I wrote this in a hurry (forty-five minutes to be precise), so kindly go easy on me 😛 This was something I'd have loved to see in the previous episode of IB with regard to RiKara. But anyway, i believe the writers know best (at least, we audience hope they do)

Without further delay, I present this tiny piece to you

Faith In You

Omkara Singh Oberoi stood against the window frame of his bedroom, lost in thought about the current situations of the Oberoi Household. Shivaay was being stubborn and so was Annika. Shivaay demanded to know the truth that Annika was hiding, and Annika was determined to hide the truth that Shivaay desperately needed to know. Omkara banged his clenched fist against the wall in helplessness. For the first time he could actually witness Shivaay's expression of pain, and his heart ached at the sight of The Great Wall of Shivaay crumbling down slowly. Shivaay might have been a ruthless business shark to the whole world, but to OmRu, he was a father-figure. And to watch him break into pieces was a pain that all could only witness, but not help to heal in any way. The soothing balm to Shivaay's heart was Annika; the only one who could put those pieces together and mend his broken heart. And in Annika's perspective, bringing the truth to light would break the man she loved; she feared he would question the very meaning of his existence as an Oberoi, and would take an extreme step when he would realize he was an illegitimate son- a result of his father's extra-marital affair with Kamini. Omkara heaved a sigh at the deadlocked situation. Both of them were right in their own perspective, yet so very wrong.

Omkara's thoughts came to a halt as he heard the familiar tinkling of bangles, and even without turning around, he knew it was her. A small sound of her sniff and sigh caused him to whirl around, and something stirred within him at the sight. Gauri's eyes were red-rimmed, and her nose had a tinge of pink; she had been crying! If Omkara thought his heart ached for the pain of his brother and sister-in-law, the sight of a defeated Gauri hurt him way beyond it should've expected to hurt him. As Omkara unconsciously yet slowly made his way towards her whilst she gazed at the floor, lost in thought, she looked up at him and halted in her feeble steps.

Their eyes met for a moment and she averted her gaze to the floor. She was ready to listen to his taunts. When Omkara had asked her not to make plans in vain, so as to bring Shivaay and Annika together, she had been stubborn and had challenged him that her plan would definitely bring the two lovebirds together. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and now, Annika was being forced by circumstances to marry Vikram in a few hours time. She had tried her level best to talk to her bade bhaiyya and her bhaujaai, individually, but both refused to step back, even though they both refused to go ahead with the wedding drama. The thought of them both being separated from each other pained Gauri terribly. And now, as she sensed Omkara walking towards her, she mentally readied herself to listen to him, like she always did.

"Ro rahi thi tum." He said in a soft voice, maintaining a distance of a few feet from her. It was more of a statement, than a question. She looked up at him in surprise at his gentle tone, and noticed worry etched on his face too. "Aur kar bhi kya sakte hain?" she replied sadly in a shaky voice, "Jo tamasha ho raha hai, bade bhaiyya aur bhaujaai ki zindagi mein, usko dekh kar hum bass ro sakte hain." A tear slid down her eye and Omkara instinctively walked closer to her, stretched his hand ahead to wipe it away shaking his head in silence, almost pleading her not to cry.

"Aisa kyun hota hai Omkara ji, ke do pyaar karnewalon ko ek hone ke liye itni mushqil se guzarni padti hai? Ke do log, jo ek doosre se itni mohabbat karte hai, unhe sirf dard hi milta hai? Sankarji unki itni imtihaan kyun lete hain?" Omkara didn't have any answers to offer, neither any consolation. He too was in quest to seek the answers to her questions. Gauri didn't wait for him to answer, and continued, now on the verge of bursting into a fit of tears, "Hum sabko dikh raha hai ke bade bhaiyya aur bhaujaai ek doosre se kitna pyaar karte hain. Unn dono ko bhi pata hai ke woh ek doosre ke bina nahi reh paayenge. Phir bhi dono chup chaap yeh tamasha hone de rahe hain? Kyun, Omkara ji? Kis liye? Ek sacch ki wajah se? Kya yeh sacch unke rishte se bhi bada hai? Unn dono ki iss sacch bataao, sacch chupaao ke chakkar mein, kya unhe apna rishta tootne ka darr nahin? Woh dono kyun nahi samajh paa rahe hain, ke iss baar agar unhone apna zidd nahi choda, toh woh hamesha ke liye alag ho jayenge, aur phir dono chahke bhi kabhi paas nahi aa paayenge!"

