Annika opened her eyes , wondering why she felt all tied up. For a moment, she thought groggily that she may still be stuck in that coffin. But then quickly the notion flew away when she realized it was Shivaay's arms around her like vines.
It was daybreak, and she has to put her get-up on. Back to Kumari Rosie Rani.
Somehow, with Khanna on the lookout, Shivaay and OmRu snuck her back into the mansion. She didn't feel too good at the time, and she wasn't fooling Shivaay either. He was horrified and beside himself when Veer had buried her back underground and was ready to call the whole scheme off right then.
But it was a hard earned step ahead. Veer had to be convinced that she wasn't Annika. When he put her in the ground earlier, it was a shallow grave and he had left tubes strategically placed for her to breathe. As he dug her out, he had made sure Veer didn't see the contraptions and she played dead.
But Veer had wanted to bury her again, and Shivaay couldn't put his contraptions back in place. She heard as he tried to get Veer to leave, but the dastardly man kept on throwing sand. She valiantly told herself, Shivaay would get her out, as the darkness and closed space made her anxious.
It was an experience she wished upon no one. Acutely aware that the space is confined and air is sparse, she tried to take shallow breaths, but she ended up gulping air in fear and panicking. The blanket of pitch darkness that took her silently made her unaware of the trio yelling her name and frantically digging her out.
She woke up in Shivaay's arms, feeling nauseated and giddy. He wept into her hair and OmRu too in tears seeing them like that. They realized the depth of troubles they faced in Goa, plagued by danger in every turn. Honeymoon, my foot, she thought cynically.
But Shivaay hadn't let her go since. The madman was really off the rails. He wanted to give her a bath himself and change her clothes. That too with no cheapda-ness in sight. She had to shoo him out of the bathroom as she cleaned up, but he didn't budge from the door until she promised not to lock it.
He fed her warm tea and sandwiches, forced her to swallow painkillers and some multivitamins for her immune system (or something like that, who knows). She quietly swallowed everything, just to see the worry subside on his face. Tears kept streaking out of his eye sporadically, although he didn't speak.
A terrible rage was burning inside him, she could feel it. She needed him to calm down fast and get back in to plan, or this will all go up in smoke. Jokes didn't work, he just stared at her poker faced.
She was carried to bed, and she insisted he got in with her. In the dim moonlight, she slept in his protective embrace, as he kissed her to his fill. Arms rubbing her all over, all general aches and pains were all smoothed away. But he didn't sleep for a long time, nursing his anguish.
Now it was morning, and she was feeling a lot better. Very hungry, to be precise.
She tried wriggling out of her beloved prison. When she got an arm out,his arm snaked around her tighter ,pulling her close.
"No, it's still early. Sleep." He tucked her into his neck and dozed.
"I can hear your brain ticking. It's still early baby, sleep." he mumbled. She rolled her eyes and made a face.
"Do you know how long it takes to put on the get-up, Shivaay?"
"Who asked you to choose such a madcap disguise? I was told you were a village girl, but no one said village eccentric madwoman. Geez Annika, can you just do simple ?"
"Simple, is not Annika okay.." she grumbled back.
"Besides was that long antenna necessary really? One has to stand one foot away from you to avoid getting whacked by it."
Annika giggled heartily at the memory. The sound was so pleasantly infectious, Shivaay opened his eyes to look at her, smiling at her cheer. He loudly kissed her cheek, aiming for her lips next.
"Uh uh, I need to brush my teeth first." she covered his mouth , and squeaked at the tongue touching her palm. He buried his face in her neck and placed hot kisses all over. When she tried to escape into the bathroom, he followed right in and insisted they save water, for the environment.
Giggles and smirks, they laughed and played and made love in the steaming bathroom. The smile had returned to his eyes and she enjoyed the Prem Chopra version of her husband. Good thing no one was listening outside , they might have heard Shivaay laugh out aloud in between her peals of laughter. Soon it became quiet, an intimate meeting of lovers.
"Shivaay, we've wasted more water than saved okay." she frowned at him. "Don't scold me if the Bill is high this month." she said as he rolled his eyes heavenward. He watched her slowly turn into Kumari Rosie Rani before him in the mirror.
"Do you really need that ridiculous braid?"
"What?! I LIKE it!! NO LOVE it! It serves as an extra weapon! " she laughed into his arms, her ruby red lips distracting him.
When she looked ready to go, he pulled her back.
"Be careful, Love." he said with a deadly serious face.
"I Will. Promise. Mummy kasam.." and the smile came back.
