She peeked at the man she was currently embracing, her head raising and falling with his chest, as one of his arms was draped around her. She smiled at the man and chuckled softly when she saw him furrowing his eyebrows and pouting. She pecked one of his cheeks and found him to be seemingly relaxed. "Aawww" she thought and attempted to free herself from his embrace, for her throat was parched. Carefully and silently she removed herself from the man's embrace and tip toed around the bed.
She could tell that the sky was almost done clearing up, and glanced at the clock quickly, it was 6 am, which meant she had enough time to sleep before Ranveer got up or Ayaan came home. The latter was at Soumya and Rudra's place with their son Laksh. Priyanka poured some water into her glass, careful not to make any noise. Her eyes fell on the papers on the table and she shook her head accompanied with a sigh. Randhawa had been working on a case and it had kept him awake for long periods every night. If it wasn't for Priyanka and her persistence he would've either dosed off on the table or even worse, not sleep at all. She smiled at his sleeping form, and proceeded to organize the books and paper scattered across the table. As she was keeping the last book on the table, something fell out and immediately caught Priyanla's attention.
She picked up the white paper from the floor. "To Priyanka," it said. Priyanka was surprised, what could it be? She opened it; she really didn't have to turn on the lamp for it was pretty bright inside the room.

By the time you receive this letter, I may or may not be alive. I don't want you to cry when you read this letter, ok my love?
I just wanted to let you know Prinku, that I love you and Ayaan, very very much. More than I love myself. When you walked into my life that night of Karwa Chauth, I didn't imagine that I would fall in love with you or dream to spend my whole life with you.
Before you came, I wasn't scared of anything. I could stay out of the city for days and not give any da**, because I had no one to lose. I had absolutely nothing to lose. When you came in, suddenly I saw a reason to live, that didn't involve my job. I finally found a reason to smile. After Ayaan was born, this feeling only became stronger. I know I promised you that I'll come back and I will, I promise.
The latest case that I had received was a very complicated one. I don't want to give you too much details because I know you'll be scared. I don't know whether I'll make it alive this time or not, but if I don't then I want you to be strong ok? You have to be strong babydoll, for me, for yourself and for Ayaan. I want you to know that no matter what happens, I'll always love you. Even if I don't make it back alive, I'll be watching over you and Ayaan.
I want you to smile and be strong. I want you to take on whatever life will throw at you because I know and believe you'll make it. You're strong Priyanka, more than you can imagine. I want you to expand your wings and grow. I want you to smile and not stop fulfilling your dreams. I don't want you to cry and breakdown because I will be watching over you. If you're sad after I am gone for good, I want you to read this letter. I love you Priyanka, more than I can even comprehend myself. You and Ayaan are the most amazing things that have ever happened to me. If you are ever sad and miss me, I want you to read this letter and look at Ayaan because he is the epitome of the love we share.
I know you're emotional and probably crying right now, but I need you to wipe those tears and smile, because I'll always love you.

Priyanka smiled and noticed the wet spots on the letter - she was crying. Her heart clenched. She held the letter to her chest and cried. She was never told what the case was. She knew she could never ask Ranveer to quit being a police because it will be equal to destroying his dreams and she could never do that to him.
She kept the letter back inside Ranveer's journal and sighed. She knew he was right; she had to be strong. She knew deep in her heart, that she would always love him, no matter what happens. Even if Ranveer were to pass away, she knew she wouldn't be able to replace him.
Suddenly she felt a pair of muscular arms hug her from behind with their head on her back. "why did you get up?" he asked, his voice groggy from sleep. She smiled and turned around his arms, and hugged him back. "Are you crying baby?" He asked, his sleepiness suddenly gone, when he heard her sniff. She wiped her tears suddenly and pulled back, "no, no, I am perfectly fine!" she said, failing miserably to hide her emotion.
"Why are you crying Priyanka? What happen - ", his eyes suddenly fell on the white envelope peeking through his journal and he knew that she found what he had initially planned to give her through Shinde only if something were to happen to him. "Come here" he said and pulled her into a tight embrace. She hugged him back, softly sighing. The duo held onto each other for a while, and then pulled back. He looked into her eyes and said, as if he was pleading, "no matter what happens, I want you to be strong and happy ok? For me and Ayaan." She knew he was absolutely right. She nodded a yes and smiled. He smiled back at her and took her hands in his. "Now, come on! It's a Saturday! We need to catch up on sleep!" he exclaimed. She smiled again, he knew how to cheer people up, really.
She snuggled into his chest and he sighed a blissful sigh. His arm was around her waist and his cheek on her head. He could stay like this forever. This was Heaven for him. The duo slowly dosed off once again, listening to each other's heartbeats.
