so here comes the first drabble of the series..
DRABBLE ONE : SELF MADE GAURI
Gauri was running here and there to all the men who just barged into her house and were taking away the things forcibly as they did not pay the past 4 months rent. She was trying to stop them and was begging them to give her some more time so that she can pay them money and was trying to explain her situation to them regarding her mother's health and her friend's marriage which was planned to be held in their house. But the men were not interested to listen to her and were busy in throwing the things out.
That was when the man who was always her saviour reached the place. He was shocked to see her running here and there and trying to stop the men. He couldn't see her pleading them with folded hands. He couldn't see her in that state. He went near her, stopped her and then started talking to men. He understood the matter and when she again started to plead them for sometime he couldn't bear it anymore and stopped her. he carefully handled the matter and paid the men their amount and even convinced Gauri and her family for his stay in their house as a tenant till he setup a sweet shop. He even said that he would supply the sweets required for Richa's shaadi from his shop. Finally on the insistence of her mother and friend Gauri agreed to allow dilpreet as their tenant.
After placing everything back in their house gauri sat in the balcony at the back of their house. Richa too joined her. and omkara who was searching for her to assure that she was fine also followed richa and reached balcony but was unnoticed by both the girls. Richa asked gauri "Thank God that Dilpreet saved us today. And why are you not sending money from past 4 months? Earlier you have sent them on time.. lost in her own thoughts which gauri replied, " At that time I was working and I saved my money and sent them to mother but now I have no job how can I send? richa was confused with the working of gauri and asked her where she worked. Listening to the question gauri realised what she said and corrected herself "I used to help my husband and his bade bhayya in certain tasks and they used to pay me to encourage me but now I am not doing that so how can I send money? I need to think something about it?
Richa seemed convinced with the answer and said "what is there so much to think? You ask your husband to take the responsibility of your mother too. It is his duty right? gauri disagrees on her words and say her, "No richa my mother is my responsibility till the day I am alive I have to and I want to take care of her on my own will. I cant ask anyone to take that responsibility even if it is my husband too. I cant see my mother depending on others when I am still alive. Richa wanted to explain something more but had to cut the talk hearing her mother's voice from inside who was calling her to check up the next day's roka ceremony's dress. Richa left and gauri stood by lost in her thoughts.
Omkara was shocked listening to her words. Till today he misunderstood her that she could do anything for money but she was a self made girl and has a very high self respect. He really felt ashamed that he could never understand her and never tried to understand her. He failed to recognize that in the past few months when she was in their house she never tried to exploit anyone her house in any way. She had free hand to take any amount of money or any jewels with her and do what ever she want and no one would question but she never did that and always cleared that she never had any right on them as they belonged to his wife and to the daughter in law of their house.
He remembered the day when he accused her that she wasnt ready to leave his house as she wanted money and jewels. he remembered the day when he destroyed her shop with the help of which she earned her living. He wanted to hit himself hard for all those accusations and actions.
He wanted to talk to her and help her in some way but how? And before he could react he saw her calling someone on mobile and she spoke "dandi bhayya. Its me gauri. I am here in bareily now but in 10 days I will be back in Mumbai and I have no place to stay so till I find a job and get a place to live can you please help me out. and she cut the call with a smile and sent a thank you looking up at the sky thanking her lord. omakara realised that probably dandi had promised to help her.
Her words to dandi on call killed him more. She was his wife. His brother considered her as his own sister her mother and daadi adored her but instead of approaching them she was making plans to leave bareily in few days and start her own life and earn for herself and her mother. He admired the strength in her but was ashamed that he misunderstood her at every step of their relation. He then remembered the words when she said she I always sleep on floor because when someone sleeps on floor they will be rooted down to earth.' He never believed her words and accused her of acting infront of him to impress him but today he realized that what she was, and that she never pretended infront of him and he was blind to see the real her.
He then decided that he would solve this problem from her life forever. He went inside and called his brother and asked to buy the house where gauri and her mother were staying and asked to register it on gauri's name. He also said that the deal should not come out now and he would tell her everything only after she forgives him truly. He doesn't want to use this as a step in his redemption but he wanted this to be her gift when she will forgive him whole heartedly and accept him back in her life. this was his way of showing her that he wanted her completely along with all her responsibilities and problems.
