To provide some context to my question, I should start with how I started watching this show.
Every couple of years I get the urge to watch an Indian tv soap for some mindless entertainment. So a few weeks ago I googled 'Best Indian shows on tv' or something to that effect. Very few helpful articles on this out there I must tell you, so I came to the forum (again a place I come every couple of years when I start watching a show) and saw Ishqbaaz was number one.

Saw the montage pictures that turn up when I googled it, where Nakuul looks terrible, you must admit, with the ridiculously coiffed hair and the bags under his eyes and Surbhi looks rather plain. Read a synopsis and wasn't encouraged by that either, so I put it off, and decided to give it a try a couple of weeks later when I was bored out of my mind and couldn't find anything else to watch either.

I watched the whole thing on hotstar and only caught up with the show in real time after the 'mahasangam' episodes. And for me at least, what works for this show are a) the lead actors, who are brilliant and make you fall in love with them, and b)the ensemble cast and all that brotherly love.

First they decided to take away the ensemble cast factor by splitting it into two shows, and now they've split up the leads. All the 'concern for the other' and 'sensing presence' In today's episode was still ok albeit melodramatic (and Rudra delivered his cheesy lines so mechanically it was like he couldn't believe he had to speak them out loud), but the precap for tomorrow's episode has me wondering who they're making this for. I certainly am not the kind of audience that matters to the makers, but seriously.. who eagerly looks forward to watching an episode where the male lead carries a vamp into his house exactly the way he carries his wife? The question's addressed to those of you that's been watching this on a daily basis. Has it always been like this? Did they always have precaps that make you dread the next day's episode?

P.S. The question's also rather rhetorical I know, it's ok if you have no answers. 😊
Just a curious and rather confused viewer.

It's Indian television, what else do you expect?😆
It's all about 2-3 marriages/ engagements, shocked faces captured at various angles, yada yada.
That's what works with the standard audience and somehow people seem to love it. Keeps up the thrill for them, I think
I, too am not a regular viewer. Mostly binge watching after a girly day out. And I get what you mean. But you should see OmRu's shayari/ jokes.
P. S : Is the 'east wind' thing from Sherlock?
If so, Hi Eurus!😃

Indian tv I know, but still.. it can't possibly work, the way it's headed now? No? Makes no sense. I should just re-watch old episode/ scenes till I get over it.

The east wind was actually not a sherlock reference. I made that my signature some years ago.. long before anyone knew of Eurus, I can't for the life of me remember where I read it first though. And now all that turns up are references to the Last Vow. Hmm.. must hunt it down now, or I'll keep thinking about it. I just liked the melancholic sound of it, I imagine. 😃

It did feel a little bit like a slap in the face. Can't imagine what the actual intention was.

First rule for watching Indian hindi serial drama is Leave the Logic Behind!
It's a beautiful story and got lost in the TRP chakkar I feel.

I watch the show for the lead actors. They do such wonderful job with absolutely shitty script. it requires a different level of talent and both Nakul and Surbhi needs to be applauded for that.

Trust me it's much better than the few top serials that's dished out.

Omg I do that too! I stopped watching after that diastrous wedding episodes where he actually manhandles her.
That was like, a low point.
But then I binge watched it up until now and will stop till they get back together.
Alas, such is the life of a hopeless romantic (that's me, by the way)😉
Also melancholic? Wow. How does your heart handle that stuff?
I usually go for dark humor myself.
Also, totally check out Sherlock, you'll like it.

I agree, the actors are fabulous.. and I love that they're not the cookie cutter delicate female and typical buff, high on steroid male either, in terms of appearances. But really.. this isn't logic, it's common sense. If they have even 2 seconds of something sweet in the episode, show that in the precap.. not the last thing anyone wants to watch. No?

Anyhoo.. it is what it is I suppose.
