Oooh, a quick post, actually: I realised a funny thing earlier tonight, that's relevant to ONS and kind of important to serials in general.

In Swami Sivananda Radha's book Radha: Diary of a Woman's Search, she describes the purpose of kharkals (the clicky things that Narada uses): the sound of the striking kharkals drive away impure thoughts. They clear the mind of everything else.

So on the shows, it seems like what Narada should be doing is striking them once, and then saying Narayan, Narayan!, right? Clear the mind, then fill it with God's name?

And he never does this. He's always striking the kharkals WHILE chanting the name, which is kind of counterproductive, since the effect would be to blank someone's mind at the same time as God's name is being chanted. I imagine it would be rather confusing to anyone listening.

Just a nit-picky little detail. :P
