Finally, I put this idea into words. This was supposed to be a OS, but will make it a TS and post it in two shots.

Happy Reading.!!

TS- || Nazdeekiyaan||

Shot 1

The sky was washed grey, the sun had disappeared too soon that day. The breeze was wild just like two hearts that night.

The fire, for a brief time, seemed to be offering respite from the winter storm outside. A dance of light and shadows spilled from the fireplace, turning the living room into a sanctuary of warm air. The heat from the fireplace warmed her as she gazed out of the living room window. Frost covered the edges of the window and it had started snowing. The sky had turned dark, she sighed.

She quickly ran a glance around the kitchen to see if the necessities were there. Relieved she went back to the small stone walled living room. She switched off the television which now only created noise, thanks to the weather.

She walked up to the old music player. Humming the romantic number she got to cleaning the messed up room, her thoughts involuntarily back to him. It had been an year she had left him, it had been a wrong decision, but back then it seemed the best.

The ground was covered in a thick blanket of snow. He pulled the long leather coat closer; despite the gloves his hands were cold. He pulled out the small piece of paper and looked at the sign board, a small smile graced his face. He followed the sign board pulling his scarf closer, covering his ears properly once again. He looked at the tree, snow-laid and cold, no lush green leaves. Oh, so much like him!

He walked up the slight slope of the small house, leaving light footprints in the snow. His heart skipped beats as he climbed every step to reach the door. He took a deep long breath. This should be it! For his heart had already sensed her!

She was flipping through the magazine sitting on the couch by the fireplace, when she felt a sudden change of air which made her look up. She glanced around, everything was just the same. She placed her hand on her thudding heart, hugging the magazine closer she closed her eyes.

"Tak-tak there was a knock on the wooden door. Her eyes flew open as her heart raced.

He looked around, the houses were sporadically placed, the early darkness was of no help. He turned to the door, his hope slowly dwindling, yet his heart racing.

She took a deep breath placing her hand on the handle of the door, slowly unlocking it.

She shivered as she was greeted by a biting wind, she opened her eyes to find no one in sight. She sighed, when suddenly a figure straightened up. He had bent to dust off the snow in his boots. She whiffed his aroma. He gasped looking at her finally, after days together.

Both froze, not just owing to the weather but also the sudden togetherness, it all seemed to be a dream. A cold dream, that would break once more. She blinked; his eyes scanned her face up and down. The long ignored biting wind made him shudder and he buried his hands deeper into his pockets. She noticed that. She was freezing cold herself. Somewhere softly the music kept humming as though just for them.

dekha hazaaron dafa aapko
phir beqarari kaisi hai
sambhale sambhalta nahi ye dil
kuch aap mein baat aisi hai

I have seen you a thousands of times,
then how's this restlessness,
this heart doesn't get controlled even on trying,
there is something such in you

"Mind if I come in? it's freezing

"Come in quickly; its freezing

They spoke in unison and immediately looked at each other. He stepped in jerking the snow off the boots. She shut the door and turned to look at him, rubbing her palms furiously. He got the boots off his feet. His feet were cold and pale. She analysed them and rushed inside and came back with a tub of warm water, placing it before the sofa adjacent to the fireplace, she called him forward.

"How long have you been walking in the cold?

"Seems forever now! he let his feet relax in the warm water, as his eyes met hers.

She immediately diverted her gaze. Silence engulfed as he shut his eyes trying to relax his thudding heart and his muddled mind. The silence was killing, she gazed at him, he was just the same except that he seemed more rugged than before. She stealthily picked up the magazine she had been reading and hid it away in the drawer of the side table. She sat wondering what was to come!

"Hungry? she finally put rest to her fighting thoughts by speaking her concern out.

A small smile cornered his lips, Very!

She analysed his face, having a hint off his meaning behind his words she got up to prepare something quickly for him. He held her hand, breathing deeply she stopped slowly preparing to turn to look at him. Those butterflies she hadn't felt for days and months seemed to come alive in her stomach. She glanced at him. towel?

She simply nodded not getting what she expected, she quickly diapered into a small room and returned with a towel in hand. Wiping his feet he slowly stood on the fur carpet, which made his feet feel better. Accustomed to the temperature of the warm room, he removed his coat.

