I'm in two minds about where to start this post from...a bit like Shivaay trying to figure out where to start his letter from...oops sorry, letter nahin chitthi😆 (repeated 10 times in one breath a la Billu)
BW has already made a wonderful post as an ode to Billu, so I'll talk about the bit that made the most impact on me at first watch...
A lot has been hashed out over the last week regarding "three magical words"...a cheesy phrase to begin with to describe an "I love you"😆...but if that's the way we are going to go, for me the three most "magical words" in today's scene were "My Dear Anika"...perhaps it was just a small bit in an otherwise very long scene with a lot of other beautiful and heartfelt dialogues from Shivaay...but it touched my heart...especially for the way Shivaay worked his way up from an "Anika" to a "Dear Anika" and then a "My Dear Anika" that he then repeated a few more times, smiling to himself, his tone switching into one filled with so much heartfelt emotion, as if all his love for her could be encapsulated into those three words..."My Dear Anika"...
Daadi interrupting at this moment to tease him was simply adorable😆...I had to LOL over him making the excuse of staring at the NIB of the new fountain pen to pretend that he isn't writing a letter😆...so Billu he was here...alternating b/w his silly excuses and blushing smiles while Daadi was all of us enjoying pulling his leg over his chui mui Lajwanti mode😆
How would any such scene be complete without quintessential Billu quirks😆...LOL@ him facepalming over Daadi's besuri singing and Daadi is being extra adorable since yesterday, seriously😆
And that one random bit after he got up from the desk when he turned around like he heard/saw something there😆
Perhaps it's an old fashioned thought but for me, even though he didn't manage to complete that letter, it was the very fact that he TRIED...and even got down to getting those three words on the paper with so much heartfelt emotion behind them...was just really touching...
At the very end of his video monologue, he reaches that same conclusion...that perhaps the three words that he obsessed over so much the last week are just not enough to encapsulate the extent of these feelings b/w them...for me, what he said at the end of the scene, was sort of covered in the very beginning with the way he uttered "My Dear Anika"...
The video itself had some wonderful moments as everyone has beautifully described today...it was envisioned wonderfully...giving Shivaay the opportunity to ramble about his feelings for Anika freely, without any interruptions, without any hang ups...it felt like a very natural outpouring of thoughts and so much more effective than any flowery speech with high flying "jaadu" type words...it felt very Shivaay...everything from him trying to make sense of things from the very basis of it all...he the businessman, who only understands numbers...the count of something...and how does one count heartbeats? He decides it has to be through a story...so a story is what he decides to narrate...their story, as it unfolded through his eyes.
The whole scene felt like an ode to the fans as much as an ode to the whole journey of these two characters...as fans, we all get attached to these characters and their emotions...to see those emotions then valued even within the narrative, to see the characters valuing those emotions in such a heartfelt manner...it was surreal...and lovely...I must definitely applaud the writers today for giving this to the fans👏
There were many wonderful bits that Shivaay touched on...from the very first time Anika made an impression on him (Not the kaanch, but the GOBAR, who'd have thought😆), to when he first thought she's so beautiful to every twist and turn of fate that brought them together...but the bit that was the most pleasant surprise for me was the inclusion of Anika's speech on love from the Malika track...if there is ONE scene that someone asks me made me invest in the journey of these two characters, it's that scene right there...it's the scene that made me take IB more seriously beyond the fluffy trollfest it generally seemed...I remember sitting up straighter in my seat the day I watched that scene and thinking wow...these dialogues, this scene just happened in THIS show?...in THIS story? 😆...we got something so heartfelt in the middle of all the comedy and drama? And I was hooked😆
The reason I'm also rambling about this is because that's the Anika I fell in love with too...that was the day she became something more than the already fabulous spunky spitfire that I was enjoying in the show...that was the day she revealed hidden depths and yearnings to her character...all performed so wonderfully by Surbhi...and to hear Shivaay reference that today...not just reference that but to add to Anika's line about wanting to be #1 in someone's life...adding on that he felt that the man who's life she'd enter would actually become #1...and the segue from there into Shivaay getting emotional about how lucky he feels to have been that man...the luckiest in the world, the planet, everything😆...how sweetly this was tied together...from Anika's words to his...and showing the depth of his love for her...
To quote Shivaay here...ab pyar kaise nahin hota when you say such wonderful things😆...Shivaay's words today came from such a wonderfully heartfelt place, it would melt the hardest of hearts and make you fall in love with this Shivaay...it was an ideal picture of how a wonderful confession should be...without the flowery and cheesy language...a ramble of emotions and feelings bouncing all over the timeline of their journey, smiling, reminiscing, getting emotional and then just overwhelmed by the sheer range and impact of those feelings and those emotions.
After a confession like this, even if it wasn't to her face, words fall even shorter than they already did😆...it's hard to top something like this...not sure if the writers will still insist on making a show out of the ILU...lol...let's see how it goes...but today, Shivaay verbalized the depth of his emotions for Anika in a very Shivaay like way...remains to be seen whether this video gets to her...but Shivaay will probably continue to show her in other ways how much he loves her.
"My Dear Anika", you were still missed a lot today...do come back soon🤗
