LETS WALK INTO THE PAST TOGETHER!

On those rainy days when the sky grows dark

Can feel the storm

Brewing inside of me

Clouding my thoughts, weighing down my heart

Goa was about to see the rains of the year. The ambience outside mirrored her heart. Dark clouds rolling, invaded the sun, taking over the sky just as grief took over her. All these years she faced the world thinking that she had no parents. Those difficult days played in front of her eyes in orphanage where people mocked her and said, "God knows whose paap ka karam she was. Knowing today that she had parents and had a sirname to belong to she wanted to go back those people and shout that she did have parents and a name too! While Shivaay in the other room closed his eyes in sadness that how in their initial days he had mocked her to no end about naam, khoon n khandaan. A girl who fought all her life for her existence he didn't leave a stone unturned to humiliate her. So what was the difference between those people and him?

Under one roof, they lived together yet apart. Days passed in Lightening, thunder with no signs of rains. It looked like something was holding back the rains to pour down to re-nourish, Mother Nature. Slow and steady Anika was coming to life as she found solace in grey clouds that moved easily through the sky. Her mind still thinking and conveying through her heart. We will carry you to the clearing where the rays of sunlight still shines.

One day she didn't walk out of her room the whole day. Out of panic and anxiety Shivaay called the doctor. After running some tests and checking her thoroughly the doc mentioned,

"Sir, your wife is moving into depression. Its bit like a walking down a long, dark corridor never knowing when the light will go on. However a good thing is her mind is strong and she can be stopped from walking into that darkness. Give her the medicines regularly and I shall come and check with her next month. With this kind of grief, time does heal but she needs to face her past in some form now.

Shivaay, knowing her fear for darkness shuddered at that thought of her walking alone, leaving him behind. He desperately had to do something now! But What! With the medicines working their interactions increased and for the time being he was happy that she was coming around and atleast responding to him.

On one of those days while sitting in the garden sipping her tea which he had learned to prepare for her so lovingly she asked, "What made us come to Goa? Hit by a sudden question like that he searched for the answer within. Hours passed and he still didn't have a clue. The question lingered on the whole day as he went on to do his work. Until he lay on the bed that night caressing Anika's side of the bed as he missed her like the desert misses the rain. He asked himself, "What would you do let the grief go away? May be go on for days thinking about it or like the doc said may be face it head on!

He smiled to himself as he found the Answer to Anika's question, "May be they came to Goa to know about Anika's past. May be something was guiding Anika and he was the link to break that barrier & connect her to her past. A past that is still hidden from Anika or she has forgotten in these years! Since he couldn't trust anyone with things concerning his wife, he moved next day early morning in search of traces regarding Anika's Family with a note behind.

Since Kalyani Mills when set on fire was in Goa and his family moved out to Mumbai post the massacre. He asked a few people around that area about her parents but got no clue. Failing miserably, after the whole day trying to get some evidences regarding his search he decided to head home. But was stopped midway by an old man in his 60's.

"Are u looking for Mr. & Mrs. Ahluwalia?

Having read the parents name in one of the list he nodded in affirmation.

"Then come with me.

He walked into a colony that looked above middle class now but thirty years from now must have been a luxurious apartments.

Conversing with Shivaay he said, "Looks like you are talking about Anika, she was the eldest child of the couple. Confused he asked. "Did Mr. Ahluwalia had more children? The Old Man answered, "He had two daughters one aged 9 and the other 4. I know him because he was a friend and we took over his house post the unfortunate incident. The girls were taken away by their Uncle and Aunt post the incident.

They had reached the house till then, Shivaay cursed that uncle and Aunt who left the girls in an orphanage! He mentally made note to find them and rip their world apart. Breaking his thoughts, the old man asked him, " Why are you searching for her parents now, what brings you here to Goa?

" I m Anika's Husband

And a relief was seen in the old man's eye as he hugged him.

" Where is Anika? Me and my wife would love to meet her. There is something I have to give her from her father. I found it in the house when we moved in. When can we meet her?

Shivaay smiled and said, " Tomorrow, I will bring her here!

With that promise he thanked the old man and walked out of the house triumphant!

Back home in the dark with home lights on he saw Anika pacing to and fro in her room. Knowing the reason he smiled and walked in to greet her. But was taken aback by the intensity of her words, "What kind of childish behaviour is this? You venture out the whole day and keep me hanging by just a note!

After ages seeing his Jhansi ki rani in full form he mentally made a not to self. I need to venture out more often. Calming her down with a kiss on her forehead he made her sit at the dining table while laying out the dinner. While she gave him angry looks and Shivaay smirked. Once done, he came to her side, bending down on her knees, holding her hands together, he plead, " I want to take you somewhere tomorrow. Will u come with me?

She looked into those green eyes pleading her and couldn't say no.

Next morning he met Anika at the breakfast table all ready. Smiling to himself with some progression, they had their breakfast in silence and while stepping out of the house Shivaay held her, "Wont you ask me where are we heading?

"I turst you

"What if it's a place u don't wana be, Will u run away?

"I cant promise but even If I do my heart will stop me from doing so and tell me that if u have got me here it is for a reason.

Knowing that her mind was ready and working in tandem to his thoughts, together they walked into her past because...