"No, wear it, you are not used to the cold. She reprimanded.

"I am...very much " he folded his coat keeping it aside, his eyes not leaving hers, as his jaw muscles stiffened.

She looked away not able to look into those eyes of his, which questioned her, scolded her, accused her, and still loved her.

He closed the distance between them and she stiffened. He took yet another step towards her. She could feel him. It felt like for years she had been deprived of this warmth, his warmth, his presence. She din't want to back off, like she had done before.

"Anika!

She gently closed her eyes as her name escaped his lips as beautifully as ever. He couldn't help but simper. If she hadn't had the strength she had, she would have collapsed to the floor crying her heart out.

"can we talk?

She simply nodded in a no, taking a step away. She felt weak.

He sighed, reminding himself to be patient, anger would do no good. A million questions he had to ask, and she was willing to answer none.

He held her hand before she could move away, Ok dance!?!

She looked up at him bewildered, at his request. Perhaps, he knew she couldn't say a no.

He quickly resumed the music she had paused.. His arm circled around her waist pulling her closer. If it was a dream it, he din't wish for the morning to the dawn.

Pal Bhar Na Doori Sahein Aap Se
Betaabiyaan Ye Kuch Aur Hain
Hum Door Hoke Bhi Paas Hain
Nazdeekiyan Yeh Kuch Aur Hain

I Won't Bear Distance From You Even For A Moment,
This Eagerness Is Something Different.
We Are Far, And Yet Close,
This Closeness Is Something Different.

He pulled her closer, his eyes not willing to leave her face.

"Its cold ! he wanted to strike a conversation as they swayed.

"I m used to it! she simply said, resting her arm on his shoulder.

He swirled her around, letting her back rest against his chest. "I meant your hands! he whispered.

She turned back to look at him, he dragged her arms around his neck, which was warm. She parted her lips slightly at the contact. She was closer than before. Both were sinking in the renewed warmth they hadn't felt for months together.

She finally gave in and interlocked her gaze with his. He leaned closer letting her feel his every breath.

Dekha Hazaaron Dafaa Aapko
Phir Beqarari Kaisi Hai
Sambhale Sambhalta Nahi Ye Dil
Kuch Pyar Mein Baat Aisi Hai

Aagosh Mein Hain Jo Aapki
Aisa Sukoon Aur Paayen Kahan
Aankhen Humein Ye Raas Aa Gayin
Ab Hum Yahaan Se Jaaye Kahaan

Now That I Am In Your Arms,
Where Shall I Find Such Peace.
These Eyes Have Suited Me,
Now Where Shall I Go From Here.

He gently inched closer resting his chin on her shoulder. She hitched in a deep breath, so did he. The closeness they had missed.

Brace Yourself! Long Shot 2900 words!
Shot 2:(Last )

"Why?" He whispered gently not moving away even after the song had faded.

"I thought you were hungry." She pulled her arms away. He held on to her waist. "I need an answer, answers" he corrected, his voice firm.

" I don't want to talk about it."

She stepped away, managing to free herself. He followed her to the small kitchen. He was rather surprised at the neatly kept kitchen. So unlike her, and much like him. If she dint want to talk straight, even he was Shivaay Singh Oberoi, who got what he wanted.

"Black Coffee?" She spoke as she put the pasta to boil.

"Tea. Green Tea!" He observed her closely.

She looked up at him baffled.

"I will help myself!" He took the kettle and put the water to boil.

"You?"

"Black Coffee!"

His eyebrow cocked up in surprise but he dint make it evident.

They stood facing each other, with cups in hand. "Nice place, warm and cosy!" He spoke glancing and moving around.

She nodded, walking out, following him. He looked aside at the small table by the fireplace, remembering what had happened a while ago, he casually reached the table and pulled open the drawer slightly. He had heard the drawer slide when his eyes were closed. He quickly glanced inside to find a business magazine having his picture on the cover. An involuntary smile appeared on his face, he jerked it closed."Nice wooden furniture."

