---I, along with my son, fought bravely in one of the epic war.

---B'coz of my and my wife's dignified prayer to lord, my son, who played a crucial role in that war, was born.

---We won that War!

Who am I?

(Just to keep this rolling and to participate for the first time, I asked this .. i hope radhikarani won't mind who actually answered prior to me..)

King Drupad.

But I am not sure about 'dignified prayer to Lord'. It was purely self serving for the sake of personal revenge.

I don't think draupad ever did any 'tap'.. to have son! It's real easy.. look on the central characters of couple of epic wars!

😃 >> next clues:

- I was born of someone, who was sort of born of someone, who in another form, sort of became my student.
- I am multilingual, and I can take credit for the fact that many others from the subcontinent are too.
I have enviably high lung capacity.

Who am I?

^^ You got it Rehan! The first clue referred to the fact that his mother Urvashi emerged from Shri Vishnu's thigh during the Nar-Narayan incarnation, who in Ram Avtaar learned some divyaastra formulas from Agastya.
