Truly! What a week that was...

"Eventful" to the T...Confessions and Everything in Between!

Am sure the CVs didn't intend it that way, but, clearly the week was divided into two halves, both literally and figuratively!

There are so many MEMORABLE moments this week - this write-up could actually run into pages!😆

Before going down the DELIGHTFUL ViDha lane, would also like to put forth some quick thoughts on the other important developments this week:

- Dulaari's past seemed like a happy one, if her photo is anything to go by...must be deep-rooted scars to have turned her into a pale shadow of her days gone by...

- DT can put Satan to same - the irony being that he can even use scumbags like TP as pawns, time and time again!

- Liked the positivity and composure that surrounds the Malkin of the erstwhile ViDha habitat - she made her presence felt, despite limited screen presence

- The new entrant, Piya - boisterous, yet, likeable! As Viplav rightly says "Yeh Aunty ki poti nahin, Mummy hai!" 😆 Piya's Indo-Western wardrobe deserves a mention too

Now, to the most INTERESTING part...the part that I LOVE doing the most!😃

Had done a COLLAGE last week; am doing a COUNTDOWN this week...purely my thoughts (have to admit, was quite difficult outlining the order, though!)

So here goes...my thoughts on the ViDha HIGHLIGHTS this week :

Number 7 to Number 1...
No. 7: Candles have found a new purpose in life!
- Viplav will obviously not give up, with the candles to his rescue!😆
- There is something about Viplav and Dhani that is easy...so effortless...so understated, yet beautiful!
- This aspect of ViDha's relationship once again comes beautifully to the fore...what a metaphoric play of hands!
- LOVED the moment when Viplav just jumps at the opportunity of cupping both his palms around a single flame, while Dhani looks on...the onset of the turmoil of times to come!
- And finally...only Viplav can make utmost use of his hands to protect a flame, say sorry and get away with it!😆 Very good touch that!👏
"Look at how a single candle can both defy and define the darkness!" or so was said by Viplav to Dhani...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No. 6: "Suhaag ka saaman" never seemed so relevant before!
- Loved the way Viplav cut Piya short and made his point about the bangles and Dhani
- The pensive Viplav lost in deep thought after Dhani and Piya walk away - a lovelorn steadfast gaze, with an intent to follow!
- When Dhani tells Viplav "Tum bhi chalo" and "Hum bhi nahin jayenge" - the beauty of that deep-rooted concern, that Dhani is still completely oblivious of...nice touch that!
- And then, the proverbial icing - just LOVED, LOVED the conversational tone of the Viplav-Dhani interaction just before Viplav goes out shopping for Dhani & the suhagaan puja...So many CLASSIC ViDha moments there:
1. Viplav's monologue to himself...
2. The deep "Humare liye toh hai, Dhani" moment and the sparkle in Viplav's eyes...
3. Viplav trying to understand Dhani's perspective and accommodate it, despite his overwhelming zeal...
4. The comforting "I am there for you" look that Viplav turns around and gives Dhani on his way out...
👏👏👏
"When was the last time you heard someone, without talking?" Viplav and Dhani just did!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No. 5: So that's why its called "Falling" in Love!
- So Viplav continued his date with falling this week as well!😆
- Just LOVED the moments around this scene - some TOP NOTCH writing and BRILLIANT enacting by Mishal and Eisha!⭐️
- MEMORABLE moments those, when Viplav plays on Dhani's mind and uprightness with the 'pati patni' thingy...the amusement on Viplav's face as he is upto his madcap antics (read: Jhooth Jhooth nahin hota, right!) and the blink & you miss "Nahin" moment...when Viplav teases Dhani...that follows immediately after...sheer DELIGHT, that!😃
- And then, as expected...Viplav and his 'walk in the garden' just had to end in a fall!
- FAB comment on the "ghadi for kaki"😆 & LOVELY touch in the end with Viplav picking up the remaining clothes and handing them over to Dhani...typically thoughtful Viplav that!😊
- BTW, didn't Viplav once again fall while 'serenading' Dhani?😉
