Some observations about today's episode which was light and airy to the naked eye but addressed many underlying issues, fears and feelings that ShivIka normally does not touch upon on a day to day basis.
I would like to extend my hearty congratulations to this Husband and Wife pair who have already reached level 3 in their relationship.
Let's start with the subtle change that we have noticed since last week. From the Kul Gothra' Puja day which in my opinion was the last hurdle in their relationship going forward.
Annika always feared that her truth would send Shivvay running in the opposite direction from her but she was proven wrong and her fears were proven baseless. He not only accepted her but in the next few days ended up getting even more protective about her (if that is even possible for this man.)
Now the man has begun to understand what she actually went through as a child who had no parents to protect, support and shield her and his protectiveness has gone into over drive but his equation where respect and admiration for Annika is concerned still remains the same. That is what I find amazing. He is not pussyfooting around her feelings or emotions like he feels sorry for her and thinks that she is now a glass doll to be handled with care. That is true love and respect. Understanding what the person has suffered and being supportive without feeling pity towards them. He still sees her as his tough as nails Annika.
Her argument about digging into her past may be brought up at a later date by the man himself when she lays the truth and facts about Mahi before him. That is when Annika better be prepared with a counter argument as to why it is perfectly fine for her to be a curious cat and dig into his but it is absolutely not ok for him to dig into hers. I find that she is a bit unfair here and if she thinks she can do it for his benefit then he can argue that he was doing exactly the same ( which we know is the truth to some extent)
Her outrage at the fact that he controls all aspects of their relationship was addressed today as well which I felt was done so beautiful that we almost missed it. It was done as a purely natural thing of a wife ranting and raving at her husband that he holds all the controls in his hand as to when what is addressed and what can be left for later. That is massive growth from her that she is actually pointing out that she is unhappy about the power balance that tilts in his direction where decisions in their relationship are concerned. Again, the pair is growing and redefining the dynamics in an everyday matter of fact way instead of the filmy' crying and emotional scenes that some shows put us through.
Her fear of him leaving, is now replaced by his fear of her leaving him which is as it should be. Every man should be afraid that if limits are crossed the wife has the option of simply deciding the fate of their relationship and that she has as much control over where this is going as he has.
"Tumhari haar baath humari relationship key future par kyun aa jati hai??" - we see a very upset Shivvay who is certainly uncomfortable about that being dragged into their arguments and debates all the time. He does not like the topic of them not having a future discussed so casually and if anyone has doubts about this man leaving his wife, EVER!!!, they should watch this scene and his reaction to her statement again. The marriage and Annika are here to stay in his life and I have a feeling that SHE herself does not have the option of leaving now where his decision is concerned. The man will hunt her down and drag her back kicking and screaming if he has to.
He was a silent receiver till then of all the accusations she threw at him and stood very patiently while he let her vent and fume. A perfect response to a wife who is very very upset right now and perfect response to a wife mentioning the future of their relationship. The visibly shaken Shivvay who went to Chanda's house comes to mind when he said those words.
Her wanting to finish the argument was again received with very weak opposition (and who could blame him when she was looking as Hot as she did standing there leaning against her equally hot and red Champa). I feel he was kind of happy in a way to be able to steal her away to Panvel for an overnight trip - angry or not ...lol
The overnight Jungle adventure is going to be interesting as it unfolds. I eagerly await what comes with that.
