- C h a p t e r f i v e -

Leaving this home was the only way anika could give herself some time. So she called saumya, the only person she could think of at the moment.

Anika told her everything that happened with her and that she needed a place to stay. Saumya was in the same city and told her that she could do with a room mate.

Anika felt hopeful for once in so long. She had a fight going on inside her where one side of her told her to leave this family and never look back whereas the other side told her that leaving was the worst idea, she shouldn't leave shivaay. When she thought about it, shivaay didn't speak up for her but then everything he does is for a reason. These clashing thoughts were making her crazy.

So it was final, she would leave at night when everyone was sleeping so that no one will see her but first she had to do something.

Dadi was getting ready to sleep when anika entered her room. "dadi?" hearing anika's voice dadi looked at her " arre puttar tu soyi nhi abhi tak"

"nahi dadi, bas aapko dekhne ka mann kiya"

" anika puttar aaj jo kuch bhi hua use dil se mat laga, pinky toh hai hi aisi aur mujhe pura bharosa hai tujhpar ki tu aisa nhi kar sakti. Tia jaisi bhi ho par tu uske saath aisa kabhi nhi karegi, kisike saath bhi nahi."

Anika had tears in her eyes, she couldn't thank god enough for giving her a chance to experience such love for her and she cries more when she remembers that she is going to leave. Dadi hugs anika "puttar tu ro kyun rahi hai?" anika keeps crying but doesn't say anything at first but then asks for forgiveness " dadi aap bahot acche ho aur main kabhi kisiko dukh nhi dena chahti par ab main jo karne wali hun uske liye ujhe maaf kardijiyega"

Saying this anika leaves quicky before dadi could understand and say something.

At night when anika was getting ready to leave she removes her bracelet, scribbles something in a piece of paper and keeps her bracelet and the paper on the dressing table hoping shivaay would find it in the morning. She looks at shivaay who was sleeping with tense lines on his forehead. She had an urge to go there and smooth them but she didn't, she turned around and left.

Next morning

Shivaay woke up and looked towards the sofa where anika was sleeping but she wasn't there. It was weird, he's been observing anika for a long time and he was suspecting that anika was hiding something from him. Every day she was waking up early when she loves sleeping till late, well later than him. She's always talking to someone and whenever he is around she cuts the call smoothly. She keeps going out frequently, its suspicious but he trusts her. Oh the irony, he doesn't show her that he trusts her but he did trust her. He just hoped she would understand like she always does.

He was getting ready when he notices anika's bracelet and the paper. "anika never removes this bracelet then why..?" he picked it up and read the paper

Shivaay,

Mera chand aapko dekar jaa rahi hu.

Anika

"what" shivaay was stunned. Anika left him... she really left him. He was panicking. "where did she go?, uska ghar... ghar bhi nahi hai" " anika ... kahan ho tum"

Shivaay calls his family together and tells them that anika left. "oh my mata , chalo yeh toh accha hua ki bala apne aap hi tal gayi varna use bahar phenkna padta"

"kya? Anika bhabhi chali gayi? Aise kaise chali gayi vo humein chodh kar?" rudra asked shivaay but if only shivaay knew the answer. He noticed that dadi was quiet. Dadi was the only one who shared a deep connection with anika.

Shivaay walked towards dadi " dadi aap jante ho anika kaha hai?" he asked and a sense of relief washed over him when he realised that dadi might know where she was. "nahi puttar, usne mujhe kuch nahi batay . lekin mujhe pata tha vo chali jayegi, aur vo rukti bhi kiske liye" dadi was feeling dejected, she couldn't stop her from leaving even when she knew she would leave.

"what do you mean kiske liye rukti, ofcourse mere li..." shivaay stops short realising what he is saying. "matlab yeh ghar uska bhi hai , vo yahaan reh saqti hai. Ghar chodh ke jaane ki kya zarurat thi?" he was getting worried now. " leave it na shivaay baby, agar vo jana chahti thi toh isme problem kya hai? Vaise bhi agar vo yahaan rehti toh humara baby danger mei hota. Kal jo usne kiya uske baad its good ki vo chali gayi." Tia said trying to gain sympathy so that they would just forget about anika.

Frustrated with tia's words , shivaay called for khanna loudly. He was getting angry now , at anika, at himself and at tia. He was furious at his situation.

" khanna dhundo use, jaldi" and khanna left. " where are you anika?"

At saumya's place

Saumya had left early morning for some reason. Anika was standing on the balcony sipping her tea and just looking out, not really seeing anything. She wondered if shivaay got her letter, if he realised she was gone.

Even if she didn't want to, she had to take this step. That was just a dream and she was making the mistake of thinking it was reality. Her reality was that she was an orphan and shivaay and his family would never accept a girl who has nothing, who is nothing. Now that she was in her world, she promised herself to make things right for her and sahil.

At least she had a job, her own business. She had started saahil catering when tia left. Its been a month and she has decent earnings. She wanted to have something which was hers and so she started working preparing for a time which came a bit too soon.

Oberoi Mansion

Shivaay was sad , angry, worried and many more emotions were bugging him. He was restless, he wanted to see her. Shivaaay was at the poolside when his brothers approached him. "shivaay? Tu thik hai?" Om sked shivaay. Om always acted as if he was the big brother between him and shivaay. Always saying things in his complicated shayaris which went over the heads of both of his brothers. "haan main thik hun" "o kaisa question hai yeh? Bhaiya anika bhabhi ko miss kar rahe hain." Rudra speaks up with a naughty glint in his eyes, even in such a serious situation.

