why does anyone think SSO loves Anika here?😕
I beg to differ, SSO doesnt love her, if he really did, then no way he'd have destroyed her like that...
I'm not talking about the manhandling part, because i get it he was angry and frustrated and sorry his ego really took a blow from the slap.

But what he did with regards to blackmailing Anika, the way he played with her feelings and the mental trauma... That was very wrong, i agree that he thinks his family is to be protected at any cost, but not at the expense of a girl, not at the expense of her brother...

This was the lowest SSO could get!

As regards to love, i dont think SSO ever loved her, infatuated yes, attracted to her spirit yes, attracted to her generosity yes, impressed by her actions yes... he was like a lovesick teenager always when she was near, it was all infatuation never love!

and now that they have surpassed all this infatuation phase, and both broken by their respective decisions, Anika more than SSO definitely.

Now they are back to square one, Anika not being able to trust SSO again, while SSO thinking that Anika isnt worth his trust!

Wow Geet I didn't know you wrote for IB. I've only just returned to the serial from Monday, I had stopped way back in Aug. From what little I had watched in those early episodes the one thing they emphasised again and again was how important his family was for Shivay. There was no ifs buts or mayb - he would put his life down for them. Same with Anika. They may use different approaches but their destination is the same - the protection and happiness of their loved one's (or should I say blood).
Like you said, on Monday and Tuesday from Shivay all I too saw was a very very desperate man. The moment he realised Tia is missing he got into action, selected a family and had an agreement drawn up. Although Annika tried not to interfere in the end it was her words that gave the other girl the 'courage' to back out.
I haven't read the posts in which Shivay has been attacked- but those words are harsh. They should be used wisely and correctly according to the situation not simply out of frustration of the storyline! If Shivay was that bad then what about the parents of that girl who were willing to 'sell' their daughter to be a 1 day bride?
I think this was the first time that he felt such complete loss on how to turn the situation around hence his 'desperate times call for desperate measure' approach that he took to subdue Anika and compel her into this marriage. But he was fighting himself at the same time the struggle was real on his face.
This is actually the first 'revenge/hate' wedding track that I'm looking forward to. Maybe I haven't watched too many dramas but I have seen enough hate marriages - there's something about this one that feels different - they're both wrong yet not wrong at the same time - but the dynamics in their relationship has moved big time.

yes I had to watch the last two episodes again and I HAVE to agree with every word you say. Amoral yes insensitive no...thats Shivaay Singh Oberoi. and that Amorality comes from his immense emotional mindblock when it comes to family!
I love your posts always...

Ok I'm here now...many hours late, but nevertheless😆...my two cents on the episode below:

I didn't expect much from the episode given that we already knew the premise going in...still, the episode managed to pleasantly surprise me in some ways😆

1) Shivaay ka countdown🤣...and Om showing up there asking him why he's counting down and if he's that desperate to get married😆...thoda random Bro moment tha but I got my lulz nevertheless.

2) Shivaay's face when he realizes Anika ran away too😆😆...also GENIUS idea to lock in a girl into a room with a HUGE window as an obvious escape route😆

3) RANDOM Oberoi family dances STILL continuing🤣...matlab ab toh main troll bhi kya karun...I guess yeh log aaj pheron ke beech mein bhi dance karna shuru kar denge😆

What surprised me was that Shivaay showed up there aaraam se...played the happy son, brother partaking in the festivities of his marriage and cheering up his whole family...meanwhile all the while his Anika mission is in the back of his head😆...I guess he needed time to procure Sahil and set the plan in motion...so thoda timepass kar liya family ke saath😆.

4) Anika telling Shivaay ki Tia ke bhaagne ke baad use SADMA pahunch gaya hai😆😆...Thank you writers for still keeping her spirit intact here atleast...such an Anika thing to say bindaas Shivaay ke muh pe😆...and he didn't even blink😆...I liked that she told him she wasn't scared of him either...oh and the bit where she told him to share his lame plans with his champu bodyguards cuz she's not hanging around for that😆.

Shivaay was pretty funny in this scene especially when he was maaroing all that sarcasm about Saahil..."Bada khush lag raha hai...uski behen ki shaadi jo hai"🤣.

5) The surprising switch in the last 5 minutes...I didn't expect that and it was a surprisingly well directed and enacted scene again...

Shivaay almost maniacally theatrical in the way he casually indicated Sahil's car being blown up and the subsequent reactions...the way Anika ran towards the burning car and Shivaay instantly switched from playing the role of ruthless, cold blooded blackmailer to absolutely terrified Shivaay trying to stop Anika from hurting herself...that entire set when he holds her back even as she struggles to run to her Sahil, the devastation on her face as she tries to get to Sahil...the way she keeps repeating to Shivaay, "Aap aisa kaise kar sakte hain...yeh humaare beech ki baat thi...ismein Sahil kahaan se aa gaya"...and then the way she switches to hitting Shivaay😆...I thought she'd slap him but she was shoving and slapping his chest instead😆...

