😳That's me at the moment... blushing super hard and smiling like a lunatic at my screen.Your comments are the best and I love reading them every single time.I'm glad you liked the update cuz I rewrote most of it while posting it yesterday night. The original draft was much simpler, with almost no looking into Gauri's inner thoughts. I felt like I needed to get her perspective before getting to the last part. And Om's artistic side, his softer, philosophical aspects were what drew me to him as a character in the beginning. So I try to always go back to original Omkara in my mind and figure out how he would deal with things...The next and last chapter should hopefully be up soon... so stay tuned!

"Y...Ye...Ye hum hain"
His love for her grew exponentially at the quiet certainty in her voice. She was stating a fact... she wasn't asking him if it was her.
"Ye hum hain!"
She repeated and this time, his heart broke at the soft wonder in her voice. He wanted to wrap her up in his arms and never let her go.
"Humne socha bhi nahin tha ki hum... aap... Ye hum hain! Aapne humein... Ye..."
All that came out of her were broken sentence fragments. She was still tracing cautious fingers on the cheek of the clay figurine he'd made just hours ago and he remembered himself doing the same thing.
With the same soft, hushed voice, as if the wonder of the moment would break if she spoke any louder, Gauri whispered
"H..Hum aapko itne khoobsurat dikhte hain?"
It tore at him that wrapped up in his own head he hadn't seen how beautiful she was in the beginning, that she needed affirmation from him, her husband. The way she'd phrased it, as if he was the one who'd made her look beautiful with his artistry and not the other way around, squeezed something inside him.
Gauri - his wife, the woman who he now knew was his soulmate, the one who had inspired him in countless ways without even his knowledge.
What he had expressed through his art, had he been able to see from a third person's perspective, would've revealed his own feelings to him. Now that he saw what she was looking at with the knowledge of his feelings secure in his heart, the clarity with which his emotional entanglement with this extraordinary woman shone through was uncanny.
Omkara had known even before understanding his feelings that he wouldn't be parting with any of these pieces. Now, with a clear understanding of what these pieces of art represented to him, to them, he knew that they would never even be shared with anyone beyond the two of them.
"Tum ho itni khoobsurat Gauri... baahar se jitni beautiful ho, andar se usse kaii zyaada khoobsurat ho."
Her eyes locked onto his, searching for and finding what she wanted to see... He wanted her to see everything... everything he thought, everything he felt... everything he was.
Omkara stood rooted to his place for a second as her knees gave out and she sank to the ground, sobbing. The next second, he was there, wrapping her in his arms, cradling her shaking form against his chest as he let her cry, knowing that she needed to let go of the storm of emotions that had been pent up inside her for a long time.
Now that she could cry into her husband's chest, wrapped up in his strong arms, Gauri let herself go. She crowded close to his body, needing the physical warmth and comfort of his touch to ground her to reality when it felt as if her emotions would flood out and drown her.
It had been too long since she'd depended on anyone, since she'd let herself lean on someone else... till now, she'd never had anyone she could call her own. Every relationship she'd ever had from childhood was one that was formed due to necessity.
And here was this perfect, amazing man who was offering her everything that she didn't even know she needed, craved. With him she could let herself go and be safe, she could be the person she wanted to be, she could share her everything and not worry about judgment... she knew he would be there for her.
His eyes had told her everything she needed to know, his hands had created reflections of her more beautiful than she'd ever known she could be and his heart had formed his feelings into words that she didn't even know had been meant for her.
Every fear, every little sadness she'd been holding in, letting them corrode her from the inside were let out in the flood, cleansing her soul, making her feel new again.
Omkara, who'd been crying silent tears and feeling his heart crack open hearing his wife sob her heart out, pulled back slightly when her crying reduced to occasional sniffling and her breathing became regular once more.
The sight that met his eyes was at once heartbreaking and adorable. His chiraiyya had cried herself out and her face was flushed, her eyes swollen and her little nose red from the emotional strain. He ran his hand gently through her hair, letting her know that he was still there, providing her with whatever support she needed.
Her muffled words, spoken into his chest fluttered up to him
"Thank you Omkara ji... hum aapko bata nahin sakte ki aapne hume aaj kya diya hai. Aaj tak humari zindagi ko humne kisi ke sahare nahin jiya hai, kisise apne ghum nahin baante hain, kisi par aise sar rakh ke dil ko dukoon milne tak roya nahin hai... kisi par itna vishwaas hi nahin kiya ki hum unse apni bhavnaon ko share karein."
"Tumhe pata hai Gauri... aaj mujhe pata chala ki jo main tumhare liye itne dinon se feel karta hoon, wahi pyaar hai. To mujhe bahut khushi hui. Jab mujhe ye samajh aaya ki tum bhi mujhse usse zyaada pyaar karti ho, to mujhe aur bhi khushi hui. Magar ab jo tumne mujhe diya hai, wo khushi is duniya mein mujhe koi aur de hi nahin sakta... uske liye Thank you"
Gauri looked into his eyes then, a puzzled look on her face
"Tumne mujhe apna vishwaas diya hai aaj. Apni trust di hai... apna heart diya hai mujhe, ki main use sambhal kar rakhoon. Ye haq diya hai tum par ki main tumhara khayaal rakhoon, tumhari har khwahish poori karoon, tumhe har mushkil aur dard se bacha kar rakhoon. Mujhpar itna vishwaas karne ke liye thank you. I will make sure ki main is trust ko humesha banaye rakhoonga... I will never do anything to break your trust or your love"
"Sirf itna nahin... Jo saari zimmeradiyan aapne humari lee hein, wahi saari zimmedariyan humne bhi aapki lee hein. Aapka vishwaas hum kabhi nahin tootne denge. Aapke haq mein jo bhi khushi hogi, hum aapko laakar denge, saare dard aur mushkilen aap se door karenge. Aapko itna pyaar denge jitna saari duniya mein kisi ne na diya ho"
"I love you so much Gauri... so much"
"Hum bhi aapse bahut bahut pyaar karte hain Omkara... itna ki hum bhi nahin samjhte kitna"
Unable to handle the overload of emotions, Omkara bent his head just a little bit and brushed his lips against hers
"Bas meri chiraiyya... ab aur kuch nahin. Aur kuch bologi to main apne aap ko rok nahin paaunga."
Gauri looked at her man, her eyes filled with love, and simply tilted her chin up making it easier for him to kiss her if he wanted to. And he wanted to... very much.
The tacit permission from his beloved led Omkara to place his lips against her forehead, place soft kisses on her eyelids, cheeks and the tip of her nose before he fitted his mouth on hers.
Because it was her first ever kiss, even if it was with her husband whom she loved, Omkara kept it light and loving, knowing that he had an entire lifetime to explore the various facets of their relationship with his little tigress. If the passion and fire they showed in their arguments was anything to go by, he knew that life was going to get very interesting in the near future.
Pulling back from her soft, sweet lips with difficulty, he sighed
"Chalo... raat bahut ho chuki hai. Ab humein sona chahiye... Both of us have had a very emotional day aur hum dono thak chuke hain."
And he stood up, effortlessly lifting her up with him. Holding her securely in his arms, he started for the stairs, ignoring her half-hearted protests to put her down.
Even before he'd reached the stairs, she had locked her arms around his neck and laid her head comfortably on his chest. Smiling at how cute she was being, Omkara walked into their room, his eyes trained on her luminous ones, their love speaking for itself.
