As she stood waiting for her prey to arrive Tanya checked the phone to make sure that it had enough battery power. Nothing could go wrong now. This had to work as she had already failed to stop the marriage in time. She had already lost precious time and had to improvise now what with the man being married already.
She had tried so very hard to get to Shivvay before he had married Annika and publically taken her as his wife but Abhay had been there at every turn. That man was infuriatingly meddling and doggedly persistent. He even managed to worm his way in before she could make it into the Oberoi Mansion and that had made her think of an alternative way to sneak into the mansion, making her lose precious time in the bargain. Then to top it all he was seemed to be everywhere, managing all aspects of the function and the arrangements as if it was his brother's wedding not OmRu's.
That is why, as a last resort, she had to toss the crumpled ball of paper along with the flower petals at Shivvay while he was in the Mandap hoping that it would go unnoticed by all standing there, especially Abhay. When Shivvay had bent to pick it she almost stopped breathing but here again fate did not work in her favour and it was left right there, untouched. The marriage complete she had tried to find the crumpled ball but it had gone missing. She had hoped that Shivvay had picked it and had driven here to this secluded place waiting for him to arrive.
As the bright lights of the approaching car blinded her she pushed herself away from the car she was leaning on and felt a small victory in her heart. The car screeched to a halt and she could make out the figure of a man step out and slam the door shut.
"What do you want? Why did you call me here?", asked the voice with restrained anger, still standing behind the car lights, not approaching her.
"I have a secret here Shivvay that could destroy your Family", she said, laughing cruelly in relief as she recognized his voice. So he had come at last. She was informed correctly that his weakness would always be his Family .
"What secret and how can I trust that it is true? You could very well be making this up", he rasped in controlled fury, his voice changing a bit she assumed because he was trying hard to hold his temper.
"You can look at it yourself and decide if you think it is true or not", she replied nonchalantly as she held the phone out to him.
As she looked towards him wearing a malicious grin with the full knowledge that she had trapped him finally, she noticed the other car door open slowly and her head snapped towards the figure that stepped out.
She watched in absolute horror as Annika stepped out of the car in full bridal finery, walking towards her with the stealth of a tigress, her eyes as hard as onyx's and her beautiful mouth set in a grim line as opposed to the soft smile she had worn during her wedding. Tanya looked at Shivvay in shock as he grinned and casually strolled to the front of the car, hopping to sit comfortably on the bonnet, as if ready to be entertained.
"What!!?? How !!??", stuttered Tanya as she looked from a calm Shivvay, his arms folded across his chest, seated on the bonnet of the car to Annika, face set like stone and eyes as hard as them, approaching her determinedly.
"Your note said to come and meet you here", yelled Shivvay teasingly, "it did not say who should and since Annika was the finder of the crumpled note I did not have a choice but to drive her over here", he finished as he flashed his white teeth in a grin.
Then as an afterthought he lightly slapped his head and continued, "... and by the way Abhay sends his regards. He says to bring you back with us. He has an old score to settle with you."
It was then that Tanya saw the resemblance between the Tiger and his Tigress and wondered if she had bitten off more than she could have chewed.
Soon she found Annika standing before her, blocking off her view of Shivvay completely as if he was off limits to even look at as her legally married husband.
As she questioned with a voice that held a very real threat, "What is this about keeping My Family from harm that you wrote in this note?", holding the note that was tucked inside a ziplock bag no doubt to keep intact the fingerprints that Tanya had been foolish enough to leave on them.
That was when Tanya understood why Annika was always praised by the media of being worthy of the title of Mrs. ASSO.
With that single move Annika had made, Tanya had lost the battle even before the war had begun.
