Individually, both are good choices, but not next to each other. If Ashish is Rama, I don't want Mrunal as Sita, and vice versa. Hence my other suggestions. Those 2 don't look remotely close in age.

Tanvi Bhatia, who was Arpita in Gunaho ka Devata, has that softness in her that would nicely project a Sita. Conversely, if Mrunal is Sita, then Shravan Reddy has the gentle tone that people expect from a Rama. Only that you'd need younger looking guys to play LBS.

Another point - if this is a Sita centric Ramayan, I'd expect that UMS would be more than merely peripheral characters - at least preceding the 2 vanvas's

Basically they are good actors. Its a challange for them to portray different characters. They must be chosen after proper audition. Our judgements are based on their other shows. Lets see how the end result turns out to be.

I'd like to see a team of good actresses for all the 4 sisters. Something like

Sita - Kajal Jain
Urmila - Mrunal Thakur
Shrutakirti - Monica Sehgal
Mandavi - Tanvi Bhatia

any news when the show is expected to start?

So has there been any further confirmation about Mrunal playing Sita?

Just stumbled across this thread!!! Nice to have Ramayan from Sita's POV. Would they be planning to cover the post Lanka parts as well?

I know that debutants do mytho characters better, but isn't this Sita's role more than a handful for Madirakshi to handle?

That report still had Mrunal as Sita. But I thought Madirakshi was picked instead. Also, Mrunal has been resurfacing on KKB recently, and has been getting more screen space

I guess, they forgot to edit Mrunal's name.