Having said this in one breath, Gauri now broke down and fell on her knees. Except that, before she could feel her knees hit the floor, his hands gripped her arms and pulling her towards him, he made her settle against him on the floor.

Omkara felt his chest ache when he heard her speak in defeat. He felt as if his little ever-enthusiastic chiraiyya's wings were clipped off. And when he saw her breaking down, something within his being prompted him to comfort her, to console her, to provide that shoulder that she needed to cry on. Gauri bunched the material of the pink sweater at his shoulder in her tiny fists and buried her face in his chest to cry out. Shivaay may not have been her brother by blood, but the bond she shared with him needed no label. And watching her bade bhaiyya break down while confessing his fear of losing the only woman he ever loved in his entire life was something she could not stand watching without breaking a little on the inside. And right now the only person whom she could pour her heart out to was the man she held on to.

"Aisa tum bol rahi ho?" she heard his voice vibrate in her ears as she still leaned against his chest in sobs. "Gauri, tum kab se itni negative sochne lagi?" Waving his hand over her dark, long hair in consolation, as if it was the most natural thing for him to do, he continued, "Tum aise haar maanogi toh kaise chalega?" She shut her eyes, allowing fresher tears to stream down her cheeks, "Hum haar maan chuke hain. Aap ne sahi kaha tha Omkara ji. Dhakal-andaazi ki bhi ek hadd hoti hai. Aur hum unn dono ke liye bura mehsoon karne ke alawa kuch nahi kar sakte hain." Hearing her almost give up in defeat, he tightened his hold around her, "Nahi Gauri. Agar woh dono ek doosre se sacch mein pyaar karthe hain, jo ki hum sab jaante hain ke woh karthe hain, toh unko koi bhi alag nahi kar sakta hai"

Omkara smiled softly as he heard her sobs soften, and then when she raised her head to look at him, he wished to lose himself in the depths of her eyes. With one arm still around her, he wiped away her tears with his thumb, "Mujhse kisi samajhdaar chiraiyya ne ek din kaha tha, ke agar rishta kamzor ho toh koi bhi bandhan usey jod nahi sakta. Lekin agar rishta mazbooth ho, toh koi bhi usey tod bhi nahi sakta" Gauri almost felt her heart swell up with some strange unnamed feeling as she realized he remembered her words she had told him in Bareilly. He smiled at her realization, "Aur kabhi kabhi tumhare Shankar ji ke plans, hum sab ke plans se better hote hain. Jin ko un par vishwas hai, who uss vishwas ko nahi tod the, yeh maanthi ho na tum?" She nodded earnestly, still savoring the feel of his palm resting against her cheek. "Tumhe apne Shankar ji pe bharosa hai na, Gauri?" She nodded again, this time with a soft smile. He tucked her hair behind her ear, "Toh bass, woh tumhare vishwas ko tootne nahi denge." She kept staring at him for a few seconds and then said, "Aapko poora yakeen hai ke Bade Bhaiyya aur Bhaujaai iss musibat se niklenge? Woh alag nahi honge, na?" Omkara shook his head and after taking a deep breath, he said, "Unhe koi alag nahi kar sakta. Mujhe tumhare vishwas pe poora vishwas hai."

Gauri hugged him back and leaned against him while he wrapped his hands around her. This time she found solace and a new hope in his words.

Oh this was so heart-warming and beautiful...
What I wouldn't give to watch this in the show. Yoiu've given us the perfect little scene that would've taken things to a whole new level, both with RiKara and the individual characters.

Thanks for sharing this lovely piece of writing... please write more RiKara. We could all use some cheering up considering the reality of the show nowadays.

Can't wait for more!

I always believed ke Omkara ko aapna khoya hua vishwas wapas milega...and Gauri's trust on her Shankar Jee will make him trust in Bhagwan again...but what you wrote was more than my beliefs...He has faith on her vishwas...it sounds so perfect...and Omkara soothing a broken Ri is something I'd love to see in the show..but milega baba ji ka thullu...aab toh kuch ummed bhi nehi rakhti..but after reading these kind of amazing writings, dil ko sukoon milta hain..thanks for writing this lovely shot on RiKara..hope to read more from you soon...
