So.
For not-so-unknown reasons I saw this episode because I appreciate a good train-wreck. Have never watched this show regularly and my sole motivation has been something else. But I know enough to get the show's premise and lack of narration.
Gul was lucky that this troll show became a sleeper hit because most of it's audience enjoyed the lulz and ofcourse packing the show with actors who have rabid fan following and will keep the buzz going.
The reason it stayed amusing largely to me was because of SC"s portrayal of Anika. She brought in lots of nuances and made Anika fun character and essentially build the louu story.
But goddamn Gul and the writers, I know you have to adhere to your plot based pattern which means rinse and repeat on loop. Yet, Yet..how the heck do you sit down and write up a scene where a woman has to touch the feet of her abuser. LET THAT SINK IN. It's not jokes now, thats hitting a low and normalizing, justifying harassment and broadcasting it to an audience which largely consists of impressionable teens.
No, Gul, you don't get to tell the audience to turn off the program. Because your channel, your PH , would be having a little corner of CSR responsibilities especially the channel goes around talking about "Nayi Soch".
Oh Gul and the writer , please think about the supreme crime you have commented. Actually no, the onus lies on the audience now, if they want to let this pass and slide when a "feels" , intimate scene is released or actually sustain and keep reminded Gul, SP that , IT IS NOT OKAY . IT IS WRONG.
Itching to end this post with a lovely fingered emoji but I love the TM maker too much.
