Four years later, he'll be seen in a new avatar in the TV show 'Ishq Ka Rang Safed'. It wasn't the dearth of roles that kept him away from acting, he insists, but the fact that nothing intrigued him enough to take them up.
He says, "I was avoiding full-fledged roles as I was waiting for something more substantial, something that excited me to report to the shoot every day. Also,I was setting up my business and so i just took on few co I was setting up my business and so i just took on a few cameos.
However, the one thing common in his shows is the fact that he has always been in relationship with unconventional heroines on screen " for instance, the dark-skinned Nakusha in Laagi... and now, a widow in his new show.
Does he mind being in the same situation in real life too? "Why not? Love has got nothing to do with looks, but with the desire of wanting to be with a person. What's important is compatibility and understanding," he concludes.
I was waiting for the right role to come by. And I also needed some time off because I was setting up my own business and I needed some time and space to concentrate on it. I wanted to play a character only if I was sure how it would shape up. I thought my comeback had to be something that made a difference. Landing the role of Viplav is definitely worth the wait.
How was your experience of working with newcomer Eisha?
Eisha and I share a comfortable equation, which makes it easier to work together. If I am comfortable with my co-actors, there's no way of stopping me from giving my best. It is important to understand the people you work with. She is a very talented and dedicated girl and it's nice to work with someone who believes in giving her hundred percent. I hope our fans enjoy Viplav and Dhani's chemistry.
