The bereaved family after the death of a loved one , goes through the mourning phase, of which the first is to bury or cremate the loved one. Soon after comes the getting together of family, to offer prayers for the soul of the departed soul. All these are put in place so that the ones suffering from the loss ,find solace through united worship. The episode shows , the effects of losing a dear one ,how grief manifests itself in various ways, how different individuals react in different ways. How in any bereavement, receiving emotional support plays a pivotal role in helping people to come to terms with their loss..
Tripurari continues to bring down the arrogant second mistress with his surly body language and caustic remarks. Seeing Kanak in a white sari ,her might now reduced to a powerless sparrow rather than the proud peacock that once strutted about the mansion, from which she forever barred him from entering. Now she comes and wags her finger at him, well he puts her in her place with the reminder, he happens to be her dead husbands younger brother, who as he places his finger on her lips.. has the right to act cheeky with her as and when required! Kanak glares at him for the breach of familiarity. But Tripurari couldn't care less, he advises her it's best she uses that conniving brain of hers in plotting a division between Viplav and Dhani! and dismisses her by saying she'd better fly away now!..Tripurari chuckles devilishly, he feels he has scored minor victory by default! and he's sure to win more as he will continue to battle till he doesn't drown the whole of Dashrant's family in the blessed Ganges! Kanak deep down may have come to Tripurari for some emotional support seeing that he is an allay, besides she wants to keep him appeased as she felt he may be likely to betray her. How in complete bad taste he adopts a scoffing manner towards her , which she finds unacceptable. and thus threatens him she'll send him right back to where she got him out from.. funny but he does warn her ,whether she likes it or not! DT is alive and kicking!
Blessed are they who have that someone special in their life who have the power to lessen their pain simply by caring and sharing. Viplav sits alone in his room , mulling over the events of the day. Dhani rings and she wants to know about simple down to earth but vital issues that can take effect during the bereavement phase.. had he eaten? and the rest of the family.. as expected he breaks down emotionally and tells her, his babaa's favourite dishes were cooked today.. but he couldn't get a single morsel down his throat when he saw his father's empty chair.. he felt awful he weeps and Dhani supports him, by hearing him out and gently chivvies him on.. keep strong, don't say such things , they don't help the situation.. and Viplav talks about a common thought that a grieving person is likely to say.. Dhani as humans we are odd.. it's only after losing someone close that we realize , that we took that person for granted.. never made the time to spend quality time with them.. one realizes there was so much we had to say to that person.. but then it's too late. today he realizes he had so much to tell papa after his return from Delhi, weeps Viplav.. Dhani , hears his sobs, sniffs ,and regrets and muses it's best he mourns and gets it off his chest.. it's part of dealing with the loss of losing a loved one , a parent, a father!.. still Dhani controls her tears and asks about his mother, how is she? and then as a widow, a woman.. she sighs and tells him, his mother needs him the most.. but he apologizes the way his mother behaved with her at the funeral site, but Dhani continues.. she is fine.. but he needs to be beside his mother, don't leave her by herself... as she knows what his mother is going through right now.. here comes Dhani 's genuine support for his mother she can relate to his mother's grief.. it's common factor now between them his mother and her.. possibly Dhani needed support , but was denied it when she became a young widow.. Viplav's mother is blessed she has a caring son like Viplav.. Dhani consoles herself.. but still wants Viplav to assure her that he would support his mother.. Viplav tells her he will. But then he talks about his own support from Dhani.. he asks her would she be coming for prayers for his father tomorrow? Dhani knew it's part of the ritual prayers for the departed soul, but for her to give him consolation too is hers and his emotional need.. he pleads , he needs her the most at this time , and she weeps but assures him , that she is forever beside him, with him..and they both weep , Viplav for her father, and Dhani sobs at seeing ,hearing , Viplav go through so much pain..
The prayers for the final rest of Shambu's soul begin.. his garlanded photo is displayed at a central place. Durga , her son Tripurari and Suvarna are first to arrive. Dashrant glares at them. Durga offers her condolences to dadi .Dhani and the widows arrive too and Dashrant acknowledges them . Dhani steps forward to offer her prayers for Shambu's soul , with flowers in her hands, but Kanak grabs Dhani's hands and accuses her of killing her husband and now she comes here like a hypocrite and pretends to pray her husband's soul! she screams in Dhani'sface! and Viplav is forced to intervene and he begs his mother to back off ! from Dhani ,begs his mother, to maintain decorum at this sad ritual ceremony.. But then Kanak in her blame game rage ,has her own agenda , that Dhani eventually fulfils, by saying she'll leave ,if she is not allowed to pray for Shambu then it's pointless her staying any longer.. much to Viplav's disgust , he sees Dhani and the rest of the widows leave..
