@Mish: now the link doesn't work for me either, may be it is blocked. Didn't know about tvyaar, seems to be good website for tv shows. pl. check out the show when you get chance.
@DAZZ: Wonder what parameters changed from then and now.. Why so much preference on TRPs??? Seems that TRP is making life really tough for makers as well as the viewers...

TRPs are the parameters set for earning revenue, Ami. The higher the ratings, the more expensive the ads. This wasn't the case fifteen years ago when television shows were simple with modest budgets. I honestly feel Ekta Kapoor changed the entire algorithm of television with her cult shows - Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thih, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, and Kausati Zindagi Ki. Her shows were all over the top and ran for seven to eight years without respite! How long have you guys all been watching Indian television? 😳

Not for too long. I was busy with school & career when I missed some very good shows.
I have been watching for almost 5 yrs now.
Dazz, would you believe if I told you my first show was BALH 😆
( started midway, but caught up on the previous episodes later which were the best )

I then sort of tried catching a few other old shows on YT ( IPKKND, Dil Mil Gaye...)
In fact I started IKRS too a liile late & then caught up with most of the earlier episodes
though I missed the very beginning ones which I regret even now.
Oh & Dazz I recently heard about this Pak show " Zindagi Ka Safar " ...
it was highly recommended. Have you watched it & is it really that good?
If so, I might want to watch, because have come across many comments in
IF buzz articles recommending Pak shows vs Indian drama.

@ Ami...I have always watched Desi shows online &
TVyaar has been my most reliable site for Hindi shows lately...(earlier it was Apne TV)

Awww Mish, BALH was such an amazing show! 😃 I missed a whole bunch of shows like LTL while I was away for med school as well. 😳 I haven't heard of Zindagi Ka Safar. I just recently started watching Baaghi in addition to Toa Dil Ka Kya Hua and Lout Ke Chalay Aana. They're all good shows with stellar casts! 😉 Pakistani shows are amazing, Mish! They may not be produced on a grand scale like Indian shows, but the actors and scripts are incredible there. 👏 I would suggest following Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai to get a feel for their shows. Fawad Khan is a superstar and immensely talented. I really think you would like watching those two shows. 😊 I can recommend a while bunch of shows after those two. 😎 Another good Indian show to watch from the late 90s is Kora Kagaz with Renuka Shahane and Salil Ankola. A very good story!

Hmm, now things revolve around revenues...
In my case family used to watch Indian shows especially Zee, so occassionally would end up watching clips of some shows in the evening or weekends...
In my case ISHQ is the only show that I watched from beginning to end..

Wasn't Zee the first channel to launch in India? 😳 I've always been more of a fan of the shows on Sony over Star Plus and Zee. Sony moved away from the typical saas bahu saga years ago. Ami, have you watched Mishal's other shows?

Oops, sorry Dazz that was Yakeen ( not Zindagi ) Ka Safar.
I tried to watch a couple of episodes. It definitely seems interesting. I will have to make time
& watch the rest .
Thanks for recommending other shows. I had read about Humsafar, Fawad khan
& their popularity
I think it was Aired on Zindagi channel. I really wanted to watch it but
unfortunately Zindagi is not available on any online site. It's blocked, I think.
And if I am not wrong, has he not moved on to movies ??

But will try to watch others that you have mentioned. Something good to watch
until M Raheja comes back with some new show/ project...😳

Mish, all Pakistani shows are available on YouTube. 😃 You'll be able to find Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai there. Fawad did graduate on to such films as Khoobsurat with Sonam Kapoor, Kapoor and Sons with Sidharth and Alia, and he also did a cameo in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He's now doing Pakistani cinema and I'm excited for his next. If there has ever been a lethal combination of looks and acting prowess, then it is Fawad Khan without a second's hesitation. Please watch Kapoor and Sons, Mish! Fawad and Sid were both fantastic along with Rajat Kapoor and Ratna Pathak. 👍🏼
