It was just a guess from my part.

Actually I didn't understand your last clue- I thought Calypso kept Odysseus captive on the island Ogygia so that he could be her husband forever and not go back to Penelope.

However from your clue, it seems Caypso herself was imprisoned on an island. Could you elaborate?

My cousins were a mixed bag

I had to kill 3 of them
I instigated another cousin of mine to slay yet another cousin of mine
One of my cousins helped me with my marriages to at least 2 of my wives, while another 3 of them opposed my marriages to 2 of my wives.

Who am I? (Bonus points - who are the cousins under discussion above?)

Answer : Krishna

The cousins that I killed- Shishupal, Dantavakra, (who was the third?)

Cousin who helped me with my marriage(s) : Arjuna

I instigated Arjuna to kill Karna(?) Technically Karna, being Kunti 's son, would also count as Krishna's cousin

The 3rd cousin Krishna killed was Vidyurath - Dantavatra's brother.

The third point - Arjuna helped Krishna discover Kalindhi and supported him when the rival rulers tried to block his taking Lakshmanaa away. The 3 cousins who opposed Krishna's marriages were Sishupala in the case of Rukmini (actually, Dantavatra and Vidyurath as well) and in the case of Mitravindya, it was Vinda & Anuvinda who opposed Krishna marrying their sister. (My question should have stated 5 cousins - I forgot Dantavatra & Vidyurath while formulating it).

And yeah, I counted Karna as Krishna's cousin while formulating the question, since we're just talking about Kunti's sons here more than Pandu's. That was the correct answer to point 2.

All the cousins above were sons of his various buas.

He died b4 Dhritarashtra & Pandu were born.

Dhritarashtra couldn't see his sons (since he was blind)

Vyasa was the eldest half bro
