Stories are never my forte. Even if I write them they will forever remain in my journal hiding from the world. This is the first time I am letting others see this so drop your reviews. And be honest, if you don't like it say it so..
Sorry for grammar mistakes.
Om sat in a corner, thinking of another failed attempt at stopping his parents' divorce. He wanted more than anything else to see his mother happy, and he knew that her happiness lay with his father and as much as he loathed his father, he wanted them together, so could fulfil the responsibity of a son, making his mother happy.
That is how Annika found him sitting on floor looking lost. As she took a step towards him, she felt there was someone at the door. When she looked behind she saw chulbul who was looking at Om like he wanted to go there and make him feel better.
Annika shook her head to chulbul and motioned him to leave the room. Don't get her wrong she was glad that Om has a friend like chulbul in his life who is always there for him, she was also glad that chulbul saved Jhanvi aunty. But right now her priority was Om and she needed to talk to him. It was important. She knew the burden Om shouldered, but she did not completely agree with it.
She took small steps towards Om and sat beside him on the floor. Om turned to look at her and saw the worry in her eyes. He opened his mouth to assure her that it's going to be okay, nothing to worry but she stopped him.
They always had this deep connection formed by pain and understanding. They had become really good friends before she got married to his brother, and after it he was her biggest support system in the house along with Rudy. Even though their relationship changed the friendship remained.
Om knew something was bothering his bhabhi and waited silently to let her gather her thoughts.
"I want to ask you a question Om, can you answer me honestly?
He nodded.
"It is about sahil. He is becoming too demanding and Shivay is fulfilling his every demand. I tried to put forward my point of view that fulfilling every whim of a child is not good but Shivay...
"He does not agree with you Om completed.
She nodded as yes. "Am I wrong? she asked Om.
"No you are not; I have talked to Shivay many times about this, as you know he did the exact same thing with Rudra. But we forget that It's Shivay and he never listens he said shaking his head fondly a smile corner of his lips.
"So you agree with me? she asked
"Of course I do he assured.
"Can I ask you one more thing?
"Hmmm
"Don't you think the same applies to Jhanvi aunty? she whispered.
"What do you mean? he asked raising his eyebrow.
"What I mean is what Jhanvi aunty wants and what is right for her isn't the same...
"It's not that simple bhabhi, it is not materialistic, its relationship, much more complicated than sahil and Rudra's whims he said and tried to get up.
"I know, just listen to me alright she requested holding his hands stopping him.
He sat down and signed her to continue
"Don't you think relationship between Tej uncle and Jhanvi auntie has become too toxic? And even if you succeed from stopping their divorce what is the guarantee that Tej uncle is going to accept Jhanvi auntie. She stopped to take a breath. She continued softly "wouldn't it be better if you help Jhanvi auntie to overcome her addiction and help her to find herself again. She hesitated to continue.
Om encouraged her, now or never Annika' she thought to herself and said "don't you think Jhanvi aunty is too much dependent on Tej uncle I mean her whole life revolves around him. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with it if it was reciprocated but that is not the case. She is too desperate for Tej uncle's attention and protecting her marriage but at what cost? She is lost Om. It will be better to help her to find herself, because I feel her judgement is clouded. She is not thinking straight.
"But our family? Om began...
"You more than anyone should know that sometimes you need to break the sculpture before remaking it so the result will be perfect. If you just try to adjust the mistake then it will forever remain imperfect
"I don't.. he started.
"Just think about it alright she said patting his hand. She got up and told him to come down for dinner and started walking towards the door then she turned to Om who was looking at her "whatever you decide Om I will support you she smiled and left the room.
Om remained in that place until chulbul came and reminded him of dinner.
