Lots of people think heartbreak destroys a person. makes them lose their drive, themselves, their motivation and hope.
it does. it's miserable.
But the sun still rises. People go to school/work around you, phone calls continue with things to do and decide on. You still smell bad because you haven't had a bath, your stomach rumbles loudly with a burning sensation although you feel sick with the idea of food.
Every few minutes you are assailed with thoughts of him/her, guilt that you let him/her go, regret strong enough to make you run to get them back, then decide it's better off this way. Repeat this cycle every hour that you can't fall asleep.
Then an important piece of work comes and you are distracted for a few minutes and you feel slightly human for a bit. And then you remember all over again but it feels a little bit bearable.
But nobody prepares you for the times when there is no distraction, the long nights. When you miss them so much you feel hollow and desperate. That you might need to pinch yourself to reduce the numbness.
She's gone.
He's gone.
