Well most of us were feeling that the show was moving out of its original premise. In today's episode I could sense a huge shift back to the original concept
all of you not aware of hindu customs , let me tell you that what was shown today is a very common happening.
This is the way temples and their owners keep getting rich and richer.
In munshi premchand's godaan the climax was that a wife who had just few rs left with which she would feed her family had to donate that money on her husband's death to brahmins so that he would have a cow to take him to heaven. that was godaan.
what I am trying to say is that today we saw DT being addressed as a king of baneras after a long duration.
This donating a gold cat , a superstition that prevails heavily.
all these make me feel that we are going back to the old concept.
And if that is so I will be a happy viewer.
Even if the trp doesnot increase I will have been witness to something worthwhile to the society on screen.
To all of you who are not aware of the customs, even though you want to see taboos being addressed ,it will be very difficult for you to digest certain things. as what was shown today.
They cannot have a daily with only vidha romance. so for me today the show was taking a turn towards good, profound and serious story telling.

Like you said we not only get to see the main story but we also get to learn of customs and traditions in India, which people like me, away from India have no idea at all. I had heard of godaan, because even here in Mauritius when people are about to die we do a ritual, but I had no idea of its root. So thanks dear for the info. We should watch IKRS with an open mind .. Agreed... I have learnt of the aghoris in IKRS when I never knew these tribes existed...So culture is another aspect of IKRS we are getting...

I'm the happy being because today's was far better than KTT torture which was meaningless n also atleast we have a hope that somebody will suspect KTs action now.

The old customs that still prevails in the country...! I never knew about this, will really like to appreciate CVs efforts to bring forth this thing. With all these we get a glimpse of the old IKRS, Dhaani surrounded by the old rituals, and Vip breaking these to protect her. Now, all i want to see is Vip in action with his mind working like it used to.

Never knew that such superstitious customs prevails in places like Banares. If they're treading on the path of addressing those social evils once again then it's a welcome change. More worth watching than TP and KT's 24/7 plotting. It's good to see IKrs team are trying to give good message oriented episodes than drama oriented for the sake of ratings. Thanks for sharing this with us,@TM😊

Thanks Meenu for putting today's episode in perspective and truly I had no understanding of this ritual . Living in metros and abroad one forgets that there do exist places, people and customs that are followed with no sense.

I will see the episode today with this new found information . Thanks.

I am glad that the story is shifting to its original theme of educating the public in their treatment of widows and especially in the Holiest place like Banares.

There are many traditions and rituals still left in India that in this day and age do not make much sense but are still used by greedy corrupt Pundits to line their pockets.

D T himself in one of his rants said I cannot let go of all the "Dakshana" and riches I get from my temple.

This was the reason why I first got interested in this show because I was hoping that the CV's were trying to show the underbelly and hypocrisy of these so called God fearing
Pundits.
