Human's love to indulge in beautification, embellishments to express emotional joy before others. It may mean to adorn themselves in special clothes and ornaments or to decorate their environment to mark a special occasion. The idea is to give joy to themselves and to include others in cascading their happiness. Weddings in world cultures is such an occasion where ornamentation takes place amongst peoples and surroundings. However a makeover may also suggest a surface cover up of how things fare in reality. For there may times when our manifestation of beauty whether upon our self or around our surroundings , may not be a sincere representation of how we feel. To me the episode is an expression of the fact that "a thing of beauty .." is other than joy, and more like a pretence. However if one goes along with the charade to give joy to others despite one's sorrow , it then comes under the category of one being a giver rather than a taker!
The wedding decor speaks loudly of a commune wedding where one to all of the ghetto is invited. The magnanimity of Parshiya and Pratibha makes an impression on the community but most of all on the vulnerable mother and daughter. Without a doubt he is a good man too formally take on the responsibility of a single parent and her child. As far as Parshiya goes , Dhani's ex has enough negativity piled up against him to tip the balance in his favour so Parshiya thanks his lucky stars that the day has arrived at last where Dhani and her child will be his for keeps. Thus the beauty around him , his grooming is to give himself joy. For he once vowed to get Dhani he would go to any lengths! So this still baffles me did he send the small happy family selfie to Kamini?? why?
Although her daughter is ready all beautified for her mother's marriage ,when she will gain a dad! Dhani sits dressed in her purple Maharasthrian sari unadorned..to decorate herself with traditional gold jewellery is a tedious process. She is going through this ritual for the sake of giving love to her mother and daughter. She smiles and reflects is not giving to others too, then an overt way of receiving the beauty of love? This is the hardest moments of her life although without ornaments she sits before the mirror on her wedding day. Dhani still is adorned with the jewels of Viplav's love whether anyone can see them or not ? She knows them and sees them.. The weak moment passes to remind her of Viplav's letter, where he wants her to marry Parshiya.. That is fine she thinks, but how can she dress or bedecked herself for any other than Viplav? She cannot do it! Dhani falters.. Well then! Viplav turns up beside her dressing table and his eyes plead to her .. Adorn yourself Dhani ,for Parshiya .. Do it for Vidha's future.. Lovingly Viplav embellishes his love with ornaments of sacrificial, forfeited love! Here sits before the mirror, the woman he loves but had let down..now he beautifies her with his own hands so his flower fairy Vidha can have the father he never was .. Viplav turns to walk away from her side by the dressing table .. Dhani calls out to him to stop! Don't go Viplav! But Dulari grabs Dhani's arm midair snaps her daughter out of her useless reverie and reminds Dhani of the real purpose she is jumping through the hoops! To acquire a father for Vidha! Cvs brought in this scene to reiterate the return of the male lead. Unreal !
What is real is a stirred Viplav in captivity and his love for Dhani ! his dismissal of his worldly wife Kamini. She will not be wasting time over him, she needs him to be up and away! and be witness to a couple of key events which should tell him clearly that his power, glory including his love are defunct now!
As a dressed and groomed lamb led to the slaughter house by her mother Dulari and pitiful circumstances. Dhani wishes to do the one decent thing.. surely her mother will grant her that last request before she is slaughtered. Dhani strives to be not a insensitive, cruel ex -widow .she was once the one to seek the blessings of elders before an auspicious occasion. What could be more auspicious for her than her third marriage this time to Parshiya. She needs dadi s blessings and so just like old times she phones Viplav's princess! tells her she is about to marry Parshiya ,for which she needs her blessings! dadi being a good woman predominantly whole hearted gives Dhani her blessings. Much to Dhani's delight Dadi already has a soft spot for Dhanis next husband to be, as he made her Viplav's release possible ! By showing pleasure at Dhani's decision to marry Parshiya dadi actually in a way admits her family's including Viplav's unfairness to Dhani!
Weddings are a notorious breeding ground for tittle tattle so this one is no exception . In fact some of Pratibha's neighbourly women bend her ears with scandalous news about this pretty girl Dhani her son Parshiya's is about to marry! She was previously a widow! Ill omen for all men she marries! Pratibha is simple ,raw and loud but she is hardcore realistic and can see the beauty of how things happen in her life.. and not how some tradition dictates her to follow .So one look at the beautiful interaction her son Parshiya is having with little Vidha ,forces Pratibha to shut wagging tongues. As far as she can see her son was way ward! directionless !Dhani widow or jinxed is the woman is the one who brought her son on the right track! Pratibha thus comes out with fairly modern thinking and mindset! Giving respect and dignity to all god's creation!
The wicked witch never really loved Viplav .In fact she is out to punish him for taking Dhani's name when he came around even though she stood straight before him. Viplav stands before the temple where Dashrant marries Durga at last! and gives Tripurari his name and birthright. Kamini loves it! when Viplav stands afar and hears his dadi ji proclaim that as of now! his son Tripurari will becalled a tirpathi , be the handler of his business and be the named heir of his estate. Viplav faces the first bit of reality after his drugged state. Does he make out what goes on? Surely the drugs are still in his blood stream? Well this for Viplav is not the last wedding he will witness.. Here he loses his birthright. In fact his birthright is now questionable? Tripurari is his step brother and is elder than him.. Now the question is which brother will the wicked witch latch on too??
To me this was a lukewarm episode but still have to check my negativity and fish out for beauty in the episode.. If it's in terms of jewellery Viplav's dadi stands out bedecked with the gems of benevolence and graciousness when she blesses Dhani for her marriage. Dhani too wears jewels in the belief of her traditional values of respecting elders and honouring her mother Dulari. Above all she is adorned with the rare piece of jewellery which puts other's interests before hers. Finally Pratibha , Parshiya s mother wears the ornament of compassion and mercy around her neck when she embraces an ex-widow and abandoned mother with her child into her house hold. I would like to add Dashrant with his sun /son pendant of integrity around his neck in marrying Durga at last but.. wary of his motives.. so the true beauty of one's person's adornment lies not skin deep but in what the person is really like under the surface.. hamlet53 29.7.16
Precap: Viplav hugs dadi feels lost needs to see Dhani his only sincere relation..dadi has tears in her eyes.. Viplav heads towards Dhani's ghetto to get another shock... will he end up high and dry? No power..no love? makes me feel bitter what did he do so bad? This is a raw deal for Viplav..
