Also I think Indian movies are more relatable because of our culture.. so we relate to it. Some old movies have problematic movies elements as well but surely not all of them.

Clearly, in our culture, self sacrifice, letting go and putting needs of others over oneโ€™s own is called as love. Which is why a momโ€™s love is most revered here. We can see it easily in movies like KKHH, veer zaara, KHNH etc. There is this quality of simplicity and innocence. I think that quality is shown in Harry Potter books and movies as well - loyalty, love..

K Dramas - The guy almost always a jerk and rich with daddy or mommy issues all the time. The girl is always poor. ๐Ÿคช

Western movies lack that kind of build up. They donโ€™t have the nuance that Desis do. Even Pakistani dramas like ZGH & Humsafar are able to show romance with zero physical intimacy.

I too think it is mostly because of cultural connect. I do think Hollywood makes better movies in other genres like Action, Sci-Fi, Thriller, Horror and even drama like The Shawshank Redemeption but Romance and Comedy are just no no for me. I can not connect to them. This comes from different cultural background. Romance and Humor are different in different culture.

I do enjoy some selected Comedy shows like TBBT, Friends, Silicon Valley, Young Sheldon But The list is limited. I like British comedy though

Shawshank redemption is too good...if you like sci-fi you can try the back to the future franchise...i love the hollywood romantic movies not all of them but list is very very long but desi romance hits different

Already watched Forrest Gump and Raiders of the lost Ark. I did not really like Indiana Jones vibe but I did enjoy other Spielberg movies like E.T Extraterrestrial, Jurrasic Park, Minority report etc.

I think Amir Khan's next movie is inspired from Forrest Gump.

I used to live some sci fi movies as a kid but now donโ€™t like them much. Superhero, sci fi.. not for me.

I like romance, social issue dramas, historical/, historical fiction and fantasy.

Also enjoy high school movies (not musicals though.. hate them!)

I enjoy old cliche BW movies too for time pass. Like khoon bhari maang, karan Arjun, Hum saath saath hai.. revenge movies.. like saas tortures her Bahu and another bahu comes to take revenge..๐Ÿ˜†
