I watch the show for Rikara because they are the ones that got me back to watching soaps after a long time. I started watching towards the end of DBO.. even then it was DBO and not its
Parent show that caught my attention. Hence I am on the same boat as u.. will watch if Rikara are shown and not as wall papers but together with some meaning full scenes even if it is only few mins a day.. if not then skip that day.As u said watching a show is not a community service.. it's to relax and enjoy something that u signed up for or rooting for.I am not a TRP contributor but I have a wide circle of friends back home who do contribute and I can say that we are all sailing on the same boat.

Word for word, same situation as above. Watched DBO when I visited India over the summer when I was missing all my English shows. First Indian soap I have watched in a long time. And despite the sorry storyline of DBO, watched it for Rikara. Quit and then made the mistake of checking in show just before Bareilly track and was so happy to see the improvement but then now I realize it was just for a few days.
Omkaras character always seemed a little confused when it came to if he wanted Gauri to stay or not but now the way the character is behaving in the show( unlike a pair deeply in love) I feel like asking Gauris question in the temple scene. Do you want me only cos someone else wants to marry me now? Because it looks like once he has his wife back, he has just forgotten about her. I know it's the Cvs to blame but I feel that question is so apt.
And DBO and dabang gauri are totally forgotten. Suddenly Gauri needs help to handle Svet when she handled her and Buama alone without any support from Omkara or anyone else.
And if anyone has noticed, even with less SS, Rikara spent more time with each other and in the bedroom when Om had not accepted her than now when they are supposed to be crazy In love. Haven't the CVS seen real life couples in love? You don't wonder where your wife is when she is missing. You don't go to her when she tells you that she was locked in a room. Both of you ask others what do you do in your bedroom but you don't even spend any time together let alone in bedroom. I think all the actors in the show are capable of much more than what's being written for them. I can go on and on and todays episode was like the nail in the coffin.

I am in the same zone. I was (am) obsessed with season 1 of another show released last year. I accidentally watched DBO's promo but the lead actors (KJ at the time, Shrenu following) acting drew me to the show. When a flashback scene of Omkaara was played, I was intrigued by the character and I saw all of IB to uderstand Omkaara's journey. I loved the depth and real flaws of the character and saw DBO again, continuing with IB now.
I love all the characters but connected to Rikara as a couple as I am slightly commitment phobic and I believe in self respect and equality in a relationship. The obsession was intensified when I saw 2 fantastic actors nailing even the characters flaws so it was hard to hate them as well. Though their story was slow (really slow due to inconsistencies), I loved how every thing was kept real.

Both characters, especially Om after his breakdown before DBO, aren't quick to fall in love but had their doubts and anger present. Now, I feel like the progress the couple made seems to go under the bus!

Om basically ignoring a character whom he loves, when he put his life in jeopardy to save her when he hated her? And Gauri, a girl who knew Svetlana as master and as a woman her best friend's/husband's hated fiance, is clueless about everything? Don't even get me started on Rudra! He was basically ignored and his love story is at a standstill with both Somya and Bhavya! I love family scenes and even Shivika, Rumya/Ruvya scenes as well. But when the characters I most connected to hardly showcase anything its really frustrating.

There are three couples and they each have a potential for a story. My favourite is Rikara and I'm not interested in the show if they are not shown. The PH says watch something else if you don't like it...well guess what, there is no shortage of shows. The PH needs to respect its viewers. After all we keep them afloat.

Gauri and Omkara are unique characters. Most recently we have seen them get back together. Now we barely see them in the same frame. They can't even stand together or exchange any dialogue.

The PH needs to decide in their story and who their leads are. Throwing in romance of one couple and ignoring the rest is not the way to retain an audience. Maybe they need to rethink what they are intending to show and then market is as such.

@Fari25. I agree with you completely. Are there no other writers left? I would think that if someone cannot do their job or are not inspired to do it then in the real world they would be fired.

Just one more thing I honestly want to say before I lay this to rest and make peace with myself!
Nobody is asking constant romance at all. Na ji Na
Just dont show the characters not even glancing at each other and totally oblivious to each other from Tuesday to thursday and then wham on monday and friday suddenly acknowledging each other and being close.

I guess we are all in the same boat. In addition to what you all have said i'd just like to add that with the absolute crap the writers are dishing out in the name of a story I have begin to feel that lack of RiKara may actually be a blessing in disguise for us. It has helped many of us detox and get over our unhealthy obsession and also with how the story is shaping up and what all OTT nonsense characters are made to do I am thankful that I don't have to watch RiKara crash and burn like that. Though it does hurt to see them in the BG being used as wallpapers, but if actors are okay with that there isn't much we can say.

The only thing that is working in IB's favour right now is its talented star cast. My love for RiKara aside, I like all actors on the show and most people are only sticking around for them. Gul should really invest in a new team of writers. Everything is a re-boot, most tracks give a feeling of deja vu and all of this has been done to death already on the show!

@peachesandcream: they'd be fired in the real world but here they have been retained to fry our brain cells! They haven't really written anything ground breaking for those they are insipired to write about either so that speaks volumes about their talent.
