There are two things that I like the most about IB

The actors and director of IB and the myriad of expressions they bring despite an illogical and unconvincing storyline. It is through their marvelous portrayal of all the characters that I find my self-attached to the show. The second and to be honest the stronger pull is the critical analysis posted now and then by writers like you. You made me view the show from a perspective of a viewer than a fan of NM and SC.

I had not cried the first time I saw the episode but applauded the remarkable acting of NM SC And NA too, but after reading your write up, I watched it again pledging never to rewatch it because I felt everything that you said here so right.

It was heart-wrenching to see him break down.

Kudos to you for being able to absorb and understand every emotion that was portrayed so well.

NO words can describe the beauty of this OH MY GOD. his hand in the air that there I made it and that proud wala expression 😳 AWWEW also the whole doobta suraj and ubharta shivaay & both of them at the same level yeah That is like darn darn powerful image . it also reminded me of QSQT sooraj ke saath tasveer

the hug OH MY GOD To many emotions there i won;t be able to do justice to it . anika was a mother a biwi a friend , everything to him there. the way she couldn't decide what will pacify hima and calm him down there was so realistic hence she did whatever came to her right from holding him tight to all those kisses the way she kept rubbing his back and shoulder it was so much like a mommy there who just doesn't know what will make him calm and would do anything in her reach to console him. the way she also broke down seeing him like again you could feel her dard not only seeing him like this but also at the whole situation but this was way worse and she was not able to help him as much as she was trying

the last one yeah kill me the way he separates himself from her but then fails right again and like a baby marooes jhappi there he is so freaking fragile loosing it all and just needing her he doesn't have any resistance left in him too that he did before . like in the 4th one too he tries yet again to be strong ke ho gaya bas i will be ok but then no he wasn't done*sigh*

i am crying yet again

All he did until he left home was to blink back his tears. As an adult, it's easy to subdue a strong display of emotion. Shivay being the great wall has always done that than emotionalize. He has never been expressive.

Your loved ones become part of your identity. When you lose that part of identity, you lose yourself. That's what he has just experienced. He held himself for long. Anika did mention to him that it was okay to let emotions out and speak to her about what led to this decision of his. He behaved the way he knew. Kept it all away, locked up all the hurt and pretended to sound and appear normal, as if everything was perfect and under control.

It is deleterious and lethal to hold on to such raw and seething hurt within. Saving the children was a boost to his shattered soul that he is capable of saving/protecting. With the kids giving him the status of "bhaiyya', it could only give a final push to letting go of the anguish he has contained within. He could barely stand. And like he always believed, when he faltered, she was there to "sambhaalo him. HIS Anika.

He could hold the heartbreak no longer and he fell to the floor in a disheveled heap as his grief poured out in a flood of uncontrollable tears.He screamed like he was being ripped off. It was painful for Anika to see him like this. I loved that moment where even she looks up to the powers above to derive strength to deal with his hurt. She would have died a thousand deaths seeing him THIS hurt while he wailed liked a small little child. No wonder they attribute women to mother earth and hail the maternal instinct to protect people she loves. All she could and she did was embrace him with all her heart, so full of love to let the torrent of his tears soak through her. She could hear him scream and wail, as he let go of the suffocation that he held within with each breath he took after he was separated from his brothers. Gut-wrenching sobs tore through his chest. She ran her fingers through his hair in an attempt to calm and soothe the silent war within his mind.

She would do anything and everything in her capacity to help him cope and survive this storm. In between all the small pecks and kisses and warm embrace, Anika attempted in her own way and the only way she knew, by consoling him, calming his battered soul, reassuring his wounded spirit, alleviating his trauma, absorbing his misery and absolving his agony.

Shivay let his emotions overpower him. But he had his Anika to start afresh. I couldn't help be reminded of the wedding time episode where she cried her heart out. Today its HIM who is clinging onto her, hugging her tight to gain back his strength and motivation to get going towards new beginings.