She hummed absentmindedly, at whatever he said, broken out of her thoughts she diverted her gaze at him from the window. She sat on the couch by the fireplace, feeling rather awkward. He sat right beside her,a couple of inches apart. Both staring away outside. She sipped the bitter coffee. She dint like it a bit, but she had got accustomed to its taste. Without looking at her, he took away her cup and placed his in her hands.

She looked at him, caring to give no explanation he simply sipped the coffee, after what seemed ages, he tasted his favorite drink with the little taste of her lips.

"What?" She asked perplexed.

"Care to give an explanation?" She added frowning

"Did you? " he turned to her. "Before leaving me... your husband, your family...?"

She looked aside.

"Talk to me Anika, enough of this." After a pause, "Please" he whispered.

She quickly walked past him to the kitchen. He rubbed his head in frustration, looking at her retreating figure. He had waited long enough. Making his mind he followed her.

"Acha ye sab chodo, you missed me?"

Simply giving him a stare she continued to do the task in hand. He leaned closer, rather playfully, which intimated her.

"Koi aur mil gaya kya?"

This time she glared at him.

"By the way, Gauri's pregnant, Everyone's happy, Daadi's getting older but turning to a child, Rudra has matured, and Omkara's never been a happier man. Only -

you are missing, I mean they miss you. A lot. "

She smiled widely, she missed them too. He noticed every bit of that curve.

He still knew how to read her thoughts. But he wasn't speaking for himself. She looked into his eyes and she knew, he had missed her more than anyone. Her heart grew heavy, his eyes held so much pain. She knew every shade of that pain, for she was in it too.

Occasionally looking at each other they finished the dinner. He was silent, he wanted her to speak but she was too much into her own thoughts and the contemplation of past decisions to say anything.
While he simply was cherishing her presence.

She was done doing the utensils, not a word exchanged between them, while he simply kept gazing at her, occasionally silently helping her. Both, were quietly enjoying and cherishing each others presence. She wiped her hands and turned to face him. Wondering what he would say. He dint say a word just simply looked deeply into her eyes, screaming the pain. The one she had given ! She knew she had given pain, immense pain, and also regretted it. Her insecurities and fears had won over her love for him!

She couldn't look at him anymore. She was broken inside and she could not show it out, she could not give him more pain. She was about to exit, when his hand held hers and pulled her. Her back collided against his chest. His hands held hers and circled around to her stomach. He bent his head over her shoulder while she closed her eyes feeling his breath. His nose gently nuzzled ,while his fingers gently caressed hers.

"Shivaay!" A musical whisper left her lips.

He hitched in a breath. Only she could take his name that melodiously.

He squeezed his eyes shut. The feeling weren't new, but forgotten. He felt like the parched land that had been blessed with water after years of scorching hot weather.

Silent tears slipped down, she quickly wiped it her eyes still closed.

He turned her to face him. Her eyes remained closed. She was broken he could tell. Her hands fisted his shirt. Her body stiff. She was scared, very scared, her body language was screaming her fearful state. He gently rubbed her back, and bent his face, his forehead placed against hers. She relaxed slowly.
He patiently waited, his gaze fixed at her. Her eyelashes fluttered as she finally raised her gaze to look at him.

The eye lock, intense. Their eyes screaming complaints-of separation. He kissed her forehead. Gentle pecks on her eyes. His fingers now intertwined with his fingers. His grip increasing as he inched to her lips. Her heart thudding against her ribs. She shifted her face slightly, consequently his lips reached her cheeks.

He pulled her closer by her waist, if that was possible, while his other hand continued their ministrations on her hand.

Her denial only increased his desire. In a quick move she was against the stone wall. Her hands captured by his. He bent down and conquered her lips into a kiss. She struggled to free her hands. He groaned, leaving her hands and cupping her face to deepen the kiss. Once free her hands moved to his shoulder, allowing him to have his way. She had missed him, just like he had.

His hands explored her frame, while her hands moved to his hair, kissing him insane.

Breathing heavily they broke apart, their eyes not wanting to break the interlock. He bent down his head on her shoulder. His lips pressed against the cloth over her shoulder. He cried. In no time she felt him crying.