When Albert Einstein wrote "You can't blame gravity for 'falling' in love", little did he know that 2 individuals far, far away in the city of Banaras would actually embody it!😆
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No. 4: "Road Trips" will never be the same again...
- Some CLASSIC ViDha moments played out on the streets of Banaras or was it Gazipur or Filmcity Mumbai!😆
- FANTASTIC writing brought completely to life with these BLESSED actors, Mishal and Eisha!
- So many WONDROUS moments...where do I even begin...
1. Viplav's child-like glee at the 'nimbu pani' eureka moment to "Kitney lecture sunati hai" mumble to "Mar gayi pyaas" to "Chalo, ise kuch to laga" ramble!
2. Dhani's stoic demeanor in her "Bhagwan tumhe kuch sadbuddhi de" to being completely unaffected by Viplav's "Rehne do...tumhare gale main achha lagta hai"
3. Viplav's "Thank you" gesture to divine intervention on hearing that the phone lines are dead OR the completely smitten "Hum uparwale se tumhe..."
Phew! The list is endless!
Obviously I'm not done yet; have more to add on ViDha's affinity for the outdoors!😛
- Absolutely ADORED the stolen glances between ViDha during the 'Dheere Dheere' flashback playout...
- Have to add here that Dhani is the perfect foil to Viplav in innumerable ways...Dhani's restraint COMPLETES Viplav's exuberance... and EFFORTLESSLY so!
- LOVED the ice-cream moments...they were so ViDha!
1. Viplav giving Dhani the 1st ice-cream that Piya hands him, and opening the cone at that!
2. The "Koi baat nahin" gesture when the ice-cream falls and the quick "50-50 kar lenge" moment!
3. Dhani's subsequent fraction of a second bewildered expression, and her 'exchange' with Viplav as she says "Haan"!
4. And the proverbial cherry...the pensive side of Viplav quickly overtaking his playfulness, as he thinks to himself...and throws the ice-cream over!
In summary, this landslide will be one to remember for Viplav and Dhani ...
"Sometimes the most scenic roads in life are the detours you didn't mean to take."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seldom are those MAGICAL moments where EVERYTHING just falls into place seamlessly - the Writing, the Acting and the Direction...
My TOP 3 ViDha moments this week...exemplify this!
So here goes...the final countdown...
No. 3: "Bichhoo ka dank" and thereafter...
- Ok! First things First...will never know if that Bichhoo was for real; but it sure was there for a mission!
- Much has already been said about Viplav's prank and the ViDha hug thereafter...Viplav had donned his romantic hat no doubt, but Dhani really stood out for me in this scene. The complex mix of confusion, discomfort, bewilderment, coyness YET not being able to push Viplav away - Eisha just nailed it!👏
- And when Dhani regains her composure; Viplav let's go of Dhani...Mishal's expression was PRICELESS!👏
Now for why does this scene feature in my TOP 3...the EPIC moments in this scene...here goes...
1. Viplav's unwavering focus as he 'targets' the bichhoo!😆
2. Dhani's candid "Hato"! Would love to see how Dhani's behavior pans out after the obvious...would hate it if this "I am the boss" understated tonality were to diminish even one bit!
3. Viplav' take as Dhani shoos him away...
- "Tum kaho toh paal lein...Khilayenge, Sulayange...Saath main rakhenge"!😆
- Dhani's retort with a jhadoo!😆
- Her lucid explanation as Viplav completely amused lovingly looks on!
- And finally, as Dhani prods Viplav to speak up, and Viplav once more begins yet another futile attempt, Dhani's reprimand and walking away! Some irony that!😆
"Fondest memories of the scorpion's sting"...a Dichotomy, will remember Viplav and Dhani!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No 2: "Ganit ki Pariksha" or Love Confessions...Difficult Choice, This!
Am breaking this piece into Before & After...
BEFORE:
- "I" will just never be the same again! 😆 My memories of English and Hindi grammar will never be the same again!😆
- What a FANTASTIC piece of writing and EMOTED to perfection by our talented DUO! Will be a priceless treasure of the ViDha repertoire!👏👏👏
- The pitch was just right from the start itself...Dhani's "dimaag nadi main sach main chodd aaye ho kya?" to her actually looking for someone in the garden with her understanding of "Aayi"!😆
