Leaps can recharge a show I agree, only if they are made by competent production houses. And that is the problem with IB, this PH is stretched out so thin, that they have made a kichdi of all tracks.

Theoretically a Shivika separation should have led to increased trps. A Shivika shaadi should have led to sky-rocketing trps (it's a shaadi after all). But that hasn't been the case. The cvs don't seem to have a learned a thing or two from their failures this year, as they keep introducing tracks and dropping tracks at the drop of a hat. And so, if a leap happens, then they will carry it forward in the same way they've done the separation and shaadi tracks, by making it incredibly half-baked with new wooden characters and repetitive scenes.

The previous time "lapse" was only tolerable because it was only for 3 months. So it was easy to fix their mistake and bring Anika back to OM. A 5 year leap, there's no way to get back from that if they do it poorly. And it's highly likely at this point that they would handle it quite poorly. So until they can handle the pressure of a leap, I say keep it off for now

You know what an AMAZING writer and thinker and over all person you are?
If this fandom can convince GulNeet to hire you, will you consider it?because Aapke mooh mein, Dahi Saagar🤗

I hate leaps, and was otherwise opposed till I read this post 😆 mostly because most TV Leaps wreck the plot and come at a awful time and coincide with separation.

However, one thing I mentioned on the EDT and here too, will be that Shivika can't be apart. for sure. Not only is it the usp of the show but also, there is nothing that can force them apart anymore *shrugs*

Other than that, I have no problem if its executed properly. and somehow, I find it difficult to believe that GulNeet can do that now, looking at the previous several tracks and past track record.
---------
edit:

so Gul has confirmed its a two week time jump, so barely a lump 😆

The two week leap may seem like a big deal, but they need it to "freshen" up the story and wipe the slate clean of all the half done tracks that started and never ended.

It could be as simple as
shivaye announcing Annika and him are going on a honeymoon, and because the other two couple; Rudy-bhavya and Rikara are going through THEIR separation track...so they can't shoot scenes with them...or have either Bhavya and Gauri show up so soon...

and then the next scene would be Shivika coming in with "honeymoon" pictures and Bhavya and Gauri showing up at the house too 😆

I didn't know about this spoiler at all..
but after reading your POV .. and the fact that we are literally not getting any TRPs at all.. I guess this is the only way to save our siniking ship.. 😭
So the leap it is.. and it's on the way.. just praying they think about it the same way as you do.. the character graph and the growth and for once no a Shivika separation... please..

I would take everything on social media with a grain of salt. Last separation was rejected by TRP audience so I doubt it will happen again.

Navin your post made me come and comment on this forum in ages. Due to lack of time I have not been watching IB for several weeks. The 45 minute episodes online are difficult for me to catch up on daily due to being too busy. I also feel a lot of the time the story is being dragged or rushed. It has no consistency and has not for a long time., As always Gul is very superficial in her treatment of most tracks and subjects. Look at the way they dismissed the whole Mahi drama? The only reason I continued to watch this show was for the cast. Most of the time they saved this show. But even their abilities have a limit.

I dont know if a leap will help, but considering the same blase people are creating this and writing this, I don't know if it will be as good as you expect it to be. I for one am not sure if I will continue to watch the show. I have missed about 3 weeks and I feel quite unmotivated to catch up. It's sad as this was a show I once loved and the characters I still love. But I cant watch something that is so haphazard and just does not have any integrity in storytelling. There are several shows on SP who do a superlative job of moving their story, character consistency, and growth and well-executed tracks. IB and Gul shows in general struggle with this. Because they press re-set constantly and don't keep up with the tracks they introduce. They have a lot of loopholes and bad at closing loops as well. Their so-called "Story Arcs" can only be seen by them!

Anyways, for old times sake I hope whatever they are doing works for them. But frankly, I am no longer sure if I will continue. I am no longer invested and that is probably why I have not commented on this forum in weeks now. When I stop commenting, that means I have checked out. I was watching the show, but could not muster the enthusiasm to comment. But once again, I wish IB the best!
