PART THREE
"So...How is life?" his voice, brought her back to reality. "Without me?" he added more, leaving not a single chance to remind her about their separation. He stood behind her, without walking front. Her fingers unknowingly clutched her saree in her fist. She really didn't want that. She really didn't wish for a face-off with him.
"That's none of your business" a bitter reply came from her, as she turned towards him. Though she didn't say much but still, her poker face said everything.
"Tum kabse mujhse alag ho gayi? Everything related to you still comes under my business Anika...YOU are my business" he declared, stressing over his words, making it crystal visible that she could neither keep herself away from him nor could she consider her different from him. He would not let her do that.
"No I am not" she replied immediately. A sudden wave of "It all ended the day when I walked out of your life...It all ended the day I broke my every tie with you" she held back the thin layer of tears which was making its appearance in her eyes.
That was it. He pulled her by her arms, pinning her to the wall, locking her there. She was gazing at ground, making all the efforts she could, to get out of his grip.
"Stop! I said stop" he was maintaining his tone low as he was aware of the fact that Ayan was sleeping. He held her hands in a tighter grip, yet making sure that it would not hurt her.
"Whatever was between you and me...was between US...You and me were equally involved so how did you alone decide to walk out? How did you alone decide to break this relation? Tell me, how?" he asked, with his tone instantly changed, filled with lots of emotions. He was angry at her, frustrated at her and at the same time he was broken from deep inside when she just left him like that, without his consent, without even informing him.
She kept gazing at every possible direction except him. "Leave me Shivaay...you are hurting me" she said, lifting her face at him, looking at him with her agonizing eyes. He loosened his hold on her, when he caught a glimpse of her tears filled eyes.
Sliding his hand from her arm to her cheek, he held her face, cupping it gently, "Why Anika, why?...why you left? Why didn't you tell me? Say...how could you just leave me like that? You didn't think twice that how would I live without you?...esa kya ho gaya jo tum ese sab chodke yaha aa gayi, bina mujhe bataye?" he urged her to speak up while she chose to remain quiet.
His hold on her became gentle. His voice softened and his eyes sharpened as he looked deep in her eyes, "Anika...Mujhe batana jaroori nahi samjha? Apne Shivaay par itna bhi bharosa nahi tha?"
That was it! It was more painful than anything else. He wasn't complaining. He wasn't arguing. It was the heartache that she didn't feel important to let him know things. It was the agony that she couldn't trust him enough to make him aware of the things. A stream of tears rolled down from her eyes. She couldn't take it anymore. The next moment, she was in arms, circling her hands tightly around his neck, whispering, "Sorry Shivaay"
He took no time to do the same. Protectively wrapping his arms around her, he held her closer, letting her do whatever she was doing, letting her say whatever she was saying. He kept rubbing her back, gently. "I am really sorry" she kept apologising to him again and again.
"I trust you Shivaay...I trust you, more than myself, more than anyone else" she suddenly got out of the hug, pulling herself back. "You are not at fault Shivaay" she said, meeting his eyes with her tears still not stopping.
"It's me Shivaay...It's me" she whined painfully, lowering her eyes. "I don't deserve you...you deserve someone better" she asserted while her heart sank saying those words. She lifted her tearful eyes at him, "You deserve someone better...not me" nodding her head negatively and she fell down on her knees with an intense break down.
The severity of her pain ripped his heart out. He for a moment was taken aback with her outburst. He had not expected, at least not that much.
"Anika, look at me...Look at me Anika" his hands took her face in them as he kneeled down in front of her. Lifting her face, he made her look at him. Her eyes still couldn't meet his. More tears rolled down as he wiped her tears.
"I am here, you understand this? I am here Anika and I promise, I promise to make everything alright...all you have to do is just to trust me...can you do that?" he used his ever so loving tone with her.
Her shivering figure froze hearing him. "No Shivaay...you should leave from here" she said, wiping off her tears. Standing up, she turned to the other side, letting her back face him, "Nothing can happen now...please Shivaay, for my sake...just leave" She literally pleaded him to leave from there, to leave her alone, to move away from her.
"Enough Anika...I am not listening this rubbish of yours anymore" getting up, he said. He was tired, tired of being away from her, tired of her running from things, especially from him, tired of living a life without her. He never imagined his life without her for a day since the time she arrived in his life and two years, two damn years he couldn't see her, couldn't hear her voice. That was more than enough to break his patience level.
"Tell me, what's my mistake? Please, please Anika...you dont know, how I lived in these two years...I was only breathing, and that too in hope of finding you one day...and when I did, you are asking me to go...don't push me into those dark lanes again Anika...this time...I won't be able to survive...I really won't" his words were icebreaking. He poured his heart out to her, mentioning what life was for him, in those two years, without her presence in it. It was meaningless. She completed him. Without Anika, there was no Shivaay. It was only SSO, rude and ruthless SSO.
"I love you Anika, I really do" he said, touching his forehead to her as he leaned forward. Their eyes automatically got closed the soon they felt the blissful feeling of being with each other. They had not even heard each other's voices from two years...two long years which seemed no less than two centuries to them. It had been a real long, since they had been that much close to each other. The closeness was, a matter of fact was like reliving the time they had shared together in past. They had spent a beautifully amazing time together.
"Please don't do this...to you...to me...to us. Please Anika" his tears fell from his eyes, having their touch to let Anika's cheeks as well. Realizing their position, she pulled herself away from him. He stared at her, wide opening his eyes. She felt suffocating. She felt like getting stabbed several times with a knife seeing his vulnerable condition.
"Shivaay" her soft voice made his ears pleased. Ages! After ages, he heard his name from her mouth and that sounded beautiful, just beautiful! She took a step towards him, raising her hand to wipe his tears but he backed off. "Not until you end this" he said, as his hand wiped off his tears, composing himself in front of her.
"Anika"
They turned their heads towards the voice and found Anisha standing there. Anisha wanted to greet Shivaay but she couldn't afford letting Anika know that she had called him there, not at-least till, they resolve their misunderstandings.
Anika turned to other side and quickly wiped off her tears. "Anii, where were you? You know how worried I was?" Anika asked, moving towards her.
"Bola to tha na, I had went to meet a friend, but..." Anisha looked at Shivaay first and then at Anika. She took no time to sense that they both had an emotional outburst just sometime before. Anika immediately spoke, "Anii, he is Shivaay...and he is leaving from here in sometime" It shocked Anisha and Shivaay as well.
"Haan, le lo tum abhi bhi decisions akele...sab akele hi decide kar lo..." his anger said. "And yes you are right, I am leaving. Bye Anika...tumhe apni zidd aur zindagi, dono Mubarak ho" the moment he uttered that he was leaving, it snatched the ground beneath her feet. Her knees went weak. She felt her throat getting dry. He glanced at once and picking up his bag, he walked out from her home, without turning back even once. Her legs couldn't move. She was falling apart with the steps he was taking away from her. Her soul was breaking by the separation, she herself chose for them. She wanted to call him, but no words came out within her. She wanted to run to him and stop him, but she had no strength within her to do so. She wanted to melt in his embrace, but she had no courage to do so. All what she could do, was to watch her soul leaving her body again, to watch her life leaving her again, to see the upcoming pain which was going to tore her apart after his separation.