- And then finally, when Dhani prods Viplav to speak up...his stutter...his stammer...and then an endearing smile...laughing at his own inexplicable state of affairs...all in the name of love! Mishal was spot on!⭐️
- The true mark of an actor, they say, is comic timing...guess Mishal and Eisha are kinda getting there and soon!😊
AFTER:
- Will be frank about this...liked this scene more due to ViDha's chemistry than anything else...could have been far better written!
- Mishal pitched Viplav's anxiousness just right and thereafter the confession too...was straight from the heart!
- Some lovely moments there as Viplav opens up to Dhani...'boring ladki se pyaar' to 'ladaai main apnapan main pyaar' and the 'aankhen kholne par ehsaas' feeling...👏
- The scene had the potential of becoming a CLASSIC...if the lines about Viplav's realization were stronger...Viplav could have encapsulated the journey and realization so much better...with so much depth...the pati-patni reason was so not necessary! The husband-wife drama was only that! A drama! It was completely incidental to the whole scheme of things! It would be absolutely superfluous to attribute it to the DEPTH of Viplav's love for Dhani!
Myriad Moods of the Love Confession...A Delight to Experience and a Delight to Behold!
Truer words were never spoken, Viplav and Dhani!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AND FINALLY, THE BIG ONE...NO BROWNIE POINTS FOR GUESSING...
🤪🥳
No 1: "Khuda ka Rang Safed Hai Baba, Khuda ka Rang Safed..."
- What an EPIC way to introduce this new line to the title song of IKRS...
- A new paradigm to Viplav and Dhani's dynamic
- EVERYTHING just EVERYTHING about this scene was PERFECTION personified!👍🏼⭐️👏
1. A very difficult scene - one wrong note, and could have been a complete disaster!
2. The depth of Viplav and Dhani's bond coming to the fore, and that despite being tested...and what a test that was! The first thing that Viplav does on seeing Dhani is ensure her well-being and Dhani's silent nod of the head as she breaks down while doing so!👏
3. Powerful BG score with the right mix of Sanskrit shlokas and stotras
2. Viplav completely ripping apart the hypocrisy of the age old societal demons... with "Banaras hamara bhi hain" - an indicator of the 'revolution' to come!
3. Viplav like a man possessed, shedding his blood for the love of his life!
- Have to mention here that this was a very tricky moment...could have gone awfully wrong (read; filmy), if not for the superlative effort put forth by the entire team
- So what is it that sent goose bumps on watching all this pan out?
- The pain, fire, intensity and rage in Viplav's eyes as the sword finds its might!
- Viplav continuously reassuring Dhani...what a way to be a 'man'!
- Dhani and her reactions! What a CLASSIC act that! Right from her speechless, spellbound expression as Viplav's blood trickles down to smear her face...to being completely dumbfounded as Viplav makes a public declaration of his noble intent...and finally to Dhani's shell-shocked state as she walks over to Dulaari...that wide-eyed expression full of gratitude and love, as Dhani repeatedly looks back to fathom if this was for real...
Friendship is only a cover-up, Dhani! We could see what you still can't! It's only a matter of time, now!
"Khuda ka Rang Safed Hai Baba, Khuda ka Rang Safed..."
As Viplav had said earlier in the week, "Hum na hi marna chahte hain na hi amar hona chahte hain"
Viplav aur Dhani, tumhain pata nahin, par tum AMAR zaroor ho gaye ho...
And so has your love story!
And now, on a parting note, without which this post would be incomplete...
Am creating this special section as a tribute to MISHAL and EISHA...
- What versatility they have demonstrated this week!
- From playfulness & mischievousness to full-blown serious and sombre!
- The 'give and take' between Mishal and Eisha is simply OUTSTANDING! The beauty being that this is apparent even when Viplav and Dhani are not in the forefront of a frame/scene...has happened many times this week!
- Several couples have CHEMISTRY - But, MISHAL and EISHA are SOMETHING ELSE!
Viplav and Dhani speak through their silences...
We laugh along with their mindless banter...
They can make us feel their trials and tribulations...
Our hearts go out to them when theirs' bleed...
Take a BOW, you both...
👏👏👏
FOR BRINGING SO MUCH JOY INTO OUR LIVING ROOMS AND LIVES!
Cheers!