WO PYAR KARTE HAIN UNSE

PAR IZHAR NAHI KARTE

MARTE HAIN UNPAR

MAGAR IKRAR NAHI KARTE

"Seriously o? iss time par bhi shayari? Par aap baat kis ki kar rahe ho?" rudra chided his big brother and got a slap on his head for that. "shivaay toh kabhi apne mann ki baat kahega nahi toh socha main hi uske mann ki baat keh doon, kyun shivaay" this broke shivaay's trance "koi pyar nahi hai om tu jaanta hain main aisa nahi hun" "par anika toh aisi hai, tune apni shaqal dekhi hai apni? Uske jaane se kya haal ho gaya hai tera" "bhaiya ke toh tote udd gaye o" rudra laughed and when shivaay glared at him , he said " matlab aapko dekh ke aisa hi lag rha hai." "anika mil jayegi shivaay par vo shayad vapis na aaye. Kal job hi hua uske baad mujhe nahi lagta ki vo yahan aana chahegi" "usse aana padega" shivaay was adamant. "har rishte mei zabardasti nahi ki jaati hai shivaay."

"itna easy nahi hai om"

"zindagi mein sab asaan hota hai shivaay use mushkil, use complicated hum bnate hain. Teri chuppi ne anika ko yeh step lene par majboor kiya hai"

"fine, main anika ko bta dunga ki vo mere liye important kyun hai."

Om smiles and they have an obro moment. Suddenly, shivaay's phone rings.

"haan khanna, kuch pata chala." "yes sir, Mrs Oberoi mil gayi hain."

Hearing this shivaay leaves to bring anika back.

Meanwhile with anika

"yeh konsa raita phail gaya hai meri zindagi mei? Samait hi nahi paa rahi hoon main. Upar se yeh shivaay singh oberoi ...bilkul billu hain" anika was stressed , she had seen khanna looking for her in this locality and unfortunately he saw her right at that moment. Now she knew that baagad billa will be at her doorstep soon enough.

While she was busy in her thoughts there was a loud bang on her door. "shaitaan ka naam liya aur shaitaan haazir" anika goes to open the door.

"kya hai?" anika demands to know as soon as she open the door. Not feeling necessary to answer her, shivaay holds her wrist and tries to pull her but she keeps holding the door with her other hand.

"dekhiye shivaay agar aapne mera haath nahi choda na toh main chillaungi"

"then shout" he dares her. "agar maine chillaya toh police aa jayegi"

"agar police aayi toh main kahunga ki yeh husband wife ka mamla hai toh vo bhi samajh jayenge"

Anika was shocked that he still thought they were husband and wife. She turned serious suddenly "humara rishta khatam ho chukka hai shivaay. Ab hum pati patni nahi hai"

Hearing this shivaay got angry and held her hand behind her back (like he always does) the pulled her towards him. "humara rishta itni asaani se khtm nhi hoga anika, main aisa hone nahi doonga"

"humesha aap jaisa chaahein vaisa nahi ho saqta shivaay. Bataiye, kya aapko farak nahi padta ki mere paas mere mata pita ka naam nahi hai, ki main ek anarth hun?" this question silenced shivaay.

"mujhe mera jawab mil gaya hai shivaay, aap kabhi naam khoon khaandaan se aage badh hi nahi payenge aur jo cheez aapke liye sabse zyada important hai vo toh mere paas hai hi nahi. Isiliye main yahann aagayi ."

"tumhe lagta hai ki tum sab jaanti ho? Haan you are right , mere liye naam khoon khaandaan se important kuch nahi hai par I can make an exception. Tum important ho, kyunki tum meri wife ho- Mrs shivaay singh oberoi ho. Aur ab hum ghar jaa rahe hain. Lets go" shivaay turns to go still holding her hand but she doesn't move from her place.

"humara divorce ho chukka hai shivaay . bas kuch dino main yeh rishta khatam ho jayega fir mai aake kya karungi?"

"yeh kya rishta khatam rishta khatam laga rakha hai, haan?"

"main keh raha hun na ki rishta hai toh matlab rishta hai"

"aapke kehne se kuch nahi hota hai, aap kahenge ki aap shahrukh khan hai toh kya main maan jaungi?"

"ab yeh shahrukh khan beech mein kahan se aaya?"

"dekhiye shivaay divorce ka matlab hota hai ki rishta khatam, ab main sirf anika hun."

"mujhe pata hai divorce kya hota hai. tum abhi bhi mrs shivaay singh oberoi ho kyunki maine papers sign nahi kiye the anika" finally shivaay reveals the truth to anika who is stunned.

Anika was in shock and she didn't respond when shivaay called her. Shivaay had to shake her to bring her out of that frozen state.

"chuti katiye mujhe" anika forwards her arm towards shivaay and asks him to pinch her. But ofcourse shivaay doesn't understand her atrangi language.

"chu.. what?" o how he missed her .(shivaay smiles) he cant live even for an hour without listening to her speaking god knows what.

"chu nahi chuti" and then she takes his arm and pinches him hard.

"ouch, pagal ho kya?" shivaay jumps and rubs his arm.

Anika was so happy that she hugged shivaay and a few seconds later he hugged her back.

"aapne sach mei sign nahi kiya?"

"nahi" hearing his no she hits him "toh fir mujhe bta dete, itna bura toh nahi lagta mujhe"

"tumhare pait mein baat rehti kahan hai, itna bolti ho tum"

And there nok jhok continued when anika's phone rang. She excused herself and picked the call. It was from an unknown number. "hello" anika asked. The person on the other side said something which shocked her to the core . her happiness was as usual shortlived , she shouldn't have thought otherwise.
