see Shivaay is the name we use for the most commonly seen version of Shivji...the householder...ANika is synonymous with Parvati ji who was the companion of Lord Shiva...

Omkara or Onkar is the primordial sound that rings through the universe giving birth to things...again Ishana is a name for goddess Durga..the primordial Shakti who enervates all things in the universe...

in Rudra's case this differs and i think maybe the cvs were foreshadowing here...

Rudra is the angry version of Lord Shiva...and Saumya means something soft and mellow...the fact that Rudra was given this name and not Omie jaan , maybe the cvs put some thought behind it...

their names are pretty well thought about in my honest opinion...

Shivaay is the nurturer aspect of Lord Shiva. He is the one who sheds his all to serve his children. When Mahadev does that, Aadi-Shakti Parvati takes the form of Anika, who is synonymous with focus. She bring the focus of the world to Mahadev. That is how Anika and Shivaay make sense. Both are complemenatry characters. Shivaay tends to forget himself but Anika brings the reminder to him.

Rudra is the other aspect of Mahadev. He is also hailed as the Roarer. He is always depicted as someone walking amid the sunset. At first glimpse he looks like the poise, gentle man but Rudra is the fierce aspect of Mahadev and he is an avenger. One who doesn't deferenciate between anything and in order to bring him out of this avatar, Parvati takes the form of Soumya which is another name of Gauri. She is the gentle. So far we haven't seen Rudra take up that form but it might happen soon.

Omkara on the other hand is the meditating form of Shiva. One who stays aloof and in order to connect him to the world back Parvati takes the form of Ishana, which means Maya. The trem Maya in Hindu Mythology means the illusion and life is taken as one. So in order to make the meditating one an active part of the world Parvati turns into Maya as Ishana.

The names are well thought of but the characters aren't developed that way. At least Anika and Soumya have something worthwhile but Ishana is a complete no-no.