Have to mention that Nakuul was fantastic and Surbhi was fabulous in the scene where Anika fears the worst of losing Shivay. Two soul-stirring moments minutes apart. POWERFUL.
Nice build-up from Shivay's hesitation to share and pretense to sound normal to this heart wrenching moment of his breakdown in today's episode. Oh I guess he will still not share the Svets reason. But no worries.
Shivay ultimately could be THIS vulnerable only in front of Anika. That speaks volumes of his faith IN her and the respect he has FOR her. In spite of seeing his vulnerability moments ago, Anika places this absolute faith in Shivay as she takes immense pride in telling the Mayor that "log and WAQT inke hisaab se chalta hai'. This goes to prove again that only they can JHELO each other in every which way. But what an image of them?. Huh?? They looked the powerful industrialist couple and gave the leading family vibes every which way.

Cinematography was brilliant, the visuals was appealing and hats of to the crew for the hanging bus sequence. Saw a BTS video. And kudos to the director too.

Lovely write up Anu with such superb detailing of every emotion.
And NadanMKali, lovely gifs. Btw, do I know you from Gulaal forum? Your write ups look familiar. My username was also different way back then.

I forgot to add. I think NM has hurt himself yet again. Saw a glimpse of Band-Aid on his palm. Kya life hai in actors ka bhi. Burn your hands, hurt yourself, what not. Show must go on

LOL I didn't find there to be any problem flow-wise in yesterday's epi either...it was obvious it was an interlude and a build up to the bus hijack drama...not sure why so many people wrote off yesterday's epi. Anyways, today's epi was a solid payoff to the build up from yesterday and rounded things off with a powerful breakdown scene for Shivaay.

Nah,i meant execution and editing could have been better in yesterday's bus scenes.Dhaaba kid scenes,Rudy scenes were well executed,that daadi scene, bus scene where Shivay welcoming the bus looked funny to me executionwise,those 2 things felt little bit out of place,editing wise,execution wise could have been better But after watching today's scenes really as you said it rounded things off with an amazing breakdown scene,hats off to NM-SC👏,amazing performance,heart touching,i can't say how can these manage to outdid themselves with each performance👏.the cinematography was beautiful.

Really it was one of the best episode,it is best executed NDE ,myself was crying 😭 throughout the last scene,really I didn't expect such intense scene will be there in bus incident,kudos to SC crying 👏, her relief when Shivay appeared,NM break down👏,he deserve one more award for this scene👏.He was trying to be strong being SSO and all,but that NDE,those two kids running to him calling him bhaiya made him vulnerable Aww it was so emotional😭,there their hug looked more like mother-Son hug👏,now I want to see anika more like this.Shivaay can show his vulnerable side only to Anika,we never saw him crying infront of anyone other than Anika,Shivika (relationship)becoming beautiful with each episode,i want to see their all phases of life,as parents,as old age couple😆 and all,i know it doesn't happen😆 but they created such impact on us as if they are real👏

Now I understand why you had written such beautiful post👏,thursday Shivika scene really worth it.

I find Shortest kid of childhood Obros resembles childhood Nakuul 😆

Aww thank you so much for the kind words :) After many days, IB has given us a long streak of such depth emotionally that I've absolutely enjoyed analyzing it :)

+1...there was just SO much symbolism in this bit...so many ways we can look at it...peechhe dhalta suraj and yet, it shines bright as Shivaay walks in with the halo of the waning sunlight behind him...and then later on the fact that the setting sun was the backdrop for the "Suraj" of IB breaking down as well...powerful stuff indeed...

Still hard to find words to describe the rawness of the breakdown...I can keep finding nuances to point out...Anika's expression like she herself is gonna cry as she's rubbing her hand over his chest soothingly..."Koi nahin, koi nahin"...just a month or so back, she'd placed a soothing kiss on his chest in the jungle scene also...ek woh din tha, ek aaj ka din hai...aaj bhi she did it in such an organic manner...these little gestures speak SO much for how CONNECTED these two are.

I also must note how brilliantly NM did that entire feeling of losing your mind in grief...the way he was looking around all lost, his eyes blurry with tears...showing how utterly broken and lost he felt in that moment and then the way he'd cling to Anika like a little baby but again get overwhelmed by the pain and throw his head back...that back and forth...superb stuff.

Shivay's hand gesture in that halo background was the one you gesture for saying...Good, too good,fantastic,perfect, superb,etc...With your thumb and index finger together . The A-OK sign...If Iam not wrong.

I haven't been on LTL forum. I used to catch up on MohanNanhi scenes but haven't really been on NBT forum. Have been on 12/24 KB and Gulaal maximum and SMJ. Now here.
