Part 2

Shivaay paced in front of the operation theatre while Om and Rudra were leaning against the wall. It's been 2 hours since her operation started and the doctors would not tell them anything. Shivaay has already threatened to close their hospital but Omkara calmed him down. Even he was worried and also angry at his brother for his stupidity but he would always be there for him.

"Shivaay, have some water"

"Don't be Anika" he said and his blue eyes widen at the realisation. He remembered how scared he was of water especially from her. It would always end up on his face. He shuddered remembering how she threw dirty cleaning water on his face unknowingly. She was totally crazy and made him crazy.

"Bhaiya, bhabhi will be okay right?" Rudra whispered, clutching his hands. Shivaay hugged him to console him and looked at Om who nodded. Just then the operation theatre opened and the doctor came out.

"Doctor! How is Anika? Is she ok? What happened?" Omkara rushed to the doctor while Shivaay stayed rooted to his place, his heart beat increasing with fear.

Nothing will happen to her

"Are you the patient's husband?"

"No doctor, Im her brother in law. Her husband is... " Om looked towards Shivaay and the doctor understood.

"Well, Mr Oberoi.." Doc turned towards Shivaay and spoke "your wife is out of danger. And I have to say she is very lucky. The baby is safe which is no less than a huge miracle. After such a big accident, nothing happened to your baby"

'Baby?" All three brothers echoed together and was shell shocked. Shivaay finally broke out of his trance and rushed to the doctor.

"What do you mean baby?"

"Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you knew. Your wife is pregnant Mr. Oberoi. She is 2 months along. Congratulations" Doctor replied and smiled at Shivaay whose world turned upside down for the second time that day.

Anika is pregnant?

Anika is pregnant!

But how? We didn't...

Siddharth? No! No! Think Shivaay think... Did anything happen that night?

"Bhaiya? Oh bhaiyaaa!!! Congratulations!!!" Rudra broke Shivaay's thoughts and jumped right into his arms. Shivaay held him and smiled though he was having a hard time believing it. Om also joined the hug but he noticed Shivaay's expression and knew his brother was thinking something and it couldn't be good.

"Let's go meet bhabhi. I need to see her and congratulate her.. Bhaiya I'm going to be a chachu" Rudra said happily and wiped his tears of joy.

"You mean chote chachu" Om corrected him and lightly hit his head.

"Yes!!! same thing. Can we meet her doctor?" Rudra turned towards the doctor.

"Yes but after we shift her to recovery ward. We have a few more check ups to do because of her condition but you can meet her after"

"Thank you doctor. Thank you so much for saving our Anika" Om said and held the doctors hand.

...

Om and Rudra went to the canteen to get some snacks while Shivaay sat outside Anika's room waiting for his brothers. He was still in shock and didn't know what to think and believe. He wanted to trust her, he wanted to believe she would never cheat on him but he saw them. Together. Laughing. And his blood started boiling again. He needed to remember that night and fast. It's all because of Rudra. His younger brother forced him to enjoy a few drinks with him and then sent him to his room winking at him. He didn't understand his plan then. He was more drunk than usual and stumbled into his room only to find every surface covered with candles and the bed was decorated for a wedding night.

He remember cursing his brother when he tripped and out of nowhere Anika tried to hold him but they both ended up on the bed. In her language, the wind blew, her hair blew and moment hogaya. But he remember drowning in her beautiful eyes and leaning in. She had gripped his back so tightly, her marks were still there 3 days later. He knew he had kissed her because her taste was still there since then. They were awkward the next day and he thought it was because he had kissed her but now he wasn't too sure.

Did we go all the way?

Is that what she wanted to tell me?

A nurse came out of Anika's private room and saw Shivaay "You can meet your wife now Mr Oberoi" she smiled and left to give the couple privacy. Shivaay didn't know how to go inside and face her. Actually he didn't even know what to say. So many things happened in one day and now he was lost. What if he went in to see her and she told him the baby was Siddharth's?

