Silent reader peeping out from the darkness.

Coming to todays's episode. I think this was a great way to show that modern people like Viplav can show humanity and decency while religious people like the pandit who devote their lives to God and religion can be so inhumane and indecent. Speaking of religious people, what kind of devotee like DT holds a party with music and has three girls dance for him and his son. Society doesnt have a problem with that?

As for society, I know we shouldn't care about what people think but some of do while some of us don't and Viplav is one of them. With society, today you're the target, tomorrow someone else is. I do understand though that Dhani lives in a place where this cannot be easily overlooked as in a place like America. In Banaras something like this is considered a crime which must be punished.

I would like to ask everyone here if they were a boy and a girl looked dead and cold to you, would you not freak out and panic. Especially if it's someone you knew. I know my heart would pound like crazy and my palms would sweat continuously. Especially since I'm not a medical professional

Also, I don't know if anyone here has been in a jeep but I have a jeep and so I'm speaking from experience if you drive a jeep like Viplav's that's comepletely open then even if its hot and humid outside, air does hit you and if you're completely wet the way Dhani was then you'd feel cold as soon as that air hit you regardless of the heat and humidity and especially at night. So I would definitely rule out the the idea of using his jeep.

As for Viplav choosing the mandir then all I have to say is when people are in a problem and can't figure things out then they often seek refuge with God. They feel much better in a place of worship like a mandir.

I'm amazed that some would want Viplav to go into a room and change Dhani's clothes. I mean that pandit would film Viplav going in there with Dhani in a white sari and then both coming out with Dhani in a red saree, completely changed. That would obviously worsen the whole situation in peoples eyes about what happened behind closed doors. Atleast the people who will see the video will just see Viplav looking away while changing her clothes not a man and a woman coming out of locked room. And Dhani would be in even greater shock if she woke up in a locked room with just her and Viplav.

I'm surprised someone earlier said a dignified girl would rather die of cold than be undressed by a male. Again speaking from experience I was in a similar situation where there were no female doctors so I had no choice but to be shown to a male doctor who saw my body. I did not feel like I should kill myself nor did my parents who were with me. I also did not feel that I was no longer a dignified girl nor did my parents and we are muslims who don't show anything except for our face and hands. But I do feel for Dhani who was awake one second and woke up to feeling herself bare naked with a saree draped over herself and a man she barely knows claiming to have undressed and dressed her. How invaded and vulnerable she must feel.

Finally, it's amusing that all are lashing out on Viplav like Dhani even when we know what actually happened and what Viplav's intentions were. We are failing to see the bigger deed at hand. Viplav saved her life. He could have easily left her there to die like the pandit and many other Banarasis. I feel bad for Viplav who was so freaked out and scared only to be slapped by the very person who drove him crazy the whole night. I really hope Dhani sees the video and realizes that Viplav didnt even look at her. We should all be lashing out and thrasing that sick pandit and his sick co. They're the criminals not Viplav. Viplav made a rash mistake and mistakes can be forgiven but what that damn pandit did was a crime which cannot be forgiven.

I think people who are watching with their family should openly criticize the society who condemn a girl for having her clothes changed by a man when she was dying. We need to change the closed mindset that reputation is above life. Life is above all. Let's take Dulari for example, a mother of a 20 year old innocent girl. She will be shocked and miserable but she would eventually overcome it and help her daughter overcome it as well. However, had Viplav left Dhani to die what would Dulari have done. She would not have been able to overcome her daughter's death all her life. She would not be able to bring back her daughter from the dead.

No offense to anyone here. I'm merely sharing my thoughts after being encouraged by the healthy discussions this episode has created amongst us. I feel there will be many more episodes after this where we will get to discuss our views regarding the character's actions vs society norms. Today, everyone's thoughts on Viplav's, Dhani's, that sick pandit's and society's actions have been damn interesting.

Keep up the buzz!

Thank you very much for this very important post Maiya. I am proud that we have many respectful ppl in the forum. Who think that being a women isn't a burdon . Izzat shouldn't be more important than life.
There are many worse problems girls face..like rape. If a girl and her family commit suicide after it..who will avenge bad men who make thesw crimes? It is time ppl start thinking differently about women . Look up to them.

Bang on post. 👏
You spoke my mind!
Im shocked to see ppl here saying that a girl wld prefer dying instead of facing humiliation frm the society.
Really?! Such low is the price of life? 😕 How can bloody izzat be more important than somebody's freaking life? 😳
And ppl think that changing clothes behind the idol & in the room wld've been better?
Heck that wld've created more misunderstanding.
All wld've thought thay something did happen between them behind those closed doors. But watching the video which that pervert Pandit recorded, any sane & sensible person wld understand that nothing was going on between them.

And taking her to a hospital, well he cld've have.
But he panicked! And ppl dont use their brains when they freak out.
Has happened to me so many times.
At that time the only thing on his mind was how to save Dhaani. And he did all he cld.
& the result was fruitful.
Imagine him thinking abt what ppl wld say seeing them like that at that moment.
Honestly I wld have hated him for that.
But ppl are blaming him instead of the hypocritical society who made this a scandal!

Matlab the whole outcome of this incident was: society will uchaalo their izzat & not that he successfully saved a girl from falling into the clutches of death. I knw Dhaani was justified in behaving like that coz it was a shock for her learning that he changed her clothes. But sooner or later she has to realize that his intentions werent wrong & she's alive only coz of him.

I dont care if ppl think Viplav was wrong in doing what he did to save Dhaani.
For me he was absolutely right.
Duniya jaaye bhaad me & now I want to see him exposing that pervert Pandit & proving his innocence infront of all.

Sorry for the long post.

don't be sorry, as it says all your points clearly and should make people understand the whole situation clearly many posts have been made majority excepting that it was the right thing for Viplav to do, but some are thinking he had the jeep,so why no use it to take her where someone else could attend to her. but @ red you explained that in detail too so now people should have no doubt what viplav did was right taking her in the jeep would have made thins worse as soon as the wind hit her. My only objection was cv's should not have made that scene necessary to create more hatred for dhani an already a very vulnerable girl in society.
A very good post Maiya, welcome to the forum.

Gr8 Analysis..n i completely agree wit u.. but 1 thing i jst wanna say is viplav was barely carrying her n cannot take her towards d jeep n also this life saving measure i.e CPR had to b done on the spot na.. if somebody is taking her last breadth ull not take her to aashrum or hosp ull start reviving him/her on the roadside.. if somebody s wet n cyanosed ull change hr clothes then n there.. ull take her behind the doors if ur intentions are bad..so i can completely relate to the situation n i dun find anything wrong in viplav,s actions n I'm glad he revived her without wasting a second..dhani cud,ve been died if he had thinking to move her anywhere else..

Thank you tarun ! hope to be a more active member of this forum. We're becoming more aware of the situation of other women around the world. Honestly, I never knew widows had to live that kind of life before so this show has definitely become an eye opener for me. And look at the hypocrisy if a woman becomes a curse when her husband dies shouldn't the same apply to a man when his wife dies. He should also become a curse and condemned in society. He should also live the same way these widows have been living.
