Pitch Report | Daren Ganga: It's pitch number 4 being used. Square boundaries - 56 metres and 70 metres, straight - 70 metres. The pitch looks very good for batting, it's very typical of an Eden Gardens pitch. There's a tinge of green, the grass is even, so I expect consistent bounce and consistent pace. What we've seen here is of course seamers dominate with wicket-taking, spinners a little more economical. The trend is to opt to chase. But if you score in excess of 200, you give yourself a very good chance of winning.

The batting has been very inconsistent for KKR, and things really fell apart in the previous match as they were bowled out for 127 on a difficult pitch. A return to Eden Gardens would perhaps help in that regard, considering three of the four innings played here have yielded scores of over 200 this season. But then their fast bowlers, who have conceded runs at over 11 an over, will be faced with a big challenge. Against CSK, that challenge starts right from ball one with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway in the kind of form that they are.
