After one whole week of faaltu timepass, random comedy, and cringe-inducing group romance, today the writers deigned to finally give some decent Shivika scenes...covering almost the entire gamut of shades in their relationship...there was meaning...despite the random contrived trip-catch scene and other random investigations going on...hallelujah there was meaning to be found today...praise be the miracle😆
1) Shivaay watching Anika's random mad antics outside the door of their room and repeating his standard "She's totally MAD" line😆
2) A surprising return of thehraav, poignancy and softness in this little bit where Shivaay senses that Anika has something on her mind that is troubling her...the genuine concern and actual direct communication after many days of just showing filler tadi...definitely an improvement
3) The trip-catch itself was pretty contrived with Anika supposedly randomly slipping out of the blue *rolls eyes* but I can appreciate the fact that they built CONVERSATION around this scene rather than just stuff it in for token purposes...so Shivaay feels offended that Anika is amused at him dancing to little Pari's tunes...or he just uses it as an excuse to go show some more tadi to Anika...lol...regardless it was a very typical Shivaay thing to do...and I liked that Anika wasn't being hyper for no reason in this scene but quietly making her point and leaving.
What also saved the trip-catch itself was the fact that the angst was built up today and not thrown into the middle of a random cake fight or other random nonsense...the sense of yearning b/w them was palpable today and beautifully enacted by NM-SC, as well as shot nicely by the director too...the bit when Shivaay leaned his forehead on Anika's was particularly poignant
The duet version of O Jaana played on this bit today was really nice too...thank god for no random filmy song with two other pairs hovering on the sidelines😆
Transitions were all bang on today...moving from the intensity of this bit to a slightly more comical take vis a vis Shivaay demanding she take out his phone since his hands are all tied up in holding her😆...and Anika going along with the absurdity even after pointing out the silliness of it...the way she fumbles and takes out his pocket square😆
And then a return back to the angst when the call turns out to be Ragini's, even though Shivaay makes Anika hold the phone to his ear, his eyes on her the entire time...he was clearly very reluctant to let go...and used the flimsiest of excuses to get his way😆
I found the ending shot when Anika puts the pocket square back in his pocket somehow quite touching...words weren't really needed for that moment and the pain and angst was beautifully communicated b/w them...
There now, wasn't so difficult, was it, dear writers? 😆😆 One has to wonder why it took a whole week of fillers and inconsistency filled random dialogues to get to this point...this was a mere 10 minutes out of a 40 minute long episode and we can appreciate it cuz it had meaning and content to it...so it's clearly not much to ask and when you give NM-SC content to work with, they can clearly do very well...they don't even need grandiose scenes...even silence can work wonders...but please let them have some thehraav in this supposed build up to the reunion (I'm presuming)
