Hi guys, i am usually a silent member but i recently became active on another forum. Anyway i just heard Ishkara's o saathiya song- omg! Im in love! ❤️ Such a lovely composition! 👏 Makes you really root for the couple.. both actors look really good together. Very compatible- physically. However, the characters themselves are a different matter.
I am aware that this issue has been raked over the coals time and time again. Trust me im not bashing, just the song motivated me to give my two cents. 😊
There is no doubt that the CVs have gone terribly wrong with Ishana's characterisation. It's all over the place and not to mention we have a hard time following her track or even her motivation. Why is she trying to break up om and riddhima again? Wasn't she in urgent need of money or something?
I think the cvs made a mistake trying to make all 3 leads bubbly, cheerful types. Especially for a character like Omkara. Seriously is he the type to fall for such a character? He already considers soumya his sister and probably annika as well. No, a person like Om would have been attracted to a soulful person. Most probably quiet and reserved. I know its opposites attract, truth vs falsehood... but given some thought they could have come up with a great character.
Now i see that the actress is already a dancer, wouldn't it have made more sense to make her a dancer/dance teacher- maybe a classical dancer. Someone who is living a lie/false identity, with a hidden past. Maybe a past abusive relationship/family etc. Someone who is secretive and afraid of opening up to outsiders- especially a certain "intense look" oberoi.
A dancer who will be his muse... who he will fall in love with, unaware of her secret... i could go on..
Because i can seriously picture a more calm, reserved Ishana and an intense Om with O sathiya playing in the bg. Its that kind of a song.
Now i know its wishful thinking.. nothing can be done about it. But im sure a lot of fans would willingly have selective amnesia if the show re-introduces ishana's character and storyline. 😆 But thats not gonna happen.
In my opinion, one thing that could redeem Ishkara would be to expose ishana in front of Om. Om should give her a piece of his mind but also maybe pay off her dad's gambling debt to protect them. And ishana would feel guilty and have a change of heart. She should decide to earn an honest living( maybe by giving dance lessons- the idea is stuck in my mind 😛) and try to earn Om's forgiveness by living honestly amongst hardships. And Om should probably come to terms with the fact that it is not possible to be honest and forthright always.. some are a victim of circumstances- in this case her dad's gambling addiction (although its hard to sympathize because Ishana's motivation was oscillating between majboori and enjoyment of her family profession).
Whew i've written a lot... sorry if it comes across as rambling. What are your views?
