After nearly a 5 year hiatus am finally back to watching Hindi serials. So many new faces now, but good to see jyoti06 still very much active. Not sure if any of you remember me from the Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuen Forum ... Anyways my old email was deactivated so have had to re- register. Actually have been stalking the ISA forum the last 2 weeks with the updates, I caught this serial by chance and have been hooked to it. Everything seemed ok till last week when there has been a sudden downturn in the story line, so guess am here with my POV.
My take of ISA so far :
The Good - Fresh Idea, started off really well with a very beautiful and electrifying couple (Adnan & Eisha), beautiful portrayal of how even as an adult you allow the elders decide for you, the loyalty to your family, the beauty of the religion - agreed various mazhabs but each practice it to their own guidelines ,most importantly it was fun watching how a smart, bold and beautiful women could slowly yet difficultly start changing a very orthodox and reserved man in the name of love.
The Bad - Currently, the Ego clashes have escalated in such a way that you can't even enjoy the cute scenes between the leads. The family entity bit seems to be all of a pathetic crying melodrama (esp between Zara and the MIL). Too much of sadness and stubbornness that the CV's have worked into the script that makes it difficult to fathom if Ishq is even there anymore
The Horrible - The multiplying of villains. Just having Ruks and her sister with the Siraj fiasco was way annoying. And we even know they are still very much active with their deeds. Now we got to content with Nilo and Miraj. Another 2 creepy creatures who seem to be getting away with everything. Worse part is CV's have butchered Kabir's character so much it is on the brink of non-redeemable even if they decide to have lovey dovey flashbacks. Zara has been reduced to a loudmouth who does not seem to know there is conspiracy but more involved with just social services and totally disregard your husband. Agreed she did a huge deed but she could have won the battle better if she had remained with her reserved husband and tried to convince him rather than agree to those ladies and leave her in laws. Her MIL no matter what supports her, and even went to the mosque with her so I do not see why they have to portray her being so stubborn. Also now CV's making Qazi and his wife look bad. Seriously, isn't the 4 villians plus a Shahbaz not enough that you need more negativity?
Sorry for such a long ranting... but just feel such a shame that if the Talaq sequence is the way it's headed with them separating and a leap ... I just feel it's like an airplane taking a quick nosedive into a volcano
