Time and again we've told or have been told, don't take it seriously because it is fiction after all or it is just a show, it's not real. But the inevitable is that we end up taking it far too seriously, firstly because they allow us a form of escapism and secondly because many of them have the capacity of pulling us into an illusory world and make it appear real. We invest our time, energy and emotions and become attached to people who aren't even real. The emotions tug at our hearts, the pain of the characters mirror in our hearts. We know it's unhealthy and yet we struggle to detach ourselves.
What makes it hard to understand the faking of selective amnesia is not the improbability of it, but the presentation. Because as rare as it is, it can happen. I know of a real young couple where the husband suffered amnesia and didn't recognize his wife. A woman having complete faith in her husband is admirable and if the said husband is worthy of that trust deserve equal admiration. But the question lies whether it is acceptable to hurt a person for their own sake or if there is a limit of tolerance to pain. At what point does a person snap? How far should a person take another's love for granted? It makes you wonder what would have happened if this was real life. Would Annika really be able to bear her husband announcing another woman as his wife? Isn't Shivaay putting too much at stake? What if he loses Annika in the process? Is it really worth it? But it is fiction after all so we must buy into it.
Whether someone wants to address their own feelings or not, is it their prerogative. Can an individual who was not willing to commit in the first place demand commitment from someone else? Is it fair to want the rights and privileges of a spouse when the same was not handed out? How much does a person have to prove themselves in order to be considered trustworthy? Is the whole ordeal really worth it? If this was real life, would Om not be considered duplicitous? Would Gauri have really stayed with Om after being accused of lying and cheating over and over again? But it is fiction after all so all will be fine in the end and Gauri must walk the path of fire.
There are two kinds of men, one that respect women and one that don't. A person can be shallow and immature. But a man who was taught to respect women and has respected women in the past would not forget his learning and slander a woman in public. In the real world, the lowest of low lives would go and make such a demonstration at someone's wedding. Rudy has been lowered to that level but very soon, he would be elevated back to the old Rudra for which I am thankful.I want to forget that incident as a bad dream and I am glad Rudy is away for sometime from Bhavya because the memory is still fresh. No girl would still have images of such a guy in their phones, certainly not the independent and self-respecting Bhavya who wears a uniform. But this is fiction after all so it's all part of growing up.
The one thing that is completely logical and believable is grey people being grey. Partners in crime suspecting each other of deceit. Did I mention how much I enjoyed watching this one thing in last night's episode? Because it is the one thing that is plausible. It was a treat to watch TejVi and ShinKy arrive in their individual cars and gather at the derelict Kalyani mills. Secrets can't remain hidden forever. Whatever the sins of the past, karma does come back to bite you.
