Whoa. Three power-packed episodes in a row has me reeling.
This one, however, left me in a mushy mess because it encapsulated all the feels so beautifully❤️
The episode made me all the more aware of how change is the only constant in our lives. We evolve, meet new people, leave old friends and acquaintances behind, travel to new places, while leaving our homes😳
Forgive me for going on a philosophical rumination there- but I think this is precisely what Anika and Shivaay went through today.
Personally, I was befuddled with yesterday's episode because I was hankering for the return of the fiery Anika who would tell SSO off for his misguided rant. But SC has apparently clarified that Anika didn't listen in on the conversation- which has me relieved because it would have been out of character for Anika to take it so tamely.
In today's episode, her stance, her perspective, was much more clear. Khidki Tod family, she says. Of course the Oberois are far from being picture perfect, but for Anika, an orphan, they are the stuff that only dreams are made of. Eventually, each member of the family accepted her, made her feel welcome...and made her feel as if she belonged. As if she was at home.
Change, the familiar boon/bane strikes again, and Anika is only reminded too painfully, that this phase was temporary- her job and her stint at the Oberois has come to an end.
The AniRud conversation for me was the highlight of the episode⭐️ Rudra is so effin adorable in this scene- he resents change too, especially when people he loves are taken away from him. He has come to accept this madcap girl as his sister...Anika didi, as he adoringly calls her. To have her going away is a jolt to his universe, to its comfortable and familiar rhythms.❤️ He took note of the fact that she didn't have lunch, brought her a cup of tea...man, if anyone ever says that Rudra is dumb, I am going to give them a beating they will never forget😡
The AniOmRuPri scene was a show stealer, because it demonstrated yet again that Jhanvi as a parent is a class apart- she has groomed her children into becoming caring, empathetic individuals, able to look beyond class and wealth. Their acknowledgment of Anika as a friend warmed the cockles of her heart, making her say that she will miss all of this- this acceptance, this warmth, asking nervously for an assurance that they will not forget her. Om's shayari about dosti (dosti bura maan jayegi) was again spot on, and tells you how Om the artist and Om the amazing human being feed off each other⭐️
Shivaay listens on, and is suddenly struck by the inexorable and inevitable nature of change. Like it or not, he had come to accept this chappal phekne wali Paanika as a part of his life. Listening to her chatter, arguing with her, silently appreciating her fortitude, their verbal spars- it has become a part of his routine. To have her say that it's her akhri din- jolts him out of his complacency, making him wonder about the possibility of a humdrum, Anika-less existence. Where he would be solely the cold-hearted SSO, the ruthless and manipulative businessman, yet functioning as a wall for the family he nurtures and protects. He'd be deprived of his own wall, the woman whose existence makes him feel alive and joyous...reminds him of the vitality of living, and reveling in every moment of it.
His remembrances by the pool only add to his confusion, and though Tia's call makes him think about the absurdity of it all, one glimpse at Anika suffices to make him a hot emotional mess again. The glimpse of her in the middle of a flower-bedecked mandap- is enough to make him fantasize about a "What if"- what if things had been simpler, and he had the freedom to follow the call of his heart?
I find it really cute when Shivaay is scared of Om dropping Anika- he has been scared, ever since Anika appreciated Om, his artistic side and his sensitivity. 😆
The comment about how the galiyaan around her house are confusing, belies Shivaay's state of mind too- his mind is an endless labyrinth- and he is yet to come to the conclusion that all roads lead to her⭐️
The car scene was again pregnant with feeling- both were filled with foreboding about the unexpected changes in their lives. SSO bursts out at her mention of "Akhri din"...an indication of his inability to come to terms with her impending exit from his life. But for once he also made a pleasant change happen- he says thanks to her for the first time
Anika congratulates him on his upcoming nuptials, and expresses her confusion about the upcoming changes in her life. The way she insisted that she was not asking for a job made me happy- that's Anika for you- independent and courageous!👏
Shivaay also confesses how his life will be incomplete, about how momentous tomorrow is going to be. I felt for him then- life is dragging him along a course that was completely unexpected and out of the blue. His emotions are all over the place. He is marrying a woman he is not interested in. He is engaged in a classic duel of the mind and the heart. He is more confounded and damned than Anika, who doesn't really realize that her life has begun to revolve around this man "irg gird ghoomta hai"...about the stirrings of a remarkable and all overpowering love. But he has. And he doesn't know what to do with it.
We know, however, that some changes can change you for the better, Shivaay and Anika- and we know that some very pleasant changes lie in store for you two! So till then, hang on:)😳