He clinged on tightly to her. She wrapped her hands around him, hugging him back. Her hands vigorously moving on his back. Streams trickling down her face. She was broken and so was he. It was all her fault. She had wanted to protect something beautiful that was between them, she had broken it.

"I m sorry!" She sobbed.

"Shhh". He said breaking apart to look at her.
She broke into bitter sobs. He quickly pulled her closer resting her head on his chest. Gently rubbing her arms, he stood their. Feeling her pain.

The night had grown, it was still snowing and cold. He sat his back against the bed rest, on the cosy bed in the stone walled bed room. She sat close beside him, her head resting on his chest. His one hand rested on her shoulder the other played with her fingers.

She shifted her gaze from their hands to him, smiling, as he won the finger battle again. He smiled back pecking her forehead.

" I love you! "
She spoke sitting up straight to face him. He looked at her, smiling gently. Finally she had made up her mind to verbalize the complications her heart held.
She held his hand between hers.

Her voice heavy as she spoke, sniffing a bit due to all the crying. His entire attention was focused on her. He gulped taking a deep breath waiting to listen.

"I...M ...sorry!" She hesitated, gripping his hands tightly. He adjusted himself and kept his free hand over hers.

"I can fight against the world, but not you, Shivaay! I know we had differences, Maine try bhi kiya Thaa, lekin nahi hua Shivaay. Naa hi Aap Galt hain naa hi main, him alag hai. Lekin roz roz ki ladaai..." She placed her forehead on his hands crying.

He had tears in his eyes, as his gaze remained fixed on her as flashes of the past ran before his eyes.

Enough Anika! You know what you are the problem.

Haan problem toh main hoon. Aap toh galat ho hi nshi sakte. Gussa aapka lekin galti meri.

Exactly, its all because of you. I was fine, but as soon as you come, that's it. You know what it's pointless talking. Because tumhe toh sirf tum sahi lagti ho, main toh galat hoon.

"I m sorry, Anika. Instead of understanding your point of view, I ...I spoilt it..I m So...!"
She covered his mouth nodding in a no. He quickly wrapped his arms around her bringing her closer. She felt home in his warmth. Her cold insecurities slipped away and all that now enveloped her was the warmth of his love and understanding. She no longer felt abandoned like she felt every single day without him. She was home! Her home-his heart, his arms, HIM!

"Enough of this crying, no more!" He opke as he broke apart to wipe those tears.

"I m sorry!" She whispered again not wanting to let him go away.

"Anika, no more sorry, no more of the past. No fighting. No Unwanted Tadi. I promise I will..

".. Shh no promises Shivaay. Ye Vows aur promises dil mein ache lagte gain zubaan pe nahi."

He smiled.

"Aur...thodi fighting toh allowed hain naa, main aapse lade bina kaise rahoongi?" She spoke childishly.
He raised an eyebrow looking down at her face which was leaning against his chest. "Ladte ladte itne door ho gaye..."

"...ladte ladte toh pass aaye thee naa" she gently took away her head, cupping his face.

"Phir dhoor gayi naa, toh main ma..!"

She didn't allow him to complete that, and seized his lips in a soft reassuring kiss.

His arms automatically wrapped around her back as he lied down with her on him.

She sat on him, tenderly looking at him, as she broke the kiss. He closed his eyes, while she gently ran her fingers over his face. She felt his heart thudding. She gently lowered herself on him, her forehead against his. Hugging him tight she closed her eyes drifting away into sleep, with no regrets no insecurities nothing but love and completeness.

This was what she had missed. The closeness of their hearts. But their souls were always one. In the past they had been close, very close but they had held on to their selves as individuals. But time, the separation had taught them, they couldn't individually exist. It was just them.

The morning was still cold, but she felt warm. She gently allowed the new light enter her. As her eyes opened, he was the first thing she saw. Her lips curved up mirroring his. "Good morning" he whispered, tucking her hair behind her ear. She circled his arm around his neck, pulling him closer.

"When did you wake up!?"

"Before you as always!" He rubbed his nose against hers.

She giggled. "How long have you been seeing me like that?"

"I lost track of time." He simpered.

