this caz i wouldn't be able to see Shivaay like that ever . word about his compassion towards Tia that really was something . so brutally honest and painful i actually felt for tia there too for a moment but then i appreciate him telling herr don't throw yourself in a living hell knowing it that you won't get anything except pain and grief so decide. nwo again this si what is setting hima side from other usual heroes

what is even more commendable is the character sketch they've given her is quite similar to her previous show and previous role yet the girl just feels like different person here. many of the experienced veterans fails to bring that pain out in such an excellent way this is once again proof of her commendable talent. It is very hard to control and bring that right emotion but she is just killing it with that emotion that expression it stays with you . the kind of emotion that stays with you and haunts you and you can't get it out of your head for a long period of time

I hope the writers capitalize on what they have here with these two tremendous performers capable of adding so many nuances even now👏👏 really hope so too

Does seem quite likely that she will...last time also even though Shivaay married her, she didn't get acknowledged as his wife until some time later...he was trying to parade Tia as his wife and Anika's status in his life was questioned for quite some time...Daksh made the mistress comment too...remains to be seen if all that gets repeated in some form cuz for this Anika, legitimacy through marriage seems everything...the previous Anika craved an identity...this Anika craves respect through the label of marriage. She wants to be anything but her mother...Hmmm come to think of it, it kinda reminds me of the NT angle in some ways...when the idea of being the daughter of a woman like that was so abhorrent to Anika.

So true...I've always dreaded Shivaay being made to go down that cliched path of doing drunk Devdasgiri but so far thankfully he's always shown to retreat more into a cold apathetic shell whenever he's broken...that deffo sets him apart from typical male leads getting drunk and doing tamasha...and somehow this is just so much more tragic to watch but tragic in an effective way rather than typical tamasha.

Doesn't Shivaay's past seem like the CV previous heroes' past...murder suicide of parents...brooding hero, and Annika's new guy friend is like the creepy brother in law of another show...don't mean offend anyone, but new track seems like an plot from an old show

NM SC no amount of praise is enough for them👏 they have so smoothly gone into play this version of their character that too after 2 continuous years of playing the previous one. It's the nuances they add that makes one connect to the character more and also not make it a typical one either.
This is a random observation but anika has always somehow managed to hold herself together and fight back more like the attitude no matter what life goes on when the separations happened she was sad upset hurting but trying to go on in life whereas shivaay always loses his himself he becomes cold empty aloof from everything everyone he mechanically goes on.

This time again, even though this is an AU yet there is that sense of sadness in both of them they lost something huge a part of them went away, the reactions or the way of dealing with it almost seems similar for both of them as to how they always deal with separation. Yes they have their past baggage but still this loss too lingers somewhere in all of this.

Yesterday was a better episode i always like it when anika os shown as a fighter it's toned down version more calm and composed but yesterday she was definitely the fighter i recognize. Which in itself is a good reason to love and appreciate the episode for me.
