Shivaay and Anika, the duo created magic on the small screen with their chemistry, acting and passion towards their craft, an unlikely pair that stole into our hearts. They have given us some unforgettable scenes and their journey is anticipated based on their separation. 2 bodies in one soul.

A small tribute from my side to the makers of this wonderful show and for giving us this marvelous jodi. As the underlying theme is that of Lord Shiva, I am going to try and co relate the similarities from the tale of Lord Shiva and Sati.

As we all know, Shivaay Singh Oberoi is from a wealthy, cultured, educated family, well respected, feared by his competitors and adored by his family. He lived in an ivory tower where his arrogance & pride of his lineage ruled, with absolute authority. Then a girl blew into his life like a whirlwind and she changed his thinking, transformed him into a man who smiled, laughed, experienced the joys of the small things that life had to offer. She cared not one whit for his name, money or prestige but cared only for him, the man he had become. He did not love easily but when he does, it is for life.

Lord Shiva before he married Sati was an ascetic, who lived in the mountains, had ghouls as companions and meditated in isolation. Sati's severe penances earned his love and they were blissfully wedded. Then came the news of the sacrifice that Shiva was not invited to and Sati went, much against her husband's wishes. She could not bear the insult heaped on her husband and gave up her life, her happiness. She was put in an untenable spot where she had gone against her husband's wishes and her father's arrogant insults pained her to such an extent that she was left with no recourse but to renounce her life.

Anika was trapped between Shivaay and Pinky. She knew the truth of his birth would annhilate him and she would not let Pinky obliterate her husband, even if she destroyed herself in the process.

What happened to Lord Shiva once he learnt of Sati's sacrifice is well knows to us. He became the destroyer, Rudra, who was merciless in annihilating everyone present at Daksha's palace. What is Shivaay doing now post Anika's sacrifice, he has become reckless, careless, is living in agony, a part of Anika is embedded deeply in his soul that he exists barely. He is suffocating in her absence as her presence brought light and warmth to his cold, soulless existence where only business and his family mattered. He is clutching the precious memories of Anika to his chest, raging and grieving alternately, where the family's pleas fall on deaf ears. He needs to calm down before he can think, remember the promises he had made, they had made to each other, to be one in spirit and soul never to part. He has to now marry her with all the honor and respect that was due to her, set right the hypocrisy of his class/family. Anika would return to him as his bride, only the tale would be new, fresh beginnings where together they will reestablish the Oberoi family pride and name.

Pinky is akin in Daksha as in she never approved of Shivaay's marriage from day one. She never deemed Anika to be worthy of her son, she was low middle class, had no parents or family name, was unconventional and outspoken. Pinky is high on rules and regulations as evinced by her pointing them out, at the most inopportune times. (Anika's chunri rasam where she insisted that Prinku honor Anika with her husband as she was a married woman now) Anika stood between a mother and son, married into a world of power, privilege and wealth. She was the casualty of war between the 2 worlds, her lack of lineage and the one she married into of wealth.

By sacrificing herself, in order to protect her husband from the wrathful arrogance of Pinky, Anika has to disappear as we know her and bring about the punishment of Pinky's ego and arrogance ( people who think like her, her friends who laughed at NT)There is going to be chaos and turmoil before peace reigns once again. Anika was able to draw out Shivaay from the tower he was perched on, he became a lively man who took pride in being the protector of his family. The union of Lord Shiva and Sati is necessary for life to be generated and sustained. So too, the union of Shivika must happen if the Oberoi family is to be sustained with the birth of the next generation.

Parvati was born and had to undergo severe austerities and prayers before she was blessed with the sight of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva asked for her hand with all honor and respect and their marriage was celebrated grandly.

Shivaay may undergo trials and tribulations, has not moved on from the breakup, as will Anika before they are reunited. It is about letting go of the ego and pride, finding and understanding the reality, accepting the reality as truth.

Read some spoilers on the entry of Anika's family. Shivaay will have to earn her family's respect and meet their conditions in order to whisk his bride away to his domain. (If indeed this is true).

A roller coaster ride these past one year alternating between shock and awe, never failing to entertain us. Kudos to the entire team and cast on turning one, for giving us this wonderful show that had us hooked to the amazing ensemble cast and some unique words that are now part of our everyday language.

Such an interesting take on the whole separation track. This also gives me hope that when Shivaay learns the full truth he is going to profess his love in a grand way ❤️
