Saumya is not negative - Page 2

I understand the TRP grab that establishing the Nafratbaaazi does-- some weird throwback to 80s vamp "K-ekta" shows. Its clearly for TRP aunties who seriously need to stop watching TV, and let the rest of us get quality shows and not this regressive crap. But we are already expecting a moderately grey FL for Omkara-- (non truthful, or in any way non-sanskari is grey in Ishqbaaz, remember). Gul does not have the bandwidth to do another grey girl-- TRPs would never stand it.

While I agree with you on principle that Soumya being "Negative" makes no sense. (I dont want her to be). But the reason you think Annika has more reasons to be a Vamp is coz we have seen ALL of her for the past 7 months. Her home, her brother, her abusive nasty aunt, her issues etc etc. We know a whole lot about her. Yes Shivaay abused her. But the Oberoi's did not. She does not have ANY reason to feel angry with them. Her culprit is Shivaay and she has already forgiven him and seems to have no issues with the plight she was put into.

But Soumya? WHAT do we know about her? Other than that she is a nice girl, she has a RJ avatar, and she is confident and strong. She was never shown as being in love with Rudra or even being impressed by him, accept for one or two instances. She cares about the members of the household. But we have NO idea what her life was before coming to OM? What if she does have some sort of issue with the senior Oberoi's? Not a murder, but maybe a decision that caused her brother some harm? We simply dont know. She is a mystery in that sense.

She is not a part of RoTiLana. THAT is for sure. But maybe she helped Tia in some way? I dont know. But that is the interesting part. Lets face it, all she has been in the past few weeks is a white noise and background character being a cheerleader for ShiVika? Is THAT the sum total of her character? I think not. I for one am actually looking forward to see if she DOES have an issue with the senior Oberois for some reason and what that may be? I think it may be a good twist IF handeled well. No lame hand gestures of NafratBaaz for her please! LOL

Also, being "Married' to a ML does not automatically gurantee sainthood or white as a sheet status for a female lead, nor should it!

Yes even I am angered by the fact that Annika has been shown to have "moved on" and not caring of how she landed in OM as their Bahu. I also dont beleive she wants "nothing" from Shivaay. Looks like they are choosing the cliched path of Shivaay rejects Annika because of Mrs Kapoors blackmail and not his firm belief in NKK. Dissapointing and not consistent with Shivaay. But then, we cant expect a lot more as cliches seem to be the PH's favorite!

Soumya - Yes she is wary of losing her heart to "Rudy". I wrote her exactly like that in my story. She never trusted he would be the sort of partner she wanted, or that she should trust her heart with him. Especially coz she had lost a lot in life. I dont want her to be negative or Grey, but it seems the makers do not have enough skill to make her a part of the story properly, without giving her an "Angle". So I for one am willing to accept that, if it gives her a bit more of an edge. I think the way she is is PLENTY, but the writers are lame in this department. (Something Lee himself said in 2 interviews, that the writers dont know what to write). So he made a clear dig at them for lack of RUMYA story development and SS. As a RUMYA fan I want to see their story progress, so I am willing to sign up to see what they do.

Now coming to Sumo not meddling in "OM" affairs? Yes she does not, and I LIKE that about her. Very much. I think she is classy and she is staying in her limits. The way any good house guest would. I would not have liked to see her sticking herself into their issues and showing up with Rudra for each and every thing. She has always made it clear she is not a family member. Even when that Fridge arrived, she got Rudra to sign for it saying "Only family members can sign". During Diwali she said one only celebrates Diwali with family IF they live in the same city and Rudra offered that HE lives here not overseas. It's clear Rudra is the one who gives importance to their changed equation more than she does. He respects relationships a lot. (One thing I love about my Rudy!). :)

Soumya "Likes" Rudra, but she is not in love with him yet, and even if she is, she is a LONG way to accepting her feelings. IF she indeed has an agenda of some sort, she will not let her fancy for Rudra get in her way. This chubby oversmart nerd is no one's fool and I love her for it. I hope she NEVER changes. She is one female character on this show I genuinly like and regard so far. I hope they dont force me to change my mind!
