Chapter 1
I belonged to a middle class family. My mother raised me and my sister Anshika (Anshu) by herself. Although she was a single mother, she was brave, she had all the courage needed to face the society. She worked as a principal in a primary school. Her job was petty but her dreams were huge. She wanted us to study in the schools ran by the international countries such as England. The fee was 20,000 and rich kids studied on those schools. I was mortified as the chances of getting bullied was high as I was a simple girl from a small school. I didn't know how those kids speak, wear etc. I just hoped for the best. My Mumma was always a gentle and calm lady, my father died when I was 4. I don't remember what I did with him, all I have is pictures. As far as my mum told me, my dad was in the navy, and one day he was battling in the sea with his submarine and someone shot him and he died. My dad was in the seas half of the year, he used to right letters to Mumma, which Mumma still has. Mumma always narrates us the stories of his bravery, I don't think my mum was none the less, the society forced her to marry someone else but my Mumma... She gave her heart to Captain Rawat that she couldn't think about marrying someone else. Sweet love story, wish my love story will be like Vidya Rawat and Abhimanyu Rawat...
The night before going to school...
Anshu slept with ease and I kept tossing and turning as I was unable to sleep with the worries slithering on my useless brains. Anshu was really irritated with me so she went to the living room and laid on the couch and blabbered nonsense about me. I was happy as I could do anything on the bed without irritating anyone. I was annoyed with my brain having nonsense thoughts swerving around my head which made feel dizzy. I kept thinking about me being bullied or someone making fun of me. I always wanted to know how Anshu was able to sleep so quickly?
Next Day...
I woke up a bit later than usual as I stayed up awake for so long that my eyes needed sleep. I quickly went to brush my tooth and while brushing I remembered the strange dream I had. I saw a pair of glistening hazel eyes, those eyes were ever so beautiful. I didn't know who's eyes it was as I was unable to see their face but those eyes, those eyes were beautiful... I told Anshu about it and she answered with a ridiculous reply "Maybe, Anu di, those eyes might belong to your Prince Charming... Who knows!?"
"Anshu do you know what my biggest mistake was? Telling you about this! Anshu Prince Charming only exists in fairytales, thats why, that's why I told you to not to watch so much of cartoons and tv shows!" I said vexatiously.
"Di... Prince Charming is from Cinderella which is a movie not a cartoon. You are always watching strange shows on the TV, I mean you watch cartoon but the ones who are meant for grown ups!"
"Anshu, I am not a kid, I don't like the cartoon you watch, they are childish, and I am not in a mood to fight with, I spent 10 mins already, Mumma is gonna be angry!" I dictated furiously.
I trembled while I was putting on my uniform, first I had to wear a polo shirt with the school name "Collingwood College" and the logo
then I had to wear the sweatshirt it was royal blue with also the school name "Collingwood College" and its logo.
Then I wore the greyish skirt made of cotton. I looked like a student from Collingwood and my uniform was shining like a diamond. Although I wasn't looking forward to that school, I kinda felt proud. My Mumma dropped me off to the school, I saw the massive gates welcoming me.
Mumma gave me a blissful kiss on my forehead and wished me all the best for my new school. I waved bye and didn't tell me worries to her. I was shocked to know that this school is gonna follow the English schools, so we were gonna have the same holidays as people in England, except in religious programs we were allowed to have a holiday, but even more SHOCKING IS... that we were ONLY allowed to speak ENGLISH! The bell rang and the lovely teachers guided me to my classroom, which they called "forms" where we were meant to be for the rest of our time in Collingwood. We had timetables, where it stated what lessons and classrooms we had to go to during the day. My form was 9G, 9 because I am in Year 9 (Standard 9) and G is the different forms. I went to my form and my form tutor (Teacher who manages the form) gave me a warm welcome and introduced me to the whole class. I struggled to speak English but don't know how I managed to do it fluently. I sat next to a girl called Avika. She was nice but to be honest I didn't like her. She was way too quite, I mean new school gave me a drastic change, from being a chatty to absolutely quiet person, now even I am a quiet person but she didn't utter a single word. I found out, she is my guide for the day so I have to follow her everywhere. I checked my timetable and the first lesson I had is Registration/Form Time which didn't count as the first lesson for some reason so technically my first lesson was Geography, then Science then Art, English and lastly Maths.
Form Time was over and I followed Avika to Geography. We had a seating plan where our teachers put us in different tables next to random people (for me they were random). For the seating plan the rule was "boy, girl, boy, girl" meaning you had to sit next to a boy. "What a treat!" I thought sarcastically. We were put in register order meaning it will go in order of your surname, example if you have a surname which is "Mishra" you will have to sit next to someone who either has surnames beginning with "L, M, P" Etc... My surname was Rawat so I was put next to Shivaay Singh Oberoi as there was no one with a surname beginning with "P". I was expecting him to be one of the nasty guys. He didn't turn out to he what I expected him to be, he is well chatty, talks to everyone, and kind of annoying, I mean really really really annoying. Annoyed me whole lesson with his useless bottle flips. Like seriously...
Do comment so I know if I am doing well. Take care...