NO!

That can't happen, It won't happen.

He was debating with himself when Om and Rudra returned with not only their snacks but with different coloured balloons with "Congratulations" written across, flowers, teddy bears and a few gift bags. "Look what we got for bhabhi, bhaiyaa" Rudra skipped to Shivaay and showed him everything Om and him got for his dearest bhabhi and his niece or nephew.

"That's great" Shivaay smiled seeing his brothers enthusiasm.

"Why are you still standing here Shivaay? Can we meet Anika now?" Om asked, concerned.

"Oh yeah yeah. We can meet her now. I was waiting for you two"

Omkara knew Shivaay was thinking too much at the moment and they also needed to sort out their misunderstanding. He thought maybe now Shivaay is feeling guilty and will apologise to Anika but little did he know Shivaay is going through another turmoil altogether. He didn't even remember how his own wife got pregnant and he can't seem to remember past the kiss.

I am never ever getting drunk again

"Let's go then. The to-be papa first" Rudra giggled and pushed Shivaay in front. Opening the door, all three stepped in.

...

Anika didn't know what do to. She was all set to teach him a lesson and walk out of his life when God again linked her with him. Through their baby. She caressed her flat belly. There was still time for her to start showing but she could feel her baby and she loved the feeling. She was upset and disappointed in Shivaay but she could never regret their baby. She turned towards the window and cried silently as she thought of Shivaay blaming her for betraying him.

That baggad billa, how dare he blame me?

I will not talk to him. Let him think whatever he wants

First he blackmails me and forces me to get married to him and then he gets talli and ...

I was in my senses though. I should have stopped him.

No! It's his fault. No one told him to take advantage.

But now what do I do? If it was only me I would have gone but I can't keep the baby away from him and his family.

Just when she started wiping her tears, Shivaay, Om and Rudra came in the room. Anika glanced at Shivaay and found him looking at her thoughtfully and she turned to Om and Rudra. She smiled when she saw the balloons and flowers.

"Bhabhiii!!!! Congratulations. Aap mama air main chote chachu banne waale hain" Rudra quipped happily and made his way next to Anika and hugged her. She hugged him back and ruffled his hair. He smiled and gave her flowers and tied the balloons to her bedside table. Om also came forward and congratulated her then hugged her.

"Thanks Rudra, thanks Om" Anika was happy because she got the best devars on earth. Baggad billa can stand there brooding all he wants it will not affect her. Om looked at Shivaay as he stood there awkwardly and looked everywhere apart from Anika.

"Erm Rudra, let's go. We should give the to be parents some time alone. What say?"

"O you are absolutely right"

"No no" Anika and Shivaay said in unison and looked at each other. It was already awkward and if Om and Rudra left, they would either start arguing or kill each other. But Om and Rudra didn't listen and quickly ran out closing the door behind them.

...

"Dekhiye..."

"Look..." They said simultaneously after 10 minutes of awkward silence and stopped. "Go on" Anika offered but Shivaay didn't know what to say and where to start so he asked her to say what she wanted.

"Dekhiye, I don't care if you don't believe me or don't trust me. I would have gone long time back but now this..."

"Anika... I..."

"Im not done Mr Oberoi. But I am done with your revenge, your blackmail and your big ego. I am not going to justify myself to you especially after the accusations. All Im going to say is this baby is mine and I don't need you or your help. I can't stop you or your family from meeting the baby but I also can't stay with you when you think so little of me. If you don't want anything to do with the baby, I'm okay with that. I will raise my own child. If you want to meet him or her then I won't stop you either but I can't and won't deal with you anymore. Im done with your tantrums and mood swings. Jab dekho your mood changes and I don't know what to expect. Out of nowhere you take care of me and then throw me away like I'm some used paper. I don't..."

"I only have one question Anika" Shivaay interrupted.

"What?"

"Is this my baby?" He whispered and her gasp echoed in the room.
