How good was Jonassen there? The game was tight but she showed no nerves. Finishes it off with a six and a four and leaves RCB winless after 5 games. With that loss goes RCB's hopes of finishing in the top 3, although there might be still a chance mathematically. Much better bowling performance from RCB but 150 was just a few too less. Megan Schutt gave them the dream start by getting Shafali 1st ball but Lanning and Capsey counter-attacked with the latter looking ominous. After Capsey went, Lanning built a partnership with Rodrigues before the Aussie fell. When Rodrigues top-edged a sweep, the game was in the balance but Kapp and Jonassen showed no nerves as they steered their side home. And how crucial was Kapp's stretch that helped her over the line when a mix-up almost led to a run-out. In hindsight that was the turning point of the game.

Smriti Mandhana | RCB captain: Really good effort by our bowlers to take it till the 20th over. Definitely a lot of improvements but a lot of things to work on still. The partnership got us into the game, they both batted brilliantly. They used their experience to get us to a defendable total. Not the best of the starts, including my batting. The first 14 overs really hurt us, even 10-15 runs more would have helped. Towards the fag-end of the tournament, the wickets are going to get slower. Even in the last game, spinners got the ball to turn and pace-off and slower balls were working.

Jemimah Rodrigues: I wanted to finish it off and come, I was disappointed with the way I got out but the way JJ came and hit those boundaries. These are the matches we live for. I think it is very important for us to be tested that's when our character is tested. It's good that we are getting matches like this in the league stages, helps us prepare for the finals. One bad game doesn't define us, our team has been fielding well, it can happen in cricket sometimes. It's what we do next that will define us. We have two days rest and we are gonna work on our fielding. We have one of the best fielding sides out there.

Meg Lanning | DC captain: It was close in the end there, JJ and Kappy did an excellent job to keep their composure. We got ahead and RCB bowled well to come back, nice to get over the line. It would have been nice to finish it earlier but the wicket got slower. Having two experienced batters at the end helped. We just executed really well, if you hit a good length, that's the most effective way to bowl. A lot to learn from this game. To get a win under pressure will do wonders for our team. I am trying to stay calm - that's T20 cricket for you, you are under the pump all the time. Shikha Pandey has been under the radar, she is bowling really well and having Kapp and Jess Jonassen on the field helps as well.

Jess Jonassen, Player of the Match: It got much closer than we would have liked. Really happy to be out there and get the team over the line. Her superwoman dive came in handy. (About her batting) I guess it is really hard in the Australian line-up to get up the order so starved of opportunity there. In the domestic circuit, I play in the middle order and that has kept me in good stead here. More innings like this hopefully are coming. A bit of a surprise for me to be standing here (receiving this award). Many players deserving of this award and I will take the two points. (On her conversation with Kapp) Just told her to back her swing. She got one short and wide and she absolutely nailed it. I had clear plans on how I wanted to play the off-spinner, and got a sweep shot away.

Wow, that was some game. RCB did very well to stay there till the end but they were left ruing the middling total they put up. There was a bit of help on offer for the bowlers and had they scored 20 runs more, they would have been in with a very good shout. Credit, though, must be given to DC. They held their nerve in the moments that mattered, with their overseas pros Kapp and Jonassen soaking up all the pressure and thriving at the end. Jemimah also played her part, as did Capsey, setting up the chase with a belligerent powerplay. In short, this was a game that showed why DC are where they are and why RCB are where they are. DC found the right answers just when they required it; RCB didn't!