Well in a fit of displeasure he too leaves his mother and the rest of the people and goes to the privacy of his room. Hurt by Dhani's exit , and bitter by his mother's attacks on Dhani, he sits on the floor and weeps.. feels vulnerable.. Dhani came for him.. to support him , but his mother humiliated her and turned her out! Viplav cries, he understands and is sensitive towards mother's trauma! how babaa's death is leaving her unaware of what she is doing.. but Viplav cries silently, as much as he understands her pain, feels sorry for his mother, he cannot bear her militantly cruel manner with Dhani!. So he virtually takes a stand that whenever the need arises he will fight his mother and defend Dhani!
While Viplav pines for Dhani's love and support in his room. Dhani too is reluctant to leave with the rest of the widows and says she will stay outside the house ,but will be available to offer support to Viplav when he needs it. Dhani sees how time and again he openly challenges his mother and supports her.. hence fearlessly she too asks her family to leave as she is fine to be on her own.. her heart bids her to stay ,Viplav's mothers ,cusses and accusations don't deter her, as her love for Viplav conquers all.
She came to offer him support with all the love in her heart. She sat outside the house on the cold veranda . The chill in the air matters not for her. The warmth of her love for him is enough. As the gods will it ,Viplav does spot her outside from a window, his feet race to match his beating heart and he finds her and embraces her with ownership , chides her for sitting outside in the cold. Viplav insists she come inside the house. She refuses. But he refuses her request ,and says , painfully , don't put him in a situation where he is torn apart between her love and his mother's love! Then by the hand he leads her on with his hand .. as if in circumambulation mode.. And he led her up to his room. Gently sat her down ,covered her cold shoulders with his jacket.. That shalu presented to him ..showing respect for her womanhood. Serves her tea and just stares at her wide eyed.. She sat for him, for so many hours in the cold because she cared for him? Dhani admits quietly .. She must be mad! and she replies, like he is.. He studies her face and yet again he apologizes for his mother's behaviour. There is slight insecurity in Viplav.. he muses, what if he loses her ,due to his mother's attitude towards her?.. but she nods ,it's ok.. he doesn't need to apologize.. Viplav is satisfied ,that his sweet Dhani has not taken it to heart.. this is the mature complacency they share between each other.. and casually he offers to drop her home.. Dhani being Dhani .refuses, tells him ,she'll be fine going on her own.. she only stayed to check if he was fine.. she takes his hands and he brings them close to his forehead.. yes he needed this moment with her.. he was losing his strength. With her comforting presence now he feels he can pull through the emotional setback, as she revives his broken spirit with the freshness of her pure soul..Viplav relaxes.
Both grand father and grandson.. one father and one son sit at the place where Shambu was found dead. It was if they were grieving , felt a connection with their beloved departed Shambu.. Dashrant is puzzled at the cause of death.. what stress could have caused it? as he led a stress free life. Baffled dashrant leaves and viplav sits at the spot where his father last lay.. It was almost like sitting at his father's grave.. Keenly he looks at the floor . Finds a ring ! Studies it and discovers it's tripurari's!
Without wasting time he gets to tripurari's house ,roughs him up before his wife and mother, accuses him of murdering his father! Orders the police to arrest tripurari on the basis of the ring he finds outside the venue where his father was found. Tripurari denies any knowledge of the ring and says it's not his.. and shows an irate viplav an exact replica of the ring on his finger and says the ring on his finger is really his ring! and the one viplav has found as evidence is a replica! So craftily tripurari turns the tables , he was aware his ring was missing from his finger.. and so he took care of the situation!
Suvarna takes care of the situation as well and phones dhani and protests that viplav has yet again got tripurari arrested!.. Dhani leaves the ashram right away..durga begs viplav , he has misunderstood , tripurari would never do such a heinous act against the tirpathi family! Viplav struggles as he knows tripurari lies ...!
Lovely episode in terms of the support system offers Viplav.. he is beginning to feel the bite of being pulled asunder by two woman .he loves, but does he know one of them well enough! Tripurari's wily deeds are annoying , but seems to be winning small victories .. Hamlet53 16.1.16
