As for Krishna calling Arjun 'Paartha', I can show you many verses where Krishna is addressing Yudhishthir too as 'Paartha'. See this one where He is praising Yudhishthir:

Shraddhaa
Cha Shaantih Cha Dhritih Kshamaa Cha

Yes the others too were referred to as Parth. What i said is it is generally only Arjuna. And that name is courtesy krishna. 😳
If i say simply Parth then you would take it as referring to Arjuna only, won't you?
Thank you for posting this. Besides serving the purpose of reminding everyone of the other pandavas too being referred to as Parth, it also makes me appreciate and look at the way krishna reverred and appreciated dharmaraj.

Btw, do you have the e version of MB translation? Sacred texts is forbidden, and the translation I have is Kisar Ganguli's. I have been searching for the original for ages.

I still think its due to the reason we agreed upon. 😛

Srutha, I have the Sanskrit MB and I don't find KMG's translation correct at all places. He has mistranslated many parts, specially the parts of Karna and Yudhishthir. He seems to be a Karna fan who changed some of his cruel words into a bit soft words. Another example, the word is 'louha' in lakshagriha episode (Vidur's advice) but KMG made it 'steel' which is impossible because at that time steel was not invented. It should be iron. I can show you many examples like this. Even he has changed the meaning of Pandavas' reaction to Draupadi at her swayamvar hall which led readers to misunderstand the event and characters. So I always check the original Sanskrit version before commenting on any controversial topic.