Surbhi was seriously fantastic in the last scene...and Nakul surprised me second day in a row😆...yeh ho kya raha hai😆...the last bit when Shivaay shakes a devastated Anika and shows her that Sahil is still live and this was basically a threat of what could happen...the transition and interaction there was quite nicely shown...Shivaay was essentially trying to restrain here there more than manhandle her since she was busy shoving him around (woh kaafi hil bhi gaya tha😆) and then the way Anika just collapses in front of him with an, "Aap aisa kaise kar sakte hain? Aap itna kaise gir sakte hain?"...I found it interesting that there was more pain from Anika there than anger...she had been put through so much by him at that point...after all that he had done, there should have been more disgust...instead she was just absolutely disappointed in him more than anything...she expected better of him...and something about that moment where she just breaks down crying and collapses onto his chest...in a semblance of a hug, but not quite...it was a very poignant moment...wherein he was both the reason for her pain and the person she ends up seeking solace in as well...both of them did very well in that last bit...I didn't expect that they'd manage to add a touch of poignancy to Shivika at this point with the way things have otherwise gone down😆.

I saw abuse today, I saw Shivaay emotionally abusing Anika, and I saw him feeling equally sad about it. I saw it in his expressions when he ran after her, hoping and praying he reaches her to restrain before she gets hurt. I saw a reflection of her devastation in his eyes as she hit him, and then just broke down against him, and he had to restrain her in his own way, but gently, just enough so she doesn't harm him or herself. But, she did, with every tear, she harmed him. He knew what Sahil's absence would do, and he ruthlessly used it. Why?

The word people need to check out is Amorality. Please. I need people to look it up because shivaay is that. ONE of the major implications of the term is: Right and wrong matter ONLY when it comes to a family member, or family in general. For instance, the mafia.
There needs to be an understanding that there are people whose sense of morals DOES not involve ANYONE beyond their family, and that is ALSO OKAY.
That doesn't imply they are the devil, or a beast.

We do not have to agree with that point of view but it exists.

For BOTH shivaay and Anika, their family, their brothers, ARE the ultimate, that's their weak point, their selfishness, and they can BOTH use it against each other.

ALL I could see in shivaay today was desperation and pain; NO iota of ego. And those who do, god, show me, because it doesn't exist. NOTHING mattered to him beyond the fact that he was disappointed when he danced with his happy family because he felt he would need to hurt them. And he could not do that.

Did you guys SEE how beautifully she broke down in his arms, when she thought there was no one left, there was no Sahil in the world.
Despite it all, despite him, and however he is, HE is the one she could break down with, he was the one who would be able to control her, to bring out in her, the survivor, because he needed her to be strong enough for him to be stronger for now.
And that regret: She just won't get it. She would NEVER get why he did it.

Love is a very easy word to utter; I'd say I battle every day between love and truth; but to make it a verb: To Love, is the hardest action in the world, and Shivaay and Anika are exactly on that colon between noun and verb of Love and To Love.

I do not believe we can stop loving someone, but our feelings transform. I do not expect this nuance, but the way they liked each other will alter from how they will like each other in the future.

I do not know even now if this covered everything, but I don't think I can write anything more without being romantic, so I'll leave it for comments.

Love
Geet

This👏👏 So beautifully written, Geet!

LOL I was all ready to troll the epi as usual yesterday but the last 5 minutes took me by surprise😆...I didn't think they'd manage to add that poignancy again but somehow they did😆

Mujhe kuch likhne ki zaroorat nahi jab AY likh rahi ho... Ditto hi bolungi... I wrote the same in your post as well yesterday... That I laughed the whole time in the episode but the last scene just took me so much by surprise.. It was so beautiful and poignant...sigh..! Surprisingly, last two episodes as a viewer I enjoyed and loved a lot.

I realized after this scene especially that these two absolutely shine in the scenes where they get to play off each other one on one...and this has been a surprisingly long stretch of them getting these kind of scenes...starting with the Monday scene and the whole flip...then Tuesday with the chase and blackmail...warna is shown mein kahaan itna uninterrupted time dete hain in dono ko for the impact of the scenes to come through...I suspect this won't last long and it will go back to the usual random other people filler scenes soon enough😆...but for me personally, for once they actually managed to get it right by not ruining everything in the random editing.

Another thing...this bit they show in every hate shaadi track in shows...the zabardasti shaadi and then sudden concern in some trip/catch scene where the guy stops the girl from falling or something and audience is given some token solace that look he still loves her😆...I always roll my eyes at this.

But I liked the approach they took for Shivika...the stakes were actually high for a change and the route they took of showing Shivaay's concern for Anika underneath all the rage that's riding him...with the way he ran to stop her from getting to the burning car...nice touch. Even the last bit, his expressions were interesting...almost like he let her cry out her desperation in that moment...a sadness for both for both of them, for the whole situation.