She smiled back her heart fluttering at his words and smile, she fell for him again!

She squeezed her arms a fraction tighter around him, her body melting into his. He had a good look at her lips. He slowly closed in, but before he could she steered looking at the window. "Shivaay, its sunny!"

He frowned in confusion. "What!?"

She turned over him and he looked baffled registering his wife's sudden excitement.

"The sun is shining. It rarely happens here, after such a cold night.Let's Go!"

"What? Where?" He asked lying flat on the bed with his wife sitting over him, like an excited little girl looking out of the window with shining eyes.

He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her close, gently rubbing her arm, to divert her attention to him. Her stomach fluttered at the feeling of her body pressed against his. She was sinking into his warmth. His touch made the room warmer somehow. She pulled herself away, "let's go".

" no " he hummed pulling her back, getting back the warmth and scent.

"Shivaay!"

"Anika!"

"it's Beautiful Shivaay!

OK I m going !" She scrambled out.

He turned to the other side pulling the blanket closer. He hadn't slept well ever since she left. Whenever he slept with her he never wished to get out of bed and her warmth. Much unlike him.

A few minutes later, she was sitting beside him, coaxing him to wake up, holding his coat in hand. He opened an eye partially looking at her all decked up in jacket and the cute pink cap over her head.

She smirked and started tickling him, he woke immediately shouting to her to stop.

"Good, now let's go!" She spoke excitedly.

"No" he spoke lazily, pulling her closer. "I have other plans."

"Shivaay!" She chided him freeing her arm and standing up, the blush lighting up her face more dazzlingly.

Pulling him up by the hand she quickly made him stand and pushed his shoulders making him to move the washroom. He held her hand pulling her inside.

"Shivaay!" She rolled her eyes, smiling like an idiot."Fast!"

She once again fixed his cap, before stepping out.
"Its fine Anika!" He said once again. His wife was sceptical about protecting him from the bitter wind.
"Now it is! Gloves?" She asked.

He raised his hands in air to show her that he had already put it on.

"Ab chale?" He asked, looking at her dramatically.
She nodded, "Tell me if you feel too cold, we will come back."

"How can I feel cold when my hot wife is by my side!" He nuzzled closer. She punched him slightly, blushing profusely.

Arms in arms they walked towards the road to walk up the nearby hill, the view best point nearby. The street was decorated like a birthday cake, frosting everywhere.he pulled her closer, their arms entangled as they walked up. The entire way he only had prayers of gratitude to make. She made his life beautiful. While she secretly sent up prayers asking for their togetherness forever.

"Anika, we are living our honeymoon once more!" He commented cheesily.

She met his eyes, blushing, at the memories,
"You always wanted a winter honeymoon, see here we are !" He softly ran his glove clad fingers on her palm.

"Its Better than the Beach in Summer!" She exclaimed.

"And bitter too!" His voice trailed off chuckling, as he tucked his hand into his pocket.

His eyes widened in surprise, the view was spellbinding. He slowly pulled back his hand from her shoulder and moved around. "Wow!"

She smiled. "See I told you!"

The morning sun was shining over the snow making them glow. The snow-caped peak were dazzling like diamonds. He faced his head to the sun. The sun had never felt so soothing.

She turned to the other side and looked in the direction from where the wind came rushing. She folded her hands letting the cold wind touch her. But, dint feel cold. His arms were around her, his face rested against her ear. Their eyes closed. Never had they felt so much in content with each other. The closeness had never been so tenderly soothing and content.

The rest remain forgotten.

Dikhti nahi hain,
par ho rahi hain mehsoos nazdeekiyan
Do dil hi jaanein,
Lagti hain kitni mehfooz nazdeekiyan.

One can't see, but can feel the closenesses,
Only the two hearts know how safe they feel in closenesses.❤️

This is the loveliest piece in terms of writing...it had a kind of poetic touch to it... The words were simply seamless... Like music... But the underneath emotions of both being away from one another is evident...
Since they met my heart felt a Sukoon...I can never imagine these two being seperate... Though these are fictional characters I simply cannot /don't want them to be away from each other...
Eagerly waiting for next update...
