From what I have observed so far is Dhaani was a child bride and that her child husband met his demise where Dhaani was somehow responsible.
Knowing that Dhaani is definitely a virgin. That does not mean that a woman's purity is the only reason one should want to fall in love and marry them.
This show is about widows and their life of complete rejection from the society they are in and their treatment by religious Pundits and the rest of ignorant people.
We see even in the Ashram that there are very old or very young women that are widows. Where are the 30, 40, or even 50 year old women widows ??
These women with children of their own need companionship and a partner that will support and accept them too.
This shows premise has been that a young man brought up in a Pundits house with their regressive thinking dares to go against his rearing and falls in love with a widow.
The CV's have brought in this young girl like Dhaani and a young man like Viplav
to attract viewers to our favourite pastime of seeing love blossom and a fairy tale ending of ..."They lived happily after"
And if Viplav has fallen in love with Dhaani ONLY because she is untouched and pure than he is NOT as progressive as he is shown to be.
